In this video, the baby elephant looks exactly like the photos at the hogle zoo website, because she was just born back then. So cute for an elephant <3
IT WAS VERY VERY CUTEEE. They are the most gorgeous n beautiful creations frm God. Simply wonderful. Mom was teaching n Baby was following mom every doing :))) . Very very clever little baby, sees once n she knows to do. Love the way she runs, really is like e title 'bouncing baby':)) she runs n bounces exactly like the other vid i came across of a baby white rhino at dublin zoo. All are cute great sweetie little baby.
A lot of zoo's use the veil of "endangered animal breeding programs" to hide their consumer driven gains. Zoo's supplemented the exotic animal trade, and if you look into the history of many zoo's with the most influential breeding programs you would not find them so divine.
I hardly think being a captive species counts as not being extinct. It's breeding programs that supplement sustainable living for release programs that should be commended .. not zoos.
Olá aqui do Brasil!!!
@DerekDe23 If you were born there, you would be happy because you think that that's the world. Look at her, and look at her mother--do they look stressed or otherwise uncomfortable with their current housing? Well, if the MOTHER was, she wouldn't have mated. Humans live with a lot of stress and responsibilities that make them want more from life, but animals don't deal with so much as a 16th of what we do in the wild, let alone captivity. They are, in any good zoo like this, content.
@DerekDe23 yeah, they should let her out in the wild so she can be eaten by a tiger or something. Must suck being 100% safe and secure for the rest of your life never having to worry about food, poor animal.
These poor animals. They have no room they belong in their natural habitat Like poor Lucy in the Canadian zoo. These animals are indeed very capable of surviving in the wild However their life expectancy is shortened by half in zoos and circuses. After watching this video it's safe to say these animals will do just fine in their natural habitat. However they are captured for mans profit. Boycott zoos!!!
@Bugalu67 I know that sometimes when you go to the zoo you think their habitats are small or inefficient. But the zoo's are actually helping a lot with conservation. They take in animals that are injured, sick, abandoned etc. They rehab them and re-release them, for instance the Cinci Zoo is actually releasing one of its manatees Nov. 9th. She was injured from a boat accident and they nursed her back to health. Zoo's also breed endangered species to keep them from becoming extinct and up #s
@mlorraine43 i have to agree with that part but i know that some zoos still have some animals just to have them. i don't go any more because as much as i love seeing elephants and gorillas, they just look so sad. Not like these two who look happy ,the elephants at the zoos i've been to just look so Bored and sad.
I think that in order for something to be considered an animal sanctuary, there has to be practically no physical human contact unless it is medically neccissary.
Read, the Life of Pi to learn how animals actually fare much better, as do humans, in optimal conditions where their needs are met for food and health care.
@pizza2all : Actually, most animals at zoos now days were born in a zoo or they were brought into the zoo after not being able to survive by themselves in the wild. Like nimbostratusdweller said, they thrive in zoos that provide for them and create a safe environment for them to dwell in.

These elephants must be of the silent verity. That would explain why the uploader chose to replace the sound of the elephants with random music.

And those who do are typically bullied into it as a damage control.. Or because that is what their market wants to see.
I do believe there are positive instances out there.. just they are typically few and far between.
