    Check out this video ^^

It's about hair colour change but in easier way. Thank you

  • dude, i'm okay with all the steps except the one with the brush that makes the image as in the beggining, i don't know what's the problem with my brush :( is a special brush with special numbers? lol h e l p!!

  • I have changed my hair color quite often in real life. I enjoy some red in it because of my fair skin. This I would never keep up with.

  • how do you make the circle thingy smaller?

  • @IreenSafira Use the [ key to make it smaller and the ] key to make it bigger. That's on a PC. Don't know how to do it on MAC.

  • @omgbygollywow Thanks...

  • hmmm, using the curves, that's a really good way, thx for the video, it helped me a lot^^

  • pen tool or QM the hair and create adjustment layer or create new layer from selection and then hue/saturation and check colorize.

  • Are u a mental case? That doesn't look real at all

  • the colour doesent but the realism was exelent

  • thanx man, im trying to make a picture for my great grandma, and i want to try and make her look younger, and so far it looks pretty good.....although im not useing photoshop, im using gimp, but it still works

  • thankyou! i never really thought of using curves for this, very cool ! :)

  • Great tutorial - thanks very much

  • then*

  • Tahnk u! But have other problem HOW DO LONG HAIR> ? pleaze help me ;D

  • makes no difference if her hair is blonde or dark brown to begin with it's just as easy to change either way if you know what you're doing- this is a really choppy amateur way of doing this.

  • can you make her a blond? even if it is a darker shade of blond?

  • put hair on her armpits :D LMAO

  • I prefer masking the hair and use the color fill, I find it much more easier and much better effect.

With curves, I would change mode into Lab color and then change back to RGB

  • She starts with brown hair not black and it goes reddish brown

  • Thank you very much

  • good job but you should have used a natural hair colour

  • great video ^^

  • what site do you go to to do this?

  • You have a sexy voice, hehe

  • omg calming

  • who's the girl? can i have her pic? i wanna change her hair color 2!!!

  • I think I just googled her lol... I can't remember what I searched though :-/

    Sorry! :)

  • lol =))

  • what's wrong in using windows!!!!!!!!!

    ;-9 ugh

  • nice tip

  • Ok, what are you exactly clicking when you changing brush size? There is no [ ] button, you have to press ALT + 8/9 and that doesn't work...

  • When I have the brush tool selected, im clicking { to make it smaller and } to make it bigger...

They're in between the P and \ keys. That method works for me :-/

  • But there is no key called { and }.

They are on the 7 and 9 key, and i have to press alt-gr + 7/9

  • You might have a different keyboard if you live in a different country.

Here's what you can do though. You can set your own shortcut if you want by going to

Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > Tools > Increase/Decrease Brush Hardness

  • Ok thanks.

I just think that there is no big different between the keyboards, i got a danish one, the only different between it and a english is å æ ø buttons.

  • Hey, i was wondering if i could send you a pic of me, and you'll change my hair color to brown.

  • sorry I didn't put enough attention, it's XP, isn't it?

  • what recording program are you using, how did you config it and which o.s are you using? thanks

  • what happens if you want to change from black hair to blonde or any color ? cuz this does not work in this case.

  • Correct. This method does not work if you have darker hair colors such as black or dark brown. You might need to drastically change the image to achieve the hair color you want, and paint a mask around just the hair, leaving the natural color of the photo, with the different colored hair.

  • I prefer using the extraction tool in PS which is much more precisely than using the mask method

  • Agreed- that can be useful too, but for a beginner's tutorial it's a whole new tool to have to explain too :-P

  • What happens if when you press on vector mask it becomes a grey square with a white circle in it? Pelase answer :)

  • Hmm... check what hotkeys you have enabled for it by going to

Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > (Shortcuts For) Tools > Decrease / Increase Brush hardness

    They should be set to { and }

  • Moin, I bought PhotoShop Cs3 yesterday, but I've been working with After Effects a year so a now a bit about Adobe, but my question is: How did you put the brush size on hotkeys? So i dont need to click the line every time. Tell me please.

  • It has it's own hotkey.

