What stratigy? I have never ever witnessed the finish of a digital race. I have never seen a car over take by changing lanes. All I see to a primative start with no penalty for jumping the gun and from then on just unorganised chaos and random going in circles. The thing about slot cars, you get your own slot! And they don;t have to stop for fuel?
Ever seen a Slot Dragon? Explosive action off the line, atom splitting finales, and all slot car racing in between.

What controls the car changing lanes where the tracks cross each other? Is it something you choose to do, or just something that occurs randomly?

You control your car by pressing the back buttom on the hand controller before you get to the crossing lanes, you can choose to pass a car or block a car from passing you, you will have to go into the pit stop and refuel your car, the micro chip will read the amount of gas you filling your car with, which will make it go slower than a car with less fuel...I love analogue racing but digital offers a whole new way of racing with a lot of strategy involved just like in a real racing situation...
