  • Nah chuck had changed his vocals up over the years as they kinda transitioned from straight up thrash to more melodic metal....... This Right here is the album that single handedly saved metal entering the new millennium. Had it not been for them using Lombardo as their drummer as a last second replacement and hiring obituary's James Murphy to play, metal would have completely sunk into this mainstream emo crap we hear so much nowadays. This record kickstarted bands like shadows fall, black d

  • Is it just me or is Chuck trying to sound like Gus (Grip Inc.) on this song? don't get me wrong Chuck has one of the great and most distinct metal voices, hail the Chief don't bother changin'

  • Did Steve DiGiorgio play a fretless bass in Testament like he did in Death?

  • @HrapovikPlush yup...fretless....saw them at DOA 2000, fuckin insane man!! I've seen TestAmenT 7 times live and every time it gets better and I lose my fuckin mind in the PIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i really really really really really really really really really liked this song until i read the lyrics

    horrible lyrics

  • @p0rnADDiction jesus freak

  • @p0rnADDiction pussy

  • @p0rnADDiction sh!t now you're gonna make us read the lyrics, lol

  • @p0rnADDiction lyrics? seriously? what are u talking about! lyrics are great! but let me ask u something - are u one a "true believer"? This could explain why u did not rejected immediately this piece aside.

  • The album awesome! Due to Chuck Billy, Eric Peterson, James Murphy, Steve DiGiorgio and Dave Lombardo. DAMN! You just can't touch a lineup like that.

    \m/ \m/

  • everytime he says "between good and evil" i hear a megadeth song from the system has failed album ringing in my head... i can't figure out which song tho...

  • @MasterMetal420 Unless I'm mistaken, I think he agreed to help record this album but couldn't commit to touring because of prior commitments. He in another band at the time but I can't remember the name at the moment.

  • The bridge is fucking sick!

  • This song is their best

  • \m/ (-.-) \m/ I FUCKING LOVE METAL!!!

  • It's hard to beat the win that is generated by Chuck Billy's lyrics on a (somewhat) laid-back Testament song and the drum wizardry that is Dave Lombardo.

  • Its ... brillant in my opinion

  • Fuckin' awesome!

  • does anyone know what the cover of "the gathering" means and what it portrays?

  • @tasosslayer unfortunitlly i dunno, but it looks like some fucked up shit! lol

  • @tasosslayer Kinda looks like some odd portrayal of sex. lol

  • Even my neighbors started headbanging at 1:46 !

  • Stay the fuck metal \m/\m/

  • my favorite testament album , tho i enjoyed all of them

  • @PigDestroyer101 yeah there was not a bad testament album

  • 6 Justin Bieber fans are in a world of hurt, now.

  • @Hexenhammer0 lol first we need a porsche. but yeah I'd do the same.

  • this song is fuckin epic. it was also pretty cool that they put this song in brutal legend.

  • why cant he be in slayer and in testament ?

maybe paul bostaph would be a good roadie for mister dave lombardo ;)

  • @MasterMetal420 just for this album, unfortunatley

  • @MrSlyguywhoeatspie I personaly would much rather Dave in Slayer than Testament.

  • @slayermanbob paul was doing good with slayer, and i thought they were writing good songs with him.

and if this lineup had stayed together, we could have another album like this!!!!!!!!! i really thought dave used much more of his talent on this album than any slayer album.

  • @MrSlyguywhoeatspie I'll agree with you that he uses his talent a lot more in this. You have good reasons, although i dont know, I feel like dave kinda completes slayer.

  • one of mi fav albums ever... cheers to Testament

  • this album is the best trash metal album ever made. i cant even compare with anything else.there is not even 1 empty song , i dont really know which 1 i like most

  • The Drumming on this album and formation of damnation are so much better than the earlier albums… it made a real difference.

  • I dont friggin believe it. I stopped buying metal back in the 90's cause much of it turned to shit, which was just befor this CD came out....Im listening now for the 1st time and I am blown the F away!!! Incredible. I always told people their best records were SOULS, RITUAL and PREACH.....Im gonna buy this RIGHT NOW.

  • My favorite song from this album!!!!!!

(I think is my Testament's favorite)

  • Do you Believe in the Darkness Below...Some do!!!

  • Anyone else hear Ten Thousand Thrones in that intro?

  • Dave Lombardo fucking rules!!

  • just 1 word : masterpiece ......

  • Child of the 80's that I am New Order and Practice what you preach are still my faves from hese guys.

  • One of Testament's best songs ever! Definetly their best lineup.I love Skolnick but Murphy's snake-like solo makes the song.

  • i cant listen to testament and drive it makes me want to run people off the road anyone else having this problem please let me know driving to this dangerous

  • the lyrics sound to me like a personal confess have in mind that back then Chuck was seriously ill,the drum playing of Dave Lombardo is astonishing, the compositions are unbelievable ,the solos are great...In my opinion this album is a masterpiece by any means

  • It really is, but I remember back then when album was released, as a huge fan of testament I was very disapointed with it. My personal best of Testament is

    1. The Ritual / Low

    2. The Gathering

  • @EVEROSFP1 Dude .. you did get the point about this record .. i totally agree with u ..

  • @EVEROSFP1

True, "In 2001, Chuck Billy was diagnosed with germ cell seminoma; a rare kind of cancer in his case because it is usually in the testicular region of a man's body, but he had it in the chest region near his heart. "

Which proves that even Chuck's heart has balls. He's the fucking man.

  • @Poisonseed ...Absolutely.

  • Somehow I've listeneted to thousands of metal tunes over the years since Im very young. I had a sudden envy of checking out this song again. good stuff. haha random memory!

  • Testament is a very good band, this is one of my favorite songs by them.

  • I bought this at a rummage sale, not expecting it to be that good..in my opinion, its one of testament's best.

  • the only album without skolnick that sounds good

  • verY good

  • I dont really like trash metal but Testament is awesome hell yeah!

  • Don't worry Zumwaloro! Everyone here hates trash metal, but everyone worships Thrash Metal!

  • (@omgnomorebacon) Well then you're in the right place because this isn't death metal this is THRASH METAL!
