Kiliamloysic, 'Max Headroom' was a computer program that had a glytch & would frequently say things just a smidgen off or twist the meaning or exchange a word subtley in a phrase to shift it's meaning-making the new phrase zillions of times funnier-or even naughtier, so my guess after thinking about it more, is that Ryan got the phrase from Matt Frewer 'Max Headroom'.

The 1st time I heard that line was back in 1987 when the actor Matt Frewer said it in character as Max Headroom on the show of the same name & I died laughing! Which preceeded WLIIA by 7 yrs. Comedians borrow work from eachother all the time & that's classic. If not, then I'd say it just stuck with him from Matt Frewer, or maybe came to Ryan out of the blue because he's funny on his own. Short of asking Ryan who knows?
