  • its getting dry.... THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!!!

  • COLORFULL!!! xD

  • why would you even waste your time? Its shred to shit.

  • so THAT'S how they make a dementor's cloak.

  • wtf, happened too the snake..did someone go crazy with the shovel and machete..must of put up a real good fight..lol..whack a snake...maybe ten times should do the trick....

  • @deathpolice believe it or not freebreeze works to remove odor or you can dust it with baking soda

  • @Reptidude100 Yeah its a rattler- Its a green hide off a massaga rattler( timber rattler) black morph.

I agree it does look like a rat snake but a rat snake is all black. when she holds it up you can see the rattle. This is a classic appearance of a hide that was hit by a car. Too bad it was a nice snake.

  • @Reptidude100

Yes, do watch the vid and you'll see the rattle. They are quite common in this area and they are not killed for fun. This one was killed by someone who had never seen one before and grabbed the nearest item available, in this case a shovel. If someone with more experience had been there it may well have been captured and released in a remote spot in the hills. What will not happen is having it loose in the yard, they are quite dangerous you know. Cheers

  • @tdkulta They are Dangerous, What state are you from? Im guessing northern to north eastern.

I have a few of these hides myself and many diamond backs. Glad to help anyway I can.

  • @thewildbull Just North of San Francisco. We are pretty much surround by National Forest. Beautiful, but should watch your step... ;-)

  • @tdkulta I kill them for fun. I eat them, but it is for fun. Don't tell me you don't enjoy killing things, it is natural animal instinct.

  • @tdkulta

Exactly. Idiots will be idiots, it's people like Reptidude that will end up meeting his maker from the bite of a "harmless reptile" one day.

  • @tdkulta back on the farm ( Australia)at times we get ( poisonous) eastern brown"s & tiger snakes around the house yard..we've always killed them..average 2 or 3 per summer.. when i go back home, visit my fathers grave ...there is a grave opposite ..of a one year old girl...she was staying over with her grandparents,. when they put her to bed in the bassinet, that was on the veranda....minutes later heard her cry..she was bitten by a deadly brown snake ...it must of been amongst the bedding...

  • @Reptidude100 its got a rattle attached to it hoss. please watch the entire video before posting some inane comment that only gonna eventually make you look like a fool. Have wonderful day :-D

  • what did you skin it with, a chain saw?

  • what kind of oil do you use?

  • i am 13 and ran over a rattle snake with a freaking shredder and it looked better then that

  • that skin is fuuuucked up dude

  • what does tanning a snake do? what is it for?

  • @OOOdatsme u can sell the skin or use it for decor

  • @Plaszow100

It actually came out rather nice, I have some shots of it on her wall. what you are looking at here is the inner side of the skin, not the pretty side.

  • what did you hit it with a fucking lawn mower.. that skin is fucked

  • dude why is ur skin all messed up?

  • what kind of oil do you use?

  • I just tacked my first skin today! is there any houshold oil or anything to use as an oil? preferably something around the house

  • that skin aint even worth tanning.. Either you didnt know what you were doing when skinning it or you used wayy to much force killing it. Rattlers are easy to kill jus wack them real hard in the head with a shovel and then one slice with the shovel to cut its head off

  • i just got done doin this today

  • Hey! I don't get in this channel much, but I've noticed a bit of conversation going on, I like it! Especially Wild Bill... Thanks man, learning from ya... ;-)

  • wow, you really sliced it up, even for a shovel, maybe aim for the head next time?

I would have thrown that away.

  • Actually came out kinda pretty... all about context ya know... ;-)

Wasn't planned... not really hunters them...

  • lmao! That's a horrrendous hide (and yes I saw the post about the shovel.) When I was a kid, my dad and I used a mixture of rubbing alcohol and glycerin. It worked well, and I still have a few hides (20 years later), but found that the hides became somewhat stiff after time. We now use a product called, "SnakeTan." Works GREAT and they stay pliable years later. He orders it and the maker sold the copyright. Sorry for not much more info.

  • nice kill....i tried to kill mine nicely with out messing the body skin but my brother threw a huge rock to it and i ended up with two little holes .......

  • sew it up before u stretch it, then after it dries cut the threads out. iff u dont youll risk the holes opening further as it dries. hope this helps. -Bull

  • hey wildbull, would i use the oil or glycerin if i want to put the hide on leather(a belt or rifle sling), and what kind of oil?

  • glycerin, oil will keep u from being able to glue it with adhesive properly. after you salt and dry it you will have a stiff skin, rub the glycerin inti the leather side and let it dry. it might take a couple tries to get it where u want it. just make sure you get all the salt off and peel any dried flesh or fatty tissue that u might have missed. once the glycerin dries you can trim with scissors and glue it down, iff on a belt or rifle sling remember to scuff up the leather for a good bond.

  • r u in ur pool?!?! lol

  • Yup! ;-)

  • quit messin with road kill lady! (unless it's in really good shape!) lol!

  • First rattler... shovel... work with what ya got!

    ;-)

  • what if you wanted to make it mailable how would you do that?

