also ATi cards wont render with the gpu, there is no support for them yet. so, if your going to buy a card specifically for rendering in Cycles either wait for a while, or buy an Nvidia card. i personally like ATi cards better for the money but like i said no support for them yet as of now. :(
@MartianStories The i7 CPU costs 280€ but computing is way faster withe the GS220. A video card for 70€.
Well, I can't find a Nvidia 220 GS. Only a 220 GT. Do you mean this card. I want to see some benchmark an compare it to my middleclass 6850HD. I thing computing will be realtime with a high-end GPU :D
@Revolvermann61 Ah. I guess I misunderstood. But it seemed like you were saying you can force BI to render on the GPU, like Cycles.
I got the GTS 450 a few weeks ago and I'm really liking it. It screams pretty good on Cycles. I want to start doing a lot more Cycles renders because the GPU seems to really speed things up. However, I'm still learning Cycles. The short I'm doing right now is in BI, but I want to redo it after I'm done in Cycles, and really learn the new renderer.
com o uso de um programa pesado mesmo depois dele sendo feixado mesmo assim a memoria do computador nao fica 100% sendo que teria que reiniciar para voltar do 0,se voce testou isso sem usar a memoria total nem da pra leva muito em consideraçao nao
@jbakkeratmind He was wondering if the memory was totally free, without opening programs before the test - he claims that even after closing a program, the memory might be "compromised".
(he didnt mentioned anything that worth to bother, translation bellow)
with the use of a heavy program, even after he had been closed the computer memory dont "restore" to a 100%, being that restarting it goes back to 0, if you tested this without using the full memory you cant even take this test in consideration.
BETA GAMES
(short joke: not all apps are full of memory leaking bugs =3)
@jbakkeratmind using a program even after it being heavy beam still the memory of the computer is not 100% of which would have to restart from 0 to return, if you test it without using the full or the memory to take into account not very

I don't understand this vid. How do you get BI to work on the GPU? And what did you mean at the end with "70 euro, 280 euro"?
