They do some cool stuff. I met a few of their enlisted agents in Iraq a few years ago. I was VERY interested in thisb special duty assignment. Good luck if you aren't an NCO though ;)
@Dameit15 i think it means best training for what they need to do like you could say a chef is getting the best training in the world but you wouldnt call him a special operator would you?
Może kiedyś w Polsce doczekamy reformy nowoczesnej Żandarmerii Wojskowej na wzór AFOSI, NCIS, US Army CID, czy DCIS. Oczywiście w przypadku AFOSI czy NCIS wchodziłoby w grę połączenie z SKW.
I think you guys are wayyyy overhyping this. It's not terribly difficult to get into like these guys have said. It's not available to enlisted but if you have a college degree in a field that is applicable to this type of job then you're basically in. I'm a psychology major and I have already set up my enlistment as an officer into Special Investigations with my recruiter.
@SanguineBullet667 - You couldn't be any more wrong. I'm not part of OSI, but am in the Air Force and have done research that I can back on what I'm about to say. Getting into OSI is as difficult as it sounds. It's the second most requested career field in the AF and they only take around 230 people/year. In addition, in order to be part of OSI you must first serve in another career field in the AF, so your recruiter is lying if he's telling you, you can join the AF as an OSI Trainee.
@SanguineBullet667 - One thing you are correct about, however, is that they do favor those with skills or documented knowledge (ie: a degree) in a field they're interested in. I haven't gotten my BA yet, but am coincidentally going for Psychology as well and I can tell you, you won't get any extra benefit for your degree. Check out the official OSI website at osi(dot)andrews(dot)af(dot)mil for verification and accuracy of my information.
@Captus15 This is super elite, very hard to get into... if you were to enlist it would take you a few years of applying before you got in. Even then you would have to show huge progress.
@Fluffybunnies111 I get it, thanks for the info. I am actually in the AFROTC and i am studying a bachelor in criminal justice, hope that help me to be a competitive attender. Though i speak Spanish too. Are you agree in the point that that will help me?
@Captus15 Those things will help, but even then it may take a year or two to get in. They only admit at most 10 people a year. Speaking a different language is good right now, but I dont know if spanish is the best one. But honestly having another language under your belt could not hurt...
@Captus15 you must be an underclassmen because you should know the answers to all the questions your asking on here.. Do some research, if you really want the job PROVE it, call up a detachment near your school, do some networking, get accepted into the summer internship, complete your interview, submit your package and wait....
@TruPlaya4Eva05 I am agree with you. I already did the networking, i am in the AFROTC, and its not to prove that i want the job, its prove that i should have the job. And talking if is super elite or not is just an opinion that every person will have. I am currently in the right path of my interest. Between i respect Fluffybunnies answers, thanks.
hmmm maybe before you tell others to do research you should do some of your own.. AFOSI internships are for civilians only, at the completion of a 2 summer internship you are expected to enter osi training as a civilian. They take around 20 slots a year for officers, a few more for enlisted, and a few more for civi's, it is an extremely competitive program to get into.
@Fluffybunnies111 what are you talking about?? Super elite?? really?? The only reason it takes a few years is because you have to be in your re-train window.... huge progress??? c'mon now, you obviously have no interaction with them at all.. as far as being in AFROTC its about 20 slots per year although it varies... It is much easier to become an agent as an enlisted airman rather than a commissioned one...
Awesome , though i wonder if you could still get your Ph.d , join AFSF ( you know , entry-level and law enforcment related) and join OSI while in the Air Force , and do you need any specific ones?

Best training *within their field*, or so they would have us believe. It is a recruiting video after all.

@nsarafina If you want to become an OSI officer you don't. Going in through ROTC just requires you to do this one summer program.
Other than that, it's still hard to get in. That's what I'm planning on doing after College.
