Shizuka Arakawa, World Championships -04 (Short Program)

When Sasha Cohen does a FLUTZ instead of a LUTZ it's like there's nothing wrong, like Dick Button doesn't comment at all. But Shizuka here clearly did a Lutz, now he's saying she didn't reach far back enough? Please. I love Sasha in all other aspects but in terms of jumps, Sasha has problems and Shizuka is much better at jumping than Sasha.

What the hell is Dick Button's problem? He's a real Dick indeed. He's also very harsh on Irina Slutskaya's layback, but always praising Michelle Kwan's when infact Michelle's layback's much worse. Anyway, Shizuka won Worlds and Olympics, how's that Dick?! Dick in your face!!

she is a brilliant skater, but the dress looks to me like McDonalds was fighting with KFC on who had the better chickin nuggets...no one was a winner here !! she is such a great skater that the dress really doent matter that much!@

Dick button is an arse, he's as annoying as Scott Hamilton. I too prefer CBC or Eurosport.

Shizuka's speed is tremendous in this program. haha I'm glad the female commentator told Dick where to shove it.

Oh he knows a lot, he's just a DICK often times. Definitely American-biased, but always quick to point out any mistakes made by American skaters as well.

dont wry o.o;; dick button (th commentator) criticizes just about EVERYONE, especialy skaters who r non-american (i seriously mean this, pay attention to th commentary when he's speaking!)

as a commentator, i think peggy fleming is MUCH bettr n she seems to b more knowledgeable anyway (besides, dick button could BARELY land triple jumps when he won olympic gold, so what would he know?XP)

Ummm... Dick Button was teh fatehr of triples. No one else was doing triples all that much during his time. Maybe he does not know all teh mechanics of triples but he knows alot about the skating skills, choreographic, and presentation aspects of skating.

Leave Dicky alone. Sometimes he can be ornary but gosh darn it, get him fired up and he makes the best comments.

i wasn't complaining about dick's comments on the jumps, i was more personally annoyed by the straight-line step comments, and notice he INQUIRES peggy fleming about it as well. and even if he's the "father of triple jumps," i dont remember him landing the triple lutz or axel. and i'm sorry, but skating has been completely revamped and you can't compare "presentation" and all that between now and then (let's not forget there were compulsories when he skated).

I know, he's damn annoying! Shizuka's footwork was GREAT! What pisses me off about Dick Button is that 95% of the "postive" comments he makes about non-American skaters are said begrudgingly or as a back-handed compliment. He's stuck in the 1950's or something.

I know, if it's Kwan or Cohen it's like they're the best but they're not than most of the time he's biased. That's why I

prefer CBC (I'm canadian) or Eurosport. They're fair.

Agreed - although Shizuka badly cheated that combo. I love this music though, it reminds me of Shen & Zhao's 2002 Olympic SP, which was awesome.
