Boxing has a more international and diverse fanbase than MMA.

Now they fight on free TV in Germany and they're 2 of the biggest stars in Europe averaging 16 million views from Germany alone. Haye gets over 1 million buys per fight.
The UFC's PPV buys are global. HBO and Showtime PPVs are US only. When UFC 129 got 800k buys, that's split between many countries. When Pac-Mosley got 1.3 buys that's US only.

But boxing has Cotto, who averaged 600k buys from just the US market and that's considered OK. Now Cotto all but finished he got 250k buys for his last fight with Mayorga. The last UFCs average 300k from the whole world leaving 50-100k from the US. Yet again, a finished boxer like Cotto still gets 3 times that amount from the US alone.

Boxing pay is not spread. Mayweather gets x$ Millions on main card.. but the guy on the undercard gets about $500-$1200. But In MMA, Main card get like $150,000.. but the undercard guys get a minimum of $2500-$5000 and a possible fight bonus of $20,000-$50,000.

Carwin blew his load trying to finish Lesnar and had a full adrenalin dump from hitting him so hard for so long. It had nothing to do with conditioning or stamina, its like pushing a car in the red line too long. Cain learned from Carwin's fight with Lesnar the guy can take a serious beating so he picked his shots better. Nobody in UFC has more knockout power in their hands than Carwin, he just needs to learn to learn to pick his shots better and one day he could be a champion.
When I watched Kalib Starnes vs Nate Quarry, it reminded me so much of why i hate Mayweather and boxing in general. Personally I watch combat sports for combat, I don't want to see Dancing with the Stars when I'm paying money to watch fighting.

@Situacion09 Couldn't say honestly I'm in Australia and the ratio with MMA shows and boxing would probably be the same so a seat at a table here (ring/cage side) would be over $100 so they are pretty close but I'm not sure on the biggest scale. The thing with the UFC is that there are more fights on the card and every fight has potential to be the fight of the night not just the main events

I personally know some Europeans that LOVE David Haye, Ricky Burns, and Amir Khan. My mexican friend and his family purchase all of Juan Manueal Marquez's fights. And Zab Judah is really popular too. Boxing has a more international and diverse fanbase than MMA.

@smhpgh23 the k bros aren't on PPV. They used to fight on HBO for free and average 7-8 million viewers then HBO mysteriously kicked them off. Now they fight on free TV in Germany and they're 2 of the biggest stars in Europe averaging 16 million views from Germany alone. Haye gets over 1 million buys per fight.
The UFC's PPV buys are global. HBO and Showtime PPVs are US only. When UFC 129 got 800k buys, that's split between many countries. When Pac-Mosley got 1.3 buys that's US only.

That means a boxing match between 2 not exactly brilliant fighters drew more Canadian PPV buys than the average GSP fight. GSP gets 800k, split that between the UFC's biggest markets, Canada, US, Australia, then the rest of the world... and what do we see? Canadians bought less than 400k to see GSP, while 2 old boxers get 600k. Boxing gets more from one country than the UFC can from the entire planet.

But boxing has Cotto, who averaged 600k buys from just the US market and that's considered OK. Now Cotto all but finished he got 250k buys for his last fight with Mayorga. The last UFCs average 300k from the whole world leaving 50-100k from the US. Yet again, a finished boxer like Cotto still gets 3 times that amount from the US alone.

I think badr hari has almost as good standup as Reem, i mean hes a more accomplished kickboxer but i think RIGHT NOW the reem is the man to beat in all of MMA , he will go into the ufc soon and destroy cain, i mean realistically only JDS has a chance to beat cain, hes going to tear up that division till the reem gets bored of strikeforce

@BlackPeopleMonkeys i never said he had an iron chin but don't forget that was at 205, and both of them have a lot more KO power than Cain "pillow hands" Velasquez. Cain's a great fighter but he's not that special in any one area besides cardio. Overeem would use his reach and strength to demolish almost any UFC fighter besides JDS, Carwin. Plus Fedor maybe able to beat Overeem but he'll have to catch him in a sub or KO him

But look at the numbers when he fought Rogers on CBS. 5.46 million viewers during the fights quarter hour timeslot. More people tuned into TUF 10 to see kimbo slice get crucifixed by Roy Nelson. Both companies are greedy. But if I was in their shoes, I would tell them to suck it too. M-1 doesn't even promote well. 5.46 mill on free TV is a joke.