  • use wood glue if u want to mount it on a board- this will keep it from wrinkling in the future- or u can use the oil or glycerin to soften the hide for other crafts. if u mount it to a board- after its glued and the glue dries- clear it with a spray polyurethane or brush it on. this will keep all the scales and youll have a beautiful skin to look at indefinately. I hope this helps all who read- Thanks for this post it was fun to watch- dont worry about the negativity, idiots are everywhere.

  • that was the answer i was looking for all day thanks........i got my first mojave green rattler its in pretty good shape but i didnt know if i could coat the scales or not

  • wet salt a rub with more salt. this will remove the moisture. now fill the head cavity and base of the tail with salt. let it sit in the sun and dry on a warm day for the day. now take all the salt from the skin, try not to leave any- but break the dryed salt from the head and rattle butt- but repack over -repeat this until the areas are dry. after all this clean all the salt from everywhere(important) then u have a stiff hide- remove the nails and trim with scissors. u can now mount the hide

  • stretch u will be able to see through the hide- line the markings up, and nail lightly from side to side space the nails a few inches apart and work the whole skin, then start adding nails to shape the hide the way u want it. (if it has the head on it) be careful and open the mouth- with toothpicksopen the fangs and put something in the mouth to wedge it open and the fangs bared. ok- salt the piss out of the hide- lightly rub the salt into the skin- youl notice it getting wet- good-remove the

  • but of the rattle- then easily cut through the bones on the neck and tail. peel the skin back carefully not to rip it, at different times in the snakes life the skin will be thinner then other times.- dry with some paper towels, scrape lightly with the razor blade but dont dig the edge in as to not risk cutting the hide. this will remove the excess meat left behind. use some very thin wire nails or thin diameter finish nails and start toward the center of the hide at the widest part, as u -

  • I love tanning snake hides- its so great to see a cute woman who isnt afraid of snakes. heres some tips for you next hide tanning that will give u a perfect result.- Ive done close to 60 snakes and learned this from various resources. a rattler is easy to kill- A quick wack on the head and they'll usually roll for a bit but theyre dead. u dont have to cut off the head unless u want to. either way use a sharp razor blade and go center of the belly all the way from the throat/front to the

  • thats a pretty messed up skin

  • not a bad clip...i salt cured mine before oiling they will last longer btw don`t let the stupid picks that leave stupid comments bother you....

  • I don't mind people who don't like killing things, I'll for saving the planet and all, and I don't like killing things... BUT... when the things are liable to kill me or a member of my family, or a friend', or even freekshow, the critter loses.

I don't mind people disagreeing with me, but have a discussion, don't just spew stupid shit... That's my rant for the day! ;-)

  • i hate snakes just killem and i hate tree hugers i think we should let all of them see how much wild animals lovem i bet bears would rilly love the hippys

  • Looks like that snake got ran over with a lawnmower.

  • what did u cut the skin with a fucking saw ???

  • @enriquecarloslopezsi she must have taken it to the saw mill i think .

  • Interesting...

    5/5

  • cool

  • Yeah that would be pretty cool I would like to see how it turned out. I can skin them out pretty quick but the pinning the to the board takes quite a while to do it right. If one nail is to tight on one side the other is makes the patterns all crooked and fucked up looking. I also deflesh them so the tanning solution will soak in that is also time consuming. But rattlesnake skins look so cool when they are finished.

  • I use a staple gun. You can control it better as you stretch the skin.

  • She's using oil here, but then the snake sat in a commercial tanning solution for awhile. Now he's pinned to the wall upstairs, I'll get a shot of him sometime.

  • Scum-sucking turdball of sickish pig

  • qoute:

"First off, leave your uneducated shit off my page. I am sick of stupid people, with whatever, leaving stupid irrelevant shit on my page, or in comment replies."

But it's ok for you to leave stupid shit on others pages?

  • When the snake is outside your bedroom door and you almost step on it...well...sometimes the snake dies. Usually it gets released upstream, but that's not always an option. They're quite tasty too.

So next time we have one, how about you come catch it??? Hmmm???

  • No reason to kill them.

  • how about thay can kill u is that a good reason?

  • By the way:

    xxfreekxshowxhoxx (2 weeks ago)

    Stupid cunt.

    xxfreekxshowxhoxx (4 days ago)

Oh, you finally have the nuts to reply? I hate you with a bloody fucking passion, I hope you get bitten by a rattle snake and die. I really fucking do. I'd honestly laugh.

This is stupid shit. You want to have a conversation? Fine. Drop the Holier than Thou crap and give people a reason to listen.

  • Why don't you just hop off a cliff. If you don't like the videos don't look them up dumbshit.

  • Good argument... try again?

  • Yet another good argument...

btw, are you a sadist or what? 'No reason to kill them'? Terribly cruel to skin them alive!

  • What did you use to tan the skin with? I have used both glycerin and anti freez and they both worked pretty well. Also how did the skin come out and what do you plan to do with it? I skinned a rattlesnake that I ran over the other day and Im tanning him with anti freez. He will probably be a hat band.

  • What kind was it?

  • Actually the roomates got it with a shovel, they never encountered one before. The rattle is still attached, it's rather small, you can see it near the end of the video.

    I would have used my .45 myself, but I wasn't home... ;-)

  • That snake skin is fucked up.Looks like you fucking shot it with a shotgun several times and then ran it over. At least you tryed to salvage what was left of it though.

  • far from perfect but not bad for a first attempt
