Crudup wrote and recorded "That's All Right, Mama" in 1946. Elvis' 1954 Sun recording was titled "That's All Right," they dropped the "Mama" but gave Crudup credit on the label. It was Elvis' fourth visit to Sun Records, his second to actually record something for public release. The first two visits were for his mother.

did this in 1954 - went into a Sun Records studio to have a disc cut before he hit the big time and made this....the rest is history.
