  • clearlly there must be an ocult gay army living in youtube, cuz i just got jumped by the gay platon of the asshole-unit from the fagzord-division, i shall not written no more cuz there will be another gay ass faggot ready to waste another bit of his worthless life to try troll me. this being said i hope you fags all live gaylly ever after.

  • Our knowledge of physics is obviously incomplete or we wouldn't have any physicists, just teachers. But new ways of thinking which challenge the standard model are more likely to come from the large hadron collider than some leggo

  • Oh, what a surprise, a perpetual motion machine doesn't work!

  • your centre gear has to stay in a fixed position so the inside magnets are always in the exact position as they pass the outside ones

  • yeah, a perpetuum mobile in stopmotion ...

  • I think you need to spin it a little harder! haha

  • you are awere of the defenition of perpetual motion aren't you?? cuz this migth be anything but a perpetual motion machine or device. EPIC FAIL!!!

  • @bazengao and u didnt read the description. instead u flame other people videocomments. n1. poor fail.

  • @speku87 then change the title fucktard!! you stupid ppl put shit on youtube with false, fake, and failed tittle to atract viewers and you ppl get sad and depressed when it backs fires!! so then retarded ppl like use the excuse of (you didnt read the discription first)to cover your EPIC FAIL! " I HAV READED THE TITTLE FIRST" well i have news flash moron THE TITTLE DOS NOT MACTHES THE DESCRIPTION!! poor little stupid retard your so stupid you can't acknowledge your retard stupidity...

  • @bazengao righto time i stepped in here-firstly bazenGAYo-oops i spelled your name wrong but since you cant spell for shit im sure you wont mind...the title has the words clearly written-video response-that means it is response-which i must add is to a totally bogus device.it would be pointless if i called Lego cog magnet toy, since that is not what the video is about-if you listened to the audio you will also hear me say it doesnt work-second you are caps lock shouting at the wrong person =P

  • @m3sca1 clearlly you have showned your self has a retard but now its official you can't even read wright or spell right. And your sentece make no sense but how could they?! Your retarded! And the main point of perpetuum motion is when you start it it won stop...clearlly that didnt happened in your gay ass lord video (ppl call it fail) and no i did not shout cuz obviouslly you cant hear me( another proof of your retardness and stupidity), and yes i spoken to the wrong person...(

    a retard).

  • @bazengao LOL that really got your goat, didnt it!

  • @bazengao if English is your first language your grammar and spelling skills are in sorry state. You should not point fingers at others when you are the first who is incapable of spelling: "clearlly", "read wright", "Your retarded", "obviouslly", "i spoken" Holy cowbells what a display of ignorance! What are you in kindergarten? Seriously Man! Your comments are simply ridiculous!

  • @freakqnc your retarded aren't you? english is not my mother tongue, learn to read then to think... retard butting in non of hes buisseness... do a favor to mankind and just throw you self off a brigde, you dont need retards anymore...

  • @bazengao I must insist you jump first one angry monkey less on the face of the planet ;P

@m3sca you really pissed this lobotomized microcephalic Neanderthal with your video... wow this lego stuff you made as a video reply is really some powerful stuff man! I think are onto something and you don't even know it... mind control man! LOL!

  • @bazengao "perpetuum motion"? BWAAAHAHAHAAA Who's the retard now, go look it up you moron it's "Perpetual motion" you really should do your homework before you start flinging poo monkey man.

  • @bazengao haha i LOVE people who freak out on youtube comments! you have to be pretty tough to anonomously swear at someone eh? :P

  • OK, my english may be a bit bad, nothing more to say about it.

But its not like i dont understand what u say, rather then i understand way more about phsyics then u will ever do.

Btw: our scientists know way more then i can imagine, they dont know everything, but they can tell u more about a glass of water then u learned in your entire life. And that are only the facts. to those comeup like 20x as much from socalled "alternativ"scientists that claim the earth will explode or other nonsens.

  • cool

  • dolphin's top swimming speeds are also not physically according to the human understanding of phyisics. obviously humans have a flawed understanding of phyics and its egocentric and narcissistic to think otherwise.

  • thats an interesting comment-thanx for that

  • @nickgonezapolis

You do know that isnt true right? Its actually stange that dolphins dont swim faster than they do. The reason is that it hurts to go faster than 54 kilometres an hour.

  • @LamaPaj you completely misunderstood what i said. dolphins swim faster than what human's understanding of physics would allow for. it doesnt matter how it feels to them, my point was humans have a flawed understanding of physics.

  • you mean "not physically possible"

and that's the same thing with the bee, according to physics a bee cannot fly. interesting stuff, huh?

  • @nickgonezapolis I think you have that confused with bumble bees, which should not be able to fly if you assume that they behave the same as fixed-wing aircraft. But they don't have fixed wings, so the laws of physics stand.

