  • my name is julius cesar i was named after him and im so proud of my name cuz its a great mans name

  • @princetemp12 You can spell your own name? or capitalize it? you're all shit

  • FIVE CARTHINIANS DID NOT LIKE THIS VIDEO

  • napoleon was the caesar of after dc, but none of them were quite as great as alexandre...(but caesar is still my fav ;) )

  • 1. Prove God exists. 2. Humans are just a species of animal, in a genus of human like animals that have existed with proof from fossils. Also, humans share 98% chimp DNA. If you believe that animals don't make choices, your probably either underage or a fucking retard. Animals (humans) are defined by their ability to make choices based on the information they receive, that's ALL animals. 3. Go back to school you back woods trailer trash, it's people like you who hold back evolution.

  • @MrOrange121 evolution is a theory thats why they call it the theory of evolution and who u calling back woods trailer trash bitch its people like u who created sodom and gomorrah. and if u think that story was a fairy tale just look at today and u can see it being created all over again. every show has a homo in it and people are demonize on tv for calling homosexuals fagots because the media is controlled by pro-homosexual or homosexual people.

  • @MrOrange121 you so called education has made u an asshole who thinks he is better than others because of where they live. i live in a 3brd brick home bitch what does that make me a brick home trash . you dont sound like the normal fagot loving liberal nazi so why do u hate white people and why does it matter to u what other people believe or where they live. Caesar believed in many Gods in fact he was a high priest didnt u even watch this doc maybe u need to go back to school ur history sucks

  • @allenco65 When you learn how to spell and form a proper, coherent sentence maybe i will take you seriously.

  • @MrOrange121 thats what i thought bitch, what! to smart to understand poor uneducated me, well see if i spell this right, you suck and i believe u are a chimp. please watch some more videos maybe your history will improve then u can write about it heheheheh dumbass

  • @MrOrange121 Respect, from the comments i've read, you're the only one that made any sense. They're tralier trash.. Alienco65 can't even spell the word "faggot" when he is trying to insult you.

  • @MrOrange121 you don't believe in God? i pity you =))

  • @puremyr idiot.

  • The Gallic War was NOT genocide. It was a 500 year war. Only great slaughter was going to end it. Total conquest was necessary.

    Ancient times were tough.

  • well, that genocidal bastard is gonna be in hell for eternity!

  • @cuzcatlan36 No, he made himself a god in life and will forever live on in spirit and legend. Anyone would kill to secure even the smallest place in history.

  • @MrOrange121 No, you're wrong. Only psychotic killers wake up and think that being remembered for murdering people is gonna matter when you're dead. Most human beings just want to go to work, come home and chill.

  • @cuzcatlan36 Anyone who uses the word 'chill' is either an underage faggot who thinks sitting on your ass and smoking pot is cool, or an average intelligence dumb ass who thinks Obama is a good president . In 1000 years people will still know that Julius Caesar made a huge difference in the world and ruled over people. No one will remember you. Also, killing is a perfectly natural and fundamental part of human and animal nature.

  • @MrOrange121 "THOU SHALL NOT KILL" says the Lord. Killing is not natural. It was a consequence of sin, which is un-natural, for our original nature was GOOD. No, we're not animals. The mere fact that we're discussing whether we are animals or not proves we are not. We humans make choices. You have chosen the path of evil, therefore killing for you is a game. Just the same, you will be judged accordingly, here or in the here after!

  • doing project only reason watching this I have no choice.

  • He's is no where near as bad as Caligula.

  • Caesar's ego is what made him a legend not his defiance! he said he was a demigod or a GOD and he sure punished ppl like one so he really must have belived that he was a God. His goal was to conquer the world his ruthelessness shows he was fearless it inspires me in a lot of ways but also makes me sick but then again if u have an enemy that wants u dead only becuase uve become sucessful by the work of ur own hands, fuck them.. i think he went to far letting his ego overhumilate his advesaries..

  • considering he killed more than 1 million when the world population was about 200 million in 0 AD he killed about 1 in 200 people on earth.Thats comparable to Genghis Khan's genocide, just not that much publicised.

  • @sushanalone he was assasinated in 44bc dumb ass

  • @owenluvspie you idiot the world population would not have changed dramatically in 66 years. i think y comment is beyond your little brain to comprehend. my point stands.

  • a good doc that covers not just the popular but the dark side of Julius Caesar that people often hide and are reluctant to bring to light. And remember most of the information here comes from his own account of the Gallic Campaign, we are listening to the winner's version of history.

  • Caesar was bonkers! In the cool way!

  • caesar or elexander are seen as greats generals and Atila, gengia khan or genseric as barbarians because who wrote the history was they fellow-citizen.

