first of all i'd like to know how they know,for fact,that stonehenge was biult 5000 yrs ago.i dont think they know,even close to when it was biult.also that goes for the pyramids/sphinx.what has it got a vin or serial# on it somewere.just because they dug some shit up like clay pots or what does not mean a hill of beans.DNA proves man has been on the earth many more yrs than the christians believe,and that is why they say it is only 5000 yrs old.the bible doesnt put dates on everything.

@Mr1963 Firstly, there's radiocarbon dating, isotopic analysis, petrochemical analysis. take your pick? At SH we have hundreds of burials which throw up the same dates. Organic material from beneath the stones that tell when they went in the ground. You mention DNA, and we've been able to extract that from the people who lived whilst SH was being created. Nothing strange or funny, same dna as we are now. Not shaggy cavemen, but very smart people motivated by the same drivers than push us today.

The name for this intriguing site should be West Amesbury henge as there is, now, absolutely no evidence for bluestones from the recent petro chemical analysis. It was a convenient and attractive idea at the time. The thing now is to prove what stone type it actually was. Sarsen?
