what's your launch technique, tire pressure, and gas level and everything? with my 3000 stall torque converter, drag bags, drag radials, and a shitty launch, the best i could get in ny is 13.2.

I believe this was at 24 psi.

I heat up the tires BIG TIME, shifting from first into second and hovering around 60 mph on the speedo.

I launch in 3rd (that doesn't make a difference since the auto will start in first anyway).

I slightly load the car, launching at about 900-1000 rpm. I can't emphasize enough that it needs to just be at the start of the squatting point.

Then I just pound it as soon as the light turns green. Full throttle immediately.

i have a 1988 pontiac firebird 5.0 v8 how would my car sound with headers or even just new mufflers..i wanna get my car faster nd make it sound like yours any ideas

if you change the mufflers it will sound alot different but headers will wake it up sound and performance

does it pass emissions testing? I would like to do headers but not if I can't pass TX state inspection.

I am not sure. I sold it before emissions came up. Probably not though with no cats as there is a visual inspection in addition to the sniffer. However I could tune it so it would pass the sniffer with no cats.

Tuning it like that is only good for the test, nothing else. So immediately it needs to be retuned.

Pacesetter Headers, No Cats. Everything else but the tuning was stock, including the tires, airbox, converter, etc.