  • They make Alesia sound like a field battle -_-

  • @NearVSMello No kidding, no mention of the miles of siege works and the wall behind the roman forces to protect them from the massive force of Gauls to the rear...fail. Anyone who has actually read Conquest of Gaul knows there were other factors to this war than 'Caesar's ambition'

  • @escfromsam You, my friend, are quite correct. :)

  • he wasn't great to me ... a killer will never be a great man to me ... same goes to alexander .

  • @tonsyidibe Do you think your president(s) to be great men?????

    (just a question)

  • @tonsyidibe Conquest made men great then, Caesar was a military and political genius, so was Alexander.

  • @MetallicaFan035 ur talkin like dat becuz u wasn't livin at that time .

  • @tonsyidibe I am talking like that because I know what politics, war, and life were like in those times, and nothing made you more powerful politcally, socially, and financially like military conquest. You are talking like that because you can't speak English correctly lol.

  • @MetallicaFan035 lolz thanks for makin fun of me but i do speak english corretly , i just don't write it corretly lmao , i speak french , but i still think caesar was a push over .... even if it was a time where peeps were like animals huntin

  • @tonsyidibe For one you are black, and I can tell you can't speak English correctly, and Ceasar was far from a push over, he was the most powerful and influetnial man of his era and of all time. Most names for kings like Kaiser, Czar, and others come from Ceasars name. Some just called themselves Ceasar, you would be hard pressed to find a man who left such a lasting impression on history, and the world in general, so I don't know how you can say he was a push over whatsoever.

  • @MetallicaFan035

Agreed. Ceasar is who every man should aspire to be.

  • this docs proves the statement that most mentally ill people (psychopaths in this case) walk outside institutional walls.

  • he never conquered germany.

  • Ceasar did not slaughter people mindlessly, he gave the ample oppurtunity to surrender. But what really made him mad was when his Gallic allies turned against him, thats when he became ruthless. The Gauls also refused to surrender, even when soundly beaten, which is why he cut off some of thier hands. And if Gaul had the ability it would have long ago conquered Rome. That was just the way it was back then. Conquer or be conquered.

  • @MrR1D3R Very true! People don't realize that everyone in those times waged war, war and power meant survival, which is what every cultures ultimate goal is, and Ceasar like every other great leader of the time wanted that for the Roman Empire.

  • Thanks for the video. They stay very true to the essence of Rome, modern interpretations aside.

  • By that they probably meant the farthest extend of the gaullic tribes, who could range all the way into the balkans and eastern europe as well.

  • Ceasar was not "awarded" with a position to fight in Gaul (award was only a pretense), he was sent and expected to die in Gaul.

  • Good Doc but tend to put modern day morals into gaining perspective of ceasar. don't forget for rome to survive it had to be ruthless.

  • @nicknag321 Rome had to be ruthless against its enemies but Caesar was especially and unnecessarily ruthless.

  • What do you mean there were many Gauls? I thought Gaul (Gallia) was what the Romans called the area that is roughly modern France. Caesar writes about it in De Bello Gallico.

  • isn't gaul is france?

  • yea

  • @jologs21

    Gaul is present day france

  • @Margeryish OH thank you..

  • @jologs21 Gaul is France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands with the Rhine as border.

  • @meesromijn OH cool. i never knew that.. hey thanks man.... very interesting history. i love it.

  • @jologs21

This is more clear, pds3 (dot) egloos (dot) com/pds/200707/06/15/d0015015_02071267 (dot) png

Gaul is southern Netherlands and a small part of Germany, but as you can see there were no real borders. Historians say that there isn't a big difference between Gaullic tribes and the Germanic tribes.

  • @jologs21 Oh the link does not work, just go to Google-->Images-->Germania-->(I think the) 3rd image

  • @jologs21 France is the modern day Gaul(geographically)

  • @jologs21 really? no shit?

  • which at that time seperated gaul and italy, like they said, check yourself next time you get excited over a video

  • War is NOT genocide. Back then it was "Conquer or be conquered." Had the Gauls won, would anybody call it genocide? What of the Roman losses in later wars started by the tribes?

  • *Rubicon.

  • w.e asshole, fuck u! i dont feel like with a dumbass who got shit instead of brans

  • Exactly Fuckin Idiot, At those times, if an army crossed river Rubicon, that would mean that you are declaring war on Rome. Fuckin asshole, dumb ass whore who thinks, hes a know it all...

  • Actually, he was declaring war on Pompey, who was trying to remove Caesar's army - and therefore his military and senatorial power from him. Pompey was envious of his growing popularity with the middle and lower classes. That's why he crossed the rubicon, to make a change, and separate allegiances from Pompey.

  • why are you telling me this? I knew that

  • they are smarter than you, stfu, you dont know what ur talking about

  • 6:24

    'Genocide' --No, WAR. Righteous idiot.
