yes, I cut lengths of 1mm card, about 2-3mm wide and glued underneath the outer edge of the sleepers during the track laying process. You may wish to experiment with different thicknesses. I'm modelling Devon, which has some fairly impressive super-elevation in places !

Nice video there, the tracks at the end on the curve, have you banked those curves on a slight slope?

thanks - yes , all exposed curves are shimmed by approx 1mm on outer edges for the super-elevated look.