  • @Dth091 bumble bees' wings shouldnt be able to deliver enough lift for them to fly. their bodies are too big and their wings are too small. obviously humans dont fully understand physics. so using laws of physics to prove a point, is useless.

  • @nickgonezapolis or u just dont understand what physic is about: it descips the nature AS IT IS.

bumble bees wings are small and they couldnt fly according to physics? yes, that was "true" about 80 years ago. when they started looking on nature for designes of machines. They just didnt know how to calculate it and took same formulas used for Aircrafts with static wings. But to descripe u how they really fly with dynamic stall and such things would jsut break your little mind.

  • @ABaumstumpf could you imagine of even half of our world's geniuses were as unimaginitive as you and just accepted the limitations of the human understanding of physics? no one would ever try to accomplish anything that would change our understanding of any sciences. when we bow to the limitations humans have placed on physics and science we learn nothing. we will not advance our understandings of ANYTHING by accepting what others say and not experimenting and studying.

  • @nickgonezapolis

OK, if u think this way then u just dont get anything.

The laws of Physics are made by human, but they dont make so things work like they do, they just DESCRIPE what happens. And those things are tested housands of times.

U cant writte on a Computer, thats just what scientists say, it doesnt work. And u didnt make it, its just like all those stupid scientists say. They just bend their laws of physics to make it work like they want to.

Thats about what u are talking.

  • @ABaumstumpf first of all, your writing makes no sense. learn english. second, my point was, and you so clearly missed it, that einstein, and socrates, and all the other geniuses in our world's history didnt accept the understanding of the world as it was, they searched for deeper explanations, and we, as humans, still dont fully understand physics fully, and we should be trying to figure out things that have been deemed impossible, or we make no progress. we should try to DESCRIBE things better

  • @ABaumstumpf we shouldn't accept the descriptions of physics as physics depics, as there is usually WAY more than we understand going on. it would be egotistic and narcissistic to think we've defined it fully. as i tried to explain to you before, our understanding of physics is in no way fully accurate, and if accepted as it is, it would be considered flawed. so again, thank god our scientists dont think like you.

  • @nickgonezapolis For those who haven't heard of this: in 1936 James Gray proposed that Dolphins had only a tenth of the power necessary to reach their recorded top speed. However his power output was calculated under the assumption that dolphin muscle was similiar to human muscle, which it very much isn't: it's far more powerful than Gray calculated. Our knowledge isn't perfect but conservation of energy is part of literally almost all physical science which powers the modern world.

  • @fasterplastercaster -- over-unity was impossible till a couple of months ago too. Perhaps it's time people redefined "black box", "closed system" or whatever

  • PERPETUAL MOTION IS A CONCEPT, NOT A LAW. Just wanted to make that clear.

  • what vid was this a response to?

  • just click the link directly under it.

  • i know,i realized that about min after my post, little bit of sauce last nite ;)

  • lol no worries-btw check the perpetuum mobile -it actually works-i sent you a video-not the one i was trying to find but it show the device

  • The only things that science can actually reliably say are that there are still forces unknown and unexplainable to them. (And that many of the current "truths" are actually wrong as well.) In this day and age science tends to completely ignore anything that challenges the mainstream view (which is not new in itself) but to have people trash talk this is just sad. If nobody bucked the trend, we wouldn't have most of the wonderful devices and comforts that we have today.

  • @DaemonLucifel2001 what you say is largely true. However, when it comes magnets spinning on bits of Lego I think we are in a non controversial area and that there aren't any mysterious unexplained forces going on. Quantum level, yes. Galaxy level, yes. Dark energy and dark matter, yes. Lego, not so much.

  • Actually, we've got out middle-world newtonian universe pretty much figured out.

The real questions lie either in tiny or massive, or at high relative speeds or high-energy states.

  • perpetual motion is not possible physicaly, theoricaly. and you think that with lego you can find it? lol perpetual motion seems creating energy by nothing. because of the frictional force that we have to compensate. and with lego the frictional forces are just a joke.... so if you want to do things in an intelligent way (also if it's just stupid to try to do perpetual motion at home) so please do not be stupid.... with lego.... lol

  • try locking the center sprocket to the base and have it move around it, this will stop the magnets from twisting too far.

watch the lego perpetuum vid and watch the center.

  • If the magnets are timed equally on their approach as on their departure from the fixed magnets, any attraction/repulsion benefits will cancel out. My guess is that a mechanism that snaps the magnets into the desired orientations would maximize attraction on approach and repulsion on separation at precisely the right time, thus maximizing output.

  • You didn't buid a good motor, you didn't rispect the polarity of the stop magnets! You made a mistake!

