  • The Gaboon's look like sock puppets when they stick there body out with the food in the gobs

  • see i would rather an australian brown snake or inland taipan bite me than a gaboon viper.......... better chance of survival. don't you think?

  • Do you have favorite snakes base on their personality?

  • @hoopsheavenpa Mr. Brown

  • I've never been happier not to be a rat. Congrats man, Gaby is one of the most beautiful vipers I've ever seen

  • Do you have any non-venomous snakes in your collection ?

  • @holmanftw2212 look at his viperkeeper 101 vid

  • Hi Viper Keeper, what was the first snake you ever had?.I still have my first snake(corn snake) they live a long time, do venemous snakes live as long as constrictors?

  • What kind of viper is Gabby? sorry if i spelled her name wrong

  • @GishDiva Gaboon Viper

  • @viperkeeper thank you she is really neat :)

  • Gaboons & the other really big vipers (sorry I'm not a snake expert) are just.. amazing to look at, they look so menacing even at a distance, I saw a biiig eastern diamond back here in FL when I was a kid and just watched it go on by I think I was about 5 at the time.. my mom nearly had a heart attack when she saw what had to be a good 6 foot snake just casually lean up, look at me & go on.. I've been a fan of them since then, thanks for showing us these so often VK.

  • Gorgeous!!! Thanks...Can't be tamed, thats what makes them so desire-able...they are the ultimate wild creature. Thank you!!

  • do u make all ya own vivs , very interesting videos,

  • @davekinda2000 I do't build the cages but I do add the lights & everything else that goes inside.. Watch my Viperkeeper 101 video.

  • rude? it's a VIPER!

  • gabby sure is a beautiful one. <3 her

  • The fangs on the viper looks like just skin 0___0

  • eyes dialated=ready to strike???

  • @TheRyansnyder Yes, more or less...

  • @viperkeeper I think he was talking about her fangs.

  • They dont look sharp at all! how come it just looks like piece of flesh hanging when they bite.

  • @Attila2452126 I have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @viperkeeper i think they mean the fangs, they are inside the fleshy bit and come out like a cats claw when ready to strike. It looks like she must use them to manouvre the prey further into her mouth once they have hold, is that right?

  • @Attila2452126 Ahhh I know what you're talking about. They have a sheath that covers their fang, till they are plunging it into the prey animal, then it lifts up like a curtain.... Or you can this of it as a foreskin on an un-circumsized male human, same sort of deal.

  • @Attila2452126 They are sharp....Believe me!!! I have several snake fang sheds in my possession (snakes shed their fangs as they grow, and to make sure that they never 'blunt'). It doesn't take a great deal of pressure to puncture your skin, they are natures equivilent of the needle that you would see used in an emergency department of a hospital. For the record, no, I have never purposely tried to "stick" myself, but I've done it on apples and they go in VERY easily.

  • @Attila2452126 there is flesh surrounding the fangs

  • do you let your pets go to your bed and sleep with you ?

  • @cheetahhook You Sir get a thumb's up

  • These animals are just amazing!

  • @pyrusbrawler2030 When I have the time....

  • @viperkeeper may you please repeat your video and study it.Thank you:).P.S Ilike your videos!

  • @viperkeeper because when you shooted in I saw at the end of his bloody ass something its either its parts or a baby can you please look at it agin.Thank you:)P.S.like your video!

  • @viperkeeper because when you shooted in I saw at the end of his bloody ass something its either its parts or a baby can you please look at it agin.Thank you:)

  • @viperkeeper was that mouse pregnant?

  • @pyrusbrawler2030 Not that I was aware of...

  • The Thing is, you cant tell by a snakes "Face", if she feels unpleasant/is bothered or not. She may look like a peaceful, calm Snake, but u never know, if she is about to strike or not:D That Clip scared the shit out of me:D Love the gaboon tho^^

From "Peaceful" to "I fuckin own everything, standin in my way" in 0,00001 Secs:D

    Awesome^^

  • She looks so intimidating!!

