It should be noted that Don Loveness constructed the several reproductions of the Midway Garden "Sprites" which are found on the property. Also, the dining room table and chairs in the 1972 cottage ... are based on unused furniture designs for Aline Barnsdall's Hollyhock House in Los Angeles. Loveness built them, too.
The Lovness Estate includes 2 houses. The studio was built in 1955 and the cottage was in 1972. The Seth Peterson Cottage was originally built in 1958 but had to be extensively rebuilt from essentially ruins in the late 80's and did not open again until 1992. FLW passed in 1959 for reference. The Lovness Studio property is older and is original. Don and Virginia built both homes "by hand" and took pride in them so that is why I suspect they were in such good condition in 2008.
@vanapple1 - Lovness and Seth Peterson are essentially the same structure. Lovness, however, was not constructed until well after Wright's death, which, in part, explains its pristine appearance.
