@HEARTHEANGELSVOICES actually- if you'll watch the live version on you tube (original band) from '77 you should notice that they didn't achieve that wonderful compression feedback simply because they were'nt in front of their amps (i'm guessing they would've had their compressors on though). I think that it was originally done the old fashioned way - with compressors and standing in front of the amp set on 10.

These Southern Boys did feel it in their soul for sure. They had so many great hits in so little time. I love watching youtube videos of people playing their songs, and there are a lot of great guitar players on here, i wish I had half their talent...but nothing sounds as good as the original recordings.

I saw them at Blossom Music Center last July.....I was totally blown out of the water !!!!!......Gary Rossington and Rickey Medlocke had a 2 and a half hour guitar battle....They played every lick they knew and some they didn't....Then walked off the stage arm in arm.....Never saw anything like it......True American musicians....And total class

These Southern Boys did feel it in their soul for sure. They had so many great hits in so little time. I love watching youtube videos of people playing their songs, and there are a lot of great guitar players on here, i wish I had half their talent...but nothing sounds as good as the original recordings.