  • Does Gabby have fang's? Cause i don't see them when she bite's.

  • @oLiiLaGGzZo LOL!!

  • @oLiiLaGGzZo about 2 inch fangs...

  • @oLiiLaGGzZo Gabby has daggers i'm guessing around this long __________ or longer

  • @jmp17x About 1.5 inches

  • @oLiiLaGGzZo You see them briefly at 5:25

  • can a reticulated python breed with a black mamba to create a larger venomus snake than the king cobra?

  • @chadthomas889 No, gennerally animals can only breed within their species, ie: Black Mambas could possibly breed with a Green Mamba but not with a Cape Cobra.

  • viperkeeper needs a real wife.

  • @alriha77 ....Uhmmmm...how do you know he doesn't have one?

  • do u work for something that involes this snakes or are they ur pets

  • @123SethE They are NOT pets....I own and operate Deadly Beautiful Zoological.

  • that looks like jam in a donut

  • viperkeeper I'm curious but have you ever actually been bitten by any of the snakes you've owned? If so do you keep anti-venom on-hand yourself? Just curious because some of the snakes you have are very lethal (Although I'm 100% sure you know that haha) Just curious on those two questions..

  • Did anyone else jump when gabby struck? I almost shit my pants

  • i would take a rodent over a snake anyday as a pet

  • Beautiful specimen... very nice strike.

Looks really strong and healthy thumbs up.

  • is that snake gaboon viper

  • love the gaboon its one of my fave vipers

  • uppload more vids ffs! this is amazing!

  • can you breed EG with WG?

  • @Truthseeker4449 Yes but why?

  • I hope that animal kills you soon!!

  • @brotherhood302 Ever hear of karma you jackass?

  • That's the last snake I EVER wanna get a bite from!! :P

  • that pattern makes me want to pick her up and give her a big hug. Then go to the hospital.

  • Do you have locks for your viv doors?

  • @herpa8dan Yes, I don't use them normally. Only 2 people have access to the room. If somebody got into the room, they would be able to access the viv's anyway if they were inclined to do so.

  • @viperkeeper Ah right on, I'm not sure on the requirements of keeping hots in the states. Over in the UK I believe you need to have two pains of locked glass on the front of the viv (don't quote me on this...) along with a locking door into the room etc...A lot of requirements for obvious reasons! What is your opinion on venomoids? feel free to private message me if you'd prefer. Lovely snake none the less!

  • does prekilled food have same food values as live food and is prekilled food filled with preservatives and other things that might not agree with snakes indegestion systemm? seems like live food would be more healthier.

  • @wildcc1 Well yes, but snakes live quite a long time in captivity on dead food.

  • Beautifull viper

  • Go to the South Eastern Hot Herp Society website. They have a section on how to do it. Yes, it involves the government, yes it's expensive.

  • she have a big head

  • I miss Gabby videos :c

How do you thaw out your rats? Mine always seem to explode and smell horrible x-x

  • Their speed never ceases to amaze me! Beautiful snake Al, and a great video.

  • do you have antivenom on location sir?

  • @TONYE17 Yes

  • I am stunned! ive seen gaboon vipers (correct me if im wrong) on documentaries before, but i cannot believe the size of its head, jaws and fangs. Seeing it like this and not filmed in the wild gives you a greater sense of scale and wholly molly! Thant is amazing, scary, incredible! Great vid :)

  • gaboons seem so incredibly serious, theyre as still as a rock until they strike, seems to be a very unpredictable animal

  • NNNOOOUUUUUU, Gabby, that was baad!

  • hi nice video and nice info on the side, i do have a question i got a male gaboon, and hes kinda acting differently too. Can it be that he's feels the need to breed ? he's over 3 years old. i havent seen him acting like this before. Moves alot and keeps hugging the glas. doesnt strike tho. and wont eat for a while now. (3 weeks)

hope to hear ur thoughts on it. thnx

  • "No, Gabby!" Ahaha I love it :) Truly beautiful.

