I might be jumping the gun a bit (being only halfway into the ep) but I think it's brave of DOOL to have one of the regulars prouting homophobia. Usually this person is a guest star who is thrown out of town, since suddenly everyone in there is a member of PFLAG. This way it allows the homophobic US citizens to identify with someone and maybe change their minds along with him. They did this on GTST (Dutch soap) and even though I hated it at the time, I have to admit it was a nice strategy...

Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed this clip. I was a little shocked and excited when his uncle chimed it! Such drama! I'm actually kind of surprised they went this homophobic route. I don't know how integral of a character T is, but lately I've noticed how shows don't depict many regular characters as homophobic as it's a complete turn off in their character. Many times it's a guest star or something similar. So I'm excited to see the story pan out and see if some good messages are conveyed.

First off Go Victor! Second, I'm actually glad this story line is moving slowly, yes sometimes it seems too slow but I don't want it moving too fast either. In real life, at least in my experiences, building a good strong romance/relationship takes time, really truly liking someone takes time. And Sonny did just arrive back in Salem after a long time, for all we know he could have some hot European boyfriend that no one knows about yet.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm loving this storyline! Not every gay or questioning guy has to jump in the sack the second they find out about themselves. This slow buildup is exciting. And I am totally in love with Sonny right now. Kudos for standing up for yourself and setting Tad straight while still being respectful. And so happy that Will didn't freak out like I thought he would.

I and others have said the story is going to move very slowly. That's how this show rolls and the show has said upfront it's going to move slowly. People who expect 'sudden' revelations or a quick pace are going to find themselves disappointed and frustrated. I don't think there's much chance of Will and Gabi staying together. The girl that plays Gabi said in an interview that Will turns out to be gay so she needs a new love interest.

I think people are expecting too much too soon. Folks seem to think that when Will learned Sonny is gay, he would think 'oh God, I must be gay too!' and that would be far too cliched and obvious. My feeling is that it's going to play out much like real life. Sonny and Will will start out as friends, but Will is going to slowly find himself attracted to Sonny. Things like that don't happen overnight in real life and especially in soaps.

On many occasions, Christian was verbally abusive towards Olli if not almost physically threatening, much more so than here. It seems to me the character of T can have more depth in this soap here, though not necessarily a potential love interest for Sonny. After all, this world is rarely black or white, figuratively speaking.

Don't kill me, but I really like Will and Gabi together as a couple. They're both very attractive, yet they both have this innocent aura about them. I find that endearing and hot at the same time. Anyway, I think it would be more realistic if Tad were the closeted gay guy. His reaction towards Sonny was so over the top, almost to the point of suspicion. Maybe the writers will surprise us later down the line, but I seriously think they should take the gaydar off of Will and lock it onto Tad.

@lovebeyondnow Yes, exactly! Tad was so enthusiastic to have his picture taken with Sonny, then to be actually be confronted with the fact that Sonny IS gay, it would result in Tad's "gay panic." Plus, Tad is a much more complex character than Will (it helps that Brendan Coughlin is a more assured and intuitive actor than is Chandler Massey); there's just more dramatic tension and possibilities with a Tad/Sonny relationship than there is with a Will/Sonny relationship.
