Have you even compared prices to current windows machines lately? Obviously you can buy a somewhat low quality PC for cheap but the value of a Mac is obviously something you won't understand.

I have looked at forums and screenshots. The reason that I do not like Mac OSX is because it is the exact opposite of Linux. It's hard to change configuration files and stuff in a Mac. You can't really screw things up if you make a mistake, but if you want to change something, it is impossible. Linux is open source.  Oh and I did decide to try using Linux, my ratings stay the same. Well, Windows>Sabayon>Ubuntu>Fedora>­Mac OSX (I have used all of them)

Mac OS X is not open source. Darwin, which is what OS X is based off of, is. If Mac OS X was open source then it would be free to distribute. Apple charges money for OS X. However, I do applaud Apple for adding to the open source movement by making Darwin open source. Microsoft would never do anything like that.

Macs ROCK! PC's r ok but I just prefer the look, slickness, and 10X better software to XP/ Vista. The OS is just so much easier and nicer and Macs r not just 4 video editing or music bla.They can do basic things as well. I mean I do everything that an average person would do like MSN, surf the web, listen to music, etc. but I just like the OS better than Win. Only reason I would get Win is 4 games which I can instal on my Mac. Buy what u want cuz dats all dat matters.

One word: Linux. Works on all platforms, comes in many different forms for every OS and is ALWAYS up to date. Haven't gotten a single virus on my linux distro yet, without expensive antivirus software.

there is no virus for linux. because on the client world (not servers) there is very minimal use of linux. windows is right the most secure OS out there. there is no question about it. it just gets hit more because there is far more many users for it. i love linux for embeded device where u can modify the code and tune it.

yea when i saw theleopard demo in the apple web sight, i sayd wow. when i looked on microsoft when vista came out, i didnt say wow. vista is advanced and wow for windows users but windows just reused many ideas that macs had in the past. vista was not a wow for me. Leopard was and still is.

But PCs are MUCH better than Macs in general for the following two reasons:

(1) I would NEVER spend ~$2000 on a mac, when I can get the best possible PC laptop with that price.

Tiger is OSX.4, Panther is OSX.3, Jaguar is OSX.2 etc... They are all OS X, simply different releases/updates of it. That is how Apple does things. Technically Microsoft does the same thing, they just don't advertise the version number.
