  • THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I've been looking high and low for a video on how to custom fit jams. Going to start it tonight.

  • This is a very well put together video, but in my humble opinion it's missing a few things. I would have dadoed the side jambs to receive the header for starters. and 1 quarter inch reveal is a tiny bit too much for me. I'd go with 3/16 total for the sides, and 1/8 for the header. One of the trickiest parts of setting a door jamb is making sure everything is square and plumb. A little more detailed instruction on that would be very helpful for anyone trying it out for the first time.

  • @styllz27 same....

  • I prefer scewing too..it's fun!!! :)

  • I've been looking for this info forever! very thorough thank you SO MUCH!

  • Thanks Wayne, I've been struggling with this project for a while.

I cannot use a pre-hung on my retro farm house. Your tips on laying it all out on a bench first, and clear footage of how to shim and set hinges have helped tremendously!

  • I like this video, straight and to the point, a couple of rules I didn't know about were illuminated. Thanks.

  • i wish you would have recorded how to install the door itself including mortising the door hinges and drilling the holes for the door knob. this video is very helpful though

  • This video was very very helpful for me as I built a new shed and had to hang a door. It worked out well. Thanks.