  • balls of steel.

  • what does it mean when there eyes are dialated

  • @BRYthereptileguy Ready to strike.

  • Should they not eat head first?? Anyway my real question is could you do a video of how to handle a wild snake, you see people picking them up by the tail, couldn't they strick from there, and what does a snake hook do?? I'm in the uk, so no worries about me going and getting something like the beast you have there. thanks jon

  • @chefslot Some snakes can be 'tailed' others not, you just need to know which. Snakes will mostly eat head first but tend not to be too picky.

  • It's a damn shame Gabbys are venomous....so beautiful. If they weren't venomous, I'd own one in a heartbeat.

  • you seem like a very optimistic person

  • 3 years passed did the snake die yet?

  • @lance1236451 why?

  • Are you going to be present at the next Hamburg Pa, reptile show?? if so i would like some advice in keeping a Gaboon.

  • @daysavoo1 Yes, but I suggest you read a book.

  • @viperkeeper although i agree about reading books and other material they often contradict each other and then you have to ask a keeper which method would be the best...so therefor i believe that if..no not if but when...i keep dedlies i would give as much advice as i could rather than just saying read a book....the book may tell them that it is a hard decision to keep a venomous snake but doesnt really show them the complications of keeping them. but as a keeper yourself you know whats involved

  • i think i'd be using some longer tongs!

  • If you get bit do you have anti venom o.O?

  • @xXCannonXx yes

  • @viperkeeper yay :D I like to look at snakes but i dont like to touchy

  • @viperkeeper Is the anti-venom really expensive

  • @brooklynboy521 anywhere's from $100 per vial to $2100 per vial

  • The gaboon viper has the prettiest markings than any other snake. And they must be one of the fastest. Thank you for posting your videos.....

  • The gaboon viper (Gabby) makes a very entertaining video. That is one awesome snake. It would be impossible to see this snake in leaf litter. Do the mice have to be a certain temperature or can they smell them..........Thank you for these video post.

  • WOW thats to fast if you are to close. But the most pretty snake in the world. Nice vid

  • i LOVE gaboon vipers

    my favorite venomous reptile.

    really nice video!!

  • You know whats crazy, these are one of the few poisonous snakes that give you no hint or warning if and when they strike. Such a scary snake, but my absolute favorite

  • wow She is on big and beautifull snake I must say you must have balls of steel ..lol

  • I love watching your stuff, I will never own a snake but it's cool to see.

  • Gabby is a fat girl.

  • How much did it cost?

  • beatuful gaboon

  • i flinched when the viper struck at the rat...

  • that is one big fat ass viper

  • Hay Al.., boy if you didn't know what you were looking for you wouldn't know She was in there, she takes camouflage to another level lol close call there.

  • I think Gabby(?) is awesome.

  • uhh? you need longer feeding tongs also :)

  • O_O....scary lol

  • ViperKeeper, do you have any pythons such as the Ball even thought there small?

  • et some money for a biger terrarium...

  • Nice video Al, keep up the good work..... I'm rebuilding my collection now when i have a new place for my venomous snakes... i will try and make some videos soon too!.

    Cheers, Ronny

  • Nice video Al, keep up the good work..... I'm rebuilding my collection now when i have a new place for my venomous snakes... i will try and make some videos soon too!.

    Cheers, Ronny

  • At 3:45, Gabby's saying "No Al, you go in the cage." LOL.

  • 8:58 MORE PLEASE

  • What is the White thing on the cage door?

  • does it have poisin or did u milk it?

  • @Wafflez3932 It's venomous and no I don't milk them

  • @viperkeeper what if it somehow bites u? that would be bad u might die

  • @Wafflez3932 That's the breaks

  • @viperkeeper what does that mean?

