  • how can i go to piano roll ? please help

  • @Rheckler3 double click one of the empty boxes in your midi track :]

  • I love Ableton :)

  • thanks! it's a very useful video, it's gonna save me plenty of time)

  • My alt + up arrow (in win) is switching from clip view to mixer drop area and back.

    i have live 8.1.1

how do I select next note in time then?

(and btw, thanks! it's a very useful video, it's gonna save me plenty of time)

  • up moves the note up - cool

down moves it down - cool

left moves it to the left - cool

right moves it to the right - WTF!?

  • so I draw in my bass drum pattern, but for some reason the notes are the color pink(making the bass softer hitting) than the red ones....anybody have any clue why this is?

  • @CuddleOscar yes, you need to adjust the velocity of the hits to make them louder. You should see beneath the piano roll a series of vertical lines that you can make higher or lower to make the notes softer or louder.

  • @DubSpot oh wow, thanks a lot :]

I always was wondering how would I get rid of some dots in automation, sometimes theres just so many that idk how to get rid of a good handful of them

  • so there no way to change the note length without changing the grid? , Id rather be able to change the note to a 1/32 while keeping the gride at 1/16th just dont feel the whole having to change the grid

  • I got a Yamaha PSR and i wanna record the intern-sounds ("Voice") in this programm. But i "just" can play the instruments in ableton with my "MIDI"-Keyboard.

Is there a way to record MIDI without using the instruments of Ableton???

  • @Estates2010 you need to connect it using a MIDI cable and make sure that Ableton is transmitting to your keyboard and then make sure that you have your keyboard hooked back up to a soundcard to record the sound coming out.

  • God damn this guy sounds very much like brad pitt... hahaha

  • To everyone who's got basic questions please check out our online school launching on 10.10.10! We'll have courses for people at every level.

  • I can't figure out how to get into the Piano roll in ableton. I don't know what to do! Any help would be appreciated bruv, cheers!

  • don't forget the standard command a to select all, and command x to cut

  • Is there any way to map record quantize options?

  • When you have the loop brace selected you can also use ctrl/cmnd down to halve the it's length, and then up again to return back to normal. It's good for create drum rolls etc on the fly.

  • @dag451 Those are great Key Commands as well. Thanks for sharing. Perhaps i can add those to a future tutorial.

  • a question: I'm looking for a very simple but soooo timesaving command ?

how do i mute single Midi Notes ?

i'm tired of clicking right + "Mute Midi Notes"

(in Logic u do it by selecting the Midi Notes and Keycommand "M")

  • @dannysantino

Unfortunately, I don't know of an easy way to do this in Live. I would recommend to contact Ableton and mention this feature request. They are very open to user feedback and suggestions.

  • @DubSpot

i contacted ableton, this was their response:

" Thanks for your input - it doesn´t exist so far, i´ll create a feature wish for our developers. "

  • What's the "E" drumkit called? And where did you get it?

  • @petterselle & BLAZE45

The kit I'm using is a simple Kit I put together using samples from the Live 7 legacy Livepack. You can download it from ableton's website. Enjoy

  • the reverse midi or stretch midi is a perfect feature in live.