{ will decrease the brush size

} will increase the brush size :)

  • It doesn't work. I tried [ and { and alot more but nothing works. On forums they say it is but [ but what shall but it doesn't work.

What shall i exactly do? I'm using the healing brush or the eraser tool and wants to decrease or increase the size fast so i dont need to right click and drag.

  • yeah I tried that too, and doesn't work, anyone knows? tell us please thanks

  • 06:20 ( + further ) i dont understand it ?

  • Try checking for them in your "Windows" menu on the top section of the screen.

  • i dont seem to have all the things on the right side of the screen, how do i get them?

  • so can you run over the hair colour to make it 2 tone so you can have highlites in the hair?

  • Ok, thanks :) i have Photoshop CS3 extended. How do i do streaks? iv'e seen lots of other videos saying "press the normal button" i thought that isnt much detailed for the cs3 version, could you help? cheers again.

  • why is it so clear on yours, mine is lik not good lol.

  • hmm it can vary on the image...

check and see if you have one of these problems

Is your hair light enough -Or are you trying to change black hair color to blonde.

is your photo blurry? is it a big enough size (not something like 320x480)

  • n1 done, could make a tutorial how to change blond hair to black hair?

  • oomg,

    your brilliant.

    haha =)

i would have never have figured out how to do this.

  • i have adobe photoshop 7.0 will it matter?

  • U are using cs3...right?

  • Right

  • Ughhh this doesn't work on my hair because mine is very nearly black in the image. Darker then the hair in your image. :/ Any tips?

  • Hmm... try adjusting the images curves, then coloring the hair... you can make this a layer mask too and paint it on just the hair so that curves adjustment won't affect the other facial features / parts of the image.

  • I have CS2, does that make anything different?

  • it shouldn't

  • how do you change the size of the brush without right clicking? :P

  • { will decrease the brush size

} will increase the brush size.

  • How do I change the color of the brush ffs!

  • Look on the left menu palette, there should be two color swatches, probably black and white. The top one represents the foreground color, and the back one represents the background color.

Since the top one will also represent your brush color, click on it and the color-picker menu should appear :)

  • DUDE UR VIDEOS ARE EASY AND BOMB!

  • uo man when i do blinding think my all picture change not only hair i don t know why help me out

  • Are you making sure you use a layer mask to paint out all the excess curves adjustment on the areas such as the face, hands, etc.

    Thats around 2:35

  • ye ye tnx it worked :)

  • what version are you using?

  • CS3

  • Is it the same for CS2? :/

  • should be.

  • this is not the best thing to show people how to do cuz women everywhere have this done on magazines in movies everywhere like OMG

  • Whats the quick key he uses to enlarge the brush size?

  • { will decrease it

    } will increase it :-)

  • i have a question.

do you have to pay for photoshop or can you just download it?and if you can download it can you give me a good website to download it from.

  • It's like, £500.00 to buy.

You can illeagaly download it - but I wouldn't reccomend it.

  • how do you illeaglly download it?

  • Limewire, or Torrents -but like I said, I wouldnt reccomnd it.

  • you can download a free 30 day trial on the website

  • that was really good. it helped a lot. it is easier to understand than other tutorials. thanks. i was skeptical about what you were doing with the blue hair at first, but i must say you mad it work. A question though. How did you get the curves menu to have the color out put in the background? are you using a different version of photoshop?

  • Thanks :D

I think that this preview is a new feature of CS3... I think (but i'm not sure) that there might be a little checkbox that says "Preview" in the corner, and if you check it then it will show the preview.

Like I said, im not quite sure on that one.

  • nice tut!

but there's an even easier way, just set a new layer above the image, color the hair part in the color you want it and then change the blending mode to how it looks best (probably soft lay). :3

  • Can you show us the easiest way to white out everything around an image? I know there is a term for that but I don't know it. Thanks!

  • like paint over everything so its white, or like extracting it from its background?

  • I would like to take a photo or scan of a round coin and remove the background around it leaving the background all white.

  • Sure, I can throw something together on that soon.

  • Cool. Thanks!

  • If I wanted to try it myself what function would I use? I think I have PS7. Thanks

  • this is cool.. nice.. keep'em comming