  • Great Example U can NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN WITH ANY SNAKE BC THEY ARE NOT DOMESTICATED . AWESOME GABOON BTW

  • wow gaboon vipers are just so pretty, but thats whats so deadly. so innocent and cute till it lunges at ya and venomates ya

  • She's beautiful!!

  • great !

  • great video thats a very nice looking bitis rhinoceros! XD

  • No kidding, snakes dont listen now do they, animals like the gabon should be left where they belong, not in your house.

  • @buffspringfield They're NOT in my house.

  • I just love Gaboons !

  • holy crap your a brave man, she is very beautiful!

have you ever been bitten in the years of handling any of your species?

  • beautiful gaboon! i have a question. has that rat been gutted? i've heard of people gutting them so that the snake doesn't have to ingest any of the nasty junk in their digestive tracks.

  • @SheepGo2Hell2 WTF do you think happens in the wild?? Of course I don't gut the rats, where do you think all of the nutrients are....

  • Comment removed

  • @SheepGo2Hell2 That was not rude, that was incredulous, that happens when someone asks a dumb question not based in common sense. I know of no zoo that removes the healthest part of the meal for their captive Birds. The whole idea is to reproduce their nutritional requirements as close to nature as possible.

  • wow look at the fangs on her!

  • I think gabby's are one of the most beautiful snakes in the world. But like they say beauty has a price.

  • Lol @ GHFF77

  • How do you manage to keep one of these?

  • @GHFF77 Try being a bit more precise....Keeping a Gaboon....no big deal as ong as you stay out of the kill zone.

  • Viperkeeper, your the man, your balls are huge. I mean I'm a constrictor kinda guy, I have a ball python, and a anaconda, but your collection is amazing,WOW!!!!!!!!!

  • wicked beautiful, deadly gorgeous, i cant think of a better way to describe these snakes. i respect what you do viper keeper. this is, by far, the most stimulating hobby out there

  • The most amazing natural camo! And she completely stood her ground outside the cage after she struck at you.

Definately NOT a snake to come up against in the wild. ( or any other venue..)

  • You're right...must not have had any coffee in my system.

  • awesome video man, that rats mangled up balls kinda grossed me out but other than that, wicked video! beautiful snakes

  • nice snake dude

  • Scary shit!

  • She's fantastic!

00:34 made me jump lol totally unexpected!

    and 10:37 whoa!

  • that was funny when he said "The room is sorta safe" :)

  • most of the time they do hehe. This snake is gorgeous

  • not always

  • One of the things I have notice/learned about venomous snakes in watching your videos is that they have fang "sheaths". Do the sheaths cover the fangs at all times or completely retract when the snake strikes?

  • They get pushed back during a bite

  • How much would a Gaboon Viper cost?

  • Too little

  • thats feeding, perfect dude !

  • that is my favorite venomous snake, though i dont think i would ever keep one

  • beautiful snake my favourite! you must have some serious balls

  • wow....i do love snakes...they are so adorable...but so scary....

  • my favorite snake... no, reptile ever! gaby is beautiful. i dont think i could ever keep one as a pet. you are a brave man. great job

  • YOU HAVE A GABOON TOO??!, by the way what do you mean by learning wheels?

  • OMG, THAT GABOON VIPER IS SO CUTE !!! Absolutely adorable. I'd like to keep one for a pet and walk it around on a leash !

  • That would be one of the dumbest things I've heard in a while....

  • gaboon viper. this is the most frightening snake to me. Longest fangs of the vipers.

  • Yes

  • wow that was mad lol scary

  • holy shit that snake is a beast

  • I'm wondering, snakes can see heat sources, but do they inject venom when you fee a thawed/dead rat???? Maybe they know there's no need to inject venom because the rats are dead already

  • I don't know if they see heat or not but they do inject venom with every feeding bite.

  • They 'sense' heat but I'm not sure that they actually visually 'see' it.
