  • nice job, nice bass

  • @kevinthompsonful

    Thanks.

  • Classic bassline! great!

  • @Sandokanbass

    Thanks.

  • @TJH3113 I really enjoy your videos. You have so many but the Rush is for the most part flawless. My wife and I just shake our heads sometimes watching you. But any way it is cool that you embrace this heavier music. Rush too is my favorite band but I do like some heavy stuff. Great covering the medal too so that would be cool to see you in action in the future. Thanks for your work I continue to enjoy it routinely over the years now. Hope all is well with the WIfe and the 300 cats.

  • @TheMooneyguy

Thanks a lot. I don't like too much really heavy stuff, just certain things like this song. We're still holding steady at 6 cats but keep watching the news, I'm sure we'll be on there one day.

  • Somethin about this guy gives me the creeps

  • @DruDixon777

    Hmm?

  • Great video. Been playing bass for a # of years but this one I have been having a hard time with. You sound spot on- you play by ear or tabs? because the tabs online are horrendous. I was able to get it down pretty good and try out with my band. Thanks so much!

  • @TheSecondChanceBand

Thanks. I actually did a tutorial for this song that might be of additional help to you. I play some of the trickier parts slowed down and stuff like that. I learned by ear myself. Thanks for letting me know that you found it useful.

  • how do you get the "double pumps" to sound so staccato?

  • just watched your muting lesson video, so nevermind. I'll try and put those techniques to work. Thanks man.

  • @arbeitslarm

    OK. Cool.

  • I'd have sex with one of those creatures for that rick..\m/

  • what up with all of those masks? they're freaky

  • @EPISLON120

    I collect them.

  • nice bass men , what model and mark are??

  • @felipesantis631

    It's a Rickenbacker Model # 4003.

  • Thank you :-)

  • @redrum64758

    You're welcome?

  • holy shit its a rikenbocker i got 1 of those but i cant spell it

  • I really love this cover and your STP covers. How do you get your bass to sound so punchy and cut thru so well? So many bass sounds I hear sound flabby and muddy, like not enough pick attack or something

  • @hetfield2x4

Thanks. I think my sound is clear because I play at a very low volume and place an external microphone just a few inches away from my amp (a small guitar practice amp with a 5" speaker) and my computer speakers. I think many people use large amps, play too loud, and too far away from the microphone/camera.

  • dude...this is actually pretty good ^^

  • @gordo2424

    Thanks.

  • LOL

  • @TJH3113 Was planting Spalding by your headstock dilberate?? :D

  • @nuke97

No, it wasn't. Stupid me never even made the connection until I saw this comment. I don't know if you can see it, but he's holding a piece of chicken. The piece was made by Terry Cruikshank. He makes these great "handmade","one of a kind" horror figures. Take care.

  • @TJH3113 yeah man the horror head things are really cool and they seem to fit the song haha how much were they?

  • @sk89123

Check out his website - Deathstudios (YouTube won't allow links to be posted). The most expensive might have been $150.

  • Oh my gosh. A Rickenbacker. Wow. Very nice!

  • @Cwade726

Surely you've seen one before. Thanks.

  • @TJH3113 I have seen one before, they're just a rare find, and a nice bass.

  • @Cwade726

I was kidding of course but you're right, they are hard to find. A store near me has been waiting over two years for their order to be sent from the factory. while I like mine a lot, I think they're a bit overpriced. I remember when they used to cost $425.

  • nice bass, nice song, nice playin' :)

  • @enrom89fhb

    Thanks on all counts.

  • AWESOME!!! I play along with this a lot, I have an epiphone thunderbird. Sounds good.

  • @rustedrails

Thanks. It's a fun song to play.

  • You are so lucky to have that bass , whatever the color is

  • @nono4rio

    I do consider myself lucky.

  • Beautiful Bass!!!!

  • @TheMikea2010

Thanks. I'd have preferred a black one but didn't really have a choice.

  • where is there? I like your masks

  • @RobertDeLeo

There is here - New Windsor, NY. Thanks.

  • @TJH3113 no problem, but is your house, is in your job?

  • @RobertDeLeo

OK, sorry. This is my home. It's just my wife and I so we turned this room into a study/computer/mask room. If I ever grow up we can put something else in the display area.

  • @TJH3113 it's cool man, and you buy the masks?

  • @RobertDeLeo

Yes, I collect them. Most are from two small companies - Deathstudios and Darksidestudio.

  • @TJH3113 are expensive?

  • @RobertDeLeo

Not terribly expensive considering the quality but you can judge for yourself. Just do a search for Deathstudios and Darksidestudio on Google or something.

  • those maskk r fucken badd asss

  • sexy bass!

  • @XxgameacexX Thanks from the bass.

  • Where is this video gettin made ? In Rob´s house or what ?????? LOL .. Awesome cover^^

  • @TheAPC91 Yeah, I'm a bit of a horror fan myself. Thank you.

  • I've seen around 50 or so videos of people covering this song. Best one yet. Why can't people get the feel of this song?

  • @erikachenbach Thanks. She's a great player.

  • listen to that rick scream. nice cover.

  • @bulletdeposit Thanks.

  • yeah those are the parts i will bw watching for them thanks

  • dude you rock man i would love the help with all the odd ball stuff

  • @maxwellwolfgang Are these the parts roughly? 1:29 - 1:42, 1:58 - 2:15, 2:41 - 2:47. Just give me a week at most.

  • hey man i dig your playing i am currently working on learning this song and i always revert back to your video i am in iraq right now and can only get tabs online and they dont match up to what you play which is a bummer cause yours sounds spot on

  • @maxwellwolfgang Thank you. There are some really odd note choices in this song. It took some time to get them right - a lot of oddball half-step stuff. If you get stuck I could post the trouble spots for you played slowly so you could follow along, just let me know. Stay safe over there. Thanks.

  • @TJH3113 yeah ill be watching for them

  • @maxwellwolfgang I didn't forget, I just have to find the time but, as I said, "within the week".

  • Funny you play this, because many people think Vineyardedge-Valerie is Sean, his old bassist.

  • @kalisota I didn't know that but I can see it now that you mention it. I'm not a big hard rock guy but I love this song. If someone from another planet wanted to know what a good, hard rock song sounded like, I would play this or "Man In The Box" for them as an example.

  • great cover! i love your playing and the mask colection is awesome! congrats man you are cool

  • @algonmel1993 Hey thanks a lot. Most of the masks are from Death Studios. You should check them out, it's just this one cool guy that does it all.
