question: i'm gonna dye my hair (not sure yet)... just not sure about the colour... so: would ya like to photoshop MY hair, so i can see what it looks like....
just basic colours, not purple or pink r somthin... so... maybe some kinds of blond or brown. and black... :)
dude, i'm okay with all the steps except the one with the brush that makes the image as in the beggining, i don't know what's the problem with my brush :( is a special brush with special numbers? lol h e l p!!
if some one wants to know about M9 or pakistani cricket, amazing wallpapers, and also short movies you can get this all things through this links must follow this and click on M9 network
thanx man, im trying to make a picture for my great grandma, and i want to try and make her look younger, and so far it looks pretty good.....although im not useing photoshop, im using gimp, but it still works
makes no difference if her hair is blonde or dark brown to begin with it's just as easy to change either way if you know what you're doing- this is a really choppy amateur way of doing this.
Correct. This method does not work if you have darker hair colors such as black or dark brown. You might need to drastically change the image to achieve the hair color you want, and paint a mask around just the hair, leaving the natural color of the photo, with the different colored hair.
Moin, I bought PhotoShop Cs3 yesterday, but I've been working with After Effects a year so a now a bit about Adobe, but my question is: How did you put the brush size on hotkeys? So i dont need to click the line every time. Tell me please.
It doesn't work. I tried [ and { and alot more but nothing works. On forums they say it is but [ but what shall but it doesn't work.
What shall i exactly do? I'm using the healing brush or the eraser tool and wants to decrease or increase the size fast so i dont need to right click and drag.
Ok, thanks :) i have Photoshop CS3 extended. How do i do streaks? iv'e seen lots of other videos saying "press the normal button" i thought that isnt much detailed for the cs3 version, could you help? cheers again.
Hmm... try adjusting the images curves, then coloring the hair... you can make this a layer mask too and paint it on just the hair so that curves adjustment won't affect the other facial features / parts of the image.
Look on the left menu palette, there should be two color swatches, probably black and white. The top one represents the foreground color, and the back one represents the background color.
Since the top one will also represent your brush color, click on it and the color-picker menu should appear :)
that was really good. it helped a lot. it is easier to understand than other tutorials. thanks. i was skeptical about what you were doing with the blue hair at first, but i must say you mad it work. A question though. How did you get the curves menu to have the color out put in the background? are you using a different version of photoshop?
I think that this preview is a new feature of CS3... I think (but i'm not sure) that there might be a little checkbox that says "Preview" in the corner, and if you check it then it will show the preview.
but there's an even easier way, just set a new layer above the image, color the hair part in the color you want it and then change the blending mode to how it looks best (probably soft lay). :3

I have changed my hair color quite often in real life. I enjoy some red in it because of my fair skin. This I would never keep up with.

how do you make the circle thingy smaller?
IreenSafira 1 year ago
@IreenSafira Use the [ key to make it smaller and the ] key to make it bigger. That's on a PC. Don't know how to do it on MAC.

can you make her a blond? even if it is a darker shade of blond?

put hair on her armpits :D LMAO
dale1443 3 years ago
I prefer masking the hair and use the color fill, I find it much more easier and much better effect.
With curves, I would change mode into Lab color and then change back to RGB

Ok, what are you exactly clicking when you changing brush size? There is no [ ] button, you have to press ALT + 8/9 and that doesn't work...
KebleTar 3 years ago
When I have the brush tool selected, im clicking { to make it smaller and } to make it bigger...
They're in between the P and \ keys. That method works for me :-/
ItsSchafe 3 years ago
But there is no key called { and }.
They are on the 7 and 9 key, and i have to press alt-gr + 7/9
KebleTar 3 years ago
You might have a different keyboard if you live in a different country.
Here's what you can do though. You can set your own shortcut if you want by going to
Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > Tools > Increase/Decrease Brush Hardness
ItsSchafe 3 years ago
Ok thanks.
I just think that there is no big different between the keyboards, i got a danish one, the only different between it and a english is å æ ø buttons.

what happens if you want to change from black hair to blonde or any color ? cuz this does not work in this case.
eclipsxe2000 3 years ago

ItsSchafe 3 years ago
I prefer using the extraction tool in PS which is much more precisely than using the mask method
Smearlap 3 years ago
Agreed- that can be useful too, but for a beginner's tutorial it's a whole new tool to have to explain too :-P
ItsSchafe 3 years ago
What happens if when you press on vector mask it becomes a grey square with a white circle in it? Pelase answer :)
WMDraco 3 years ago
Hmm... check what hotkeys you have enabled for it by going to
Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > (Shortcuts For) Tools > Decrease / Increase Brush hardness
They should be set to { and }
ItsSchafe 3 years ago

It has it's own hotkey.
{ will decrease the brush size
} will increase the brush size :)

like paint over everything so its white, or like extracting it from its background?
