just got my red card. I can tell you that wildland fire crews know what they are doing. these arent just volunteers. when fire on an incline like climbs into the crowns of the trees, it starts to run and pickup speed. the radiant heat alone will ignite trees on the other side of the road. they burning a wider fire break to stop the fire. they werent saving the school, the school would save itself from the amount of concrete surrounding it. The school=safety zone to escape to if it got bad.

yes the gas like to have sex with with its same sex... no ummm its called a burn out operation or back burn if you burn away the fuel infront of the big fire, the big fire will die out becasue lack or fuel... if its done right it works well but sometimes it dosnt go well... everytime i have done it its worked really well... fighting fire with fire...