    Sorry for my english

  • Too much friction!!! the movement stop immediately for this!!!

  • Bringing magnets together/apart is like compressing/releasing a spring. The same energy you store squeezing the magnets together is released when you release them. So when you look at any design, it always adds up no new energy added. Let's consider E=mc2, i.e. 1J energy has 1/c2 g of mass, so to create energy out of the magnet system, you would also be creating mass. Creating mass is called... magic. The many videos attempting perpetual motion shows how many people misunderstand magnetism.

  • Your center cog needs to be stationary

  • i did try that btw

  • Or attached to a motor. That would help.

  • Don't stop working on it. I have a concept much more elaborate, but based on a similar principle, that I'm working on. Just need more money to get parts. :(

  • nope. You need money to take a science class.

  • don't bother, its not possible

  • do peoiple still believe in perpetual motion machines? ive never seen a machine that was more than "very close"

  • dont use lego.....too much friction in those placcy parts.

  • apples and oranges...this one being the lemon

  • how so? it is, afterall, perpetual motion we're discussing.

    KEvron

  • You've got the wrong number of magnets, you need 3 on the outer and 7 in the middle, this configuartion will create a situation where a magnet is always offset to the outer magnets

  • thanx for commenting-pls dont let me stop you trying your configuration

  • lol! you're wicked!

    KEvron

  • try again...

    gotta fix the middle gear

...But you are turning the magnets against the magnetic field.

So the force you need to do that would probably be as high as what you get out of it - friction.

  • got any advice for turning lead into gold? i've tried everyting. almost had it, once....

    KEvron

  • i think the gears are way far apart from each other and u have all the magnets at an even distance from each other but great design none the less

  • First, the gears turns the magnets on a different way tha the rubber bands does. Second, the center gear needs to be fix.

  • if you read the coments, you will see i tried it fixed center also.

oh yeah and the original is looking very much like a fake

  • cheers mate :)

  • what leggo kit did you get the gears from -thanks

  • was an old LEGO techincs bulldozer

  • The first one was Computer Graphics, you can see that it was brighter than the surrounding area.

  • YOU DID IT IN 0:44

    XD

  • you built it the wrong way

  • feel free to build one,if you have the lego,im so surprised there isnt more lego with magnets attatched.

  • Close but the gears are interacting opposite the lego video, if you add one more to each leg it would have the same effect as the lego video, and you have to anchor the center cog. The lego video is played backwards though (red repels blue, and blue attracts blue) But I would like to see you elaborate on this geared version though

  • Most honest description of a prepetual-motion device that I have ever read!

  • looks cool! sad it doesnt work

  • it looks pretty cool but my Perpetuum Mobile works better

  • from what i gather the magnets would have to be stationary in the since that the pole must always be in the same direction to give it the repulsive force but i loe it im am working on a kog magnet idea now as well

  • have you seen the one grasswine made?

  • no i havent

  • you havent fixed the center gear in place

  • retake it in teh daytime =D

  • why?

the sun wont make it spin any better...

    TIC

granted the lighting isnt the best-but there's nothing that cant be seen.

  • build a better one?

  • see the video graaswine has made-his worked

  • Nice design. Shame it didn't work. Check out my lego perpetuum mobile video too.

  • I've been hunting around on ebay to find what I need, but would have to spend £100 to get all I need. :(

Oh, and for the record the other vid WAS a fake, (it was filmed then played backwards, if you notice it comes out of synch.) But physically setting the gears to the perfect ratio and it would never come out of synch.

  • Oops, also the rotating mass has to be great as to act as a flywheel, (how easy is it to stop a steamtrain without brakes?) Lolz. ;)

  • yeah i hear ya on the larger mass senario, got any LEGO?

pls have a go if you do.

    no 1 else has!!!

    thanks for commenting

  • Actually, there are a couple of other things. Firstly belt driven gear run in the same direction, gear to gear and they run in the opposite direction. Another thing to bear in mind is you are running a 1:1 gear ratio, if you increase the main gear but decrease the outer gear you can make the magnets attract on approach then weaken the field as it is parallel then as it goes past, repel, (I know you can't do that with standard lego gear, but it is possible.) HTH

  • Err, the center gear needs to be in a fixed position so the other gears move about in an orbital fashion.

  • if you have read the comments -you will know i have tried the fixed center gear.

  • I think it is the free floating center issue. I'm kind of intrigued by your and the 'Lego Perp Motion" idea and if the time's available I'd like to try to design my own out of acrylic so I'm not limited to Lego dimensions. Do you have any tips from your experiences that would improve my design?

    Thanks!

  • friction. Cogs have more. Resistance has to be less than aplied magnetic force.

  • the idea with the rubber bands was they are like gears and make the magnets turn about 3 times before the next i think you understand :)!

  • The rubber bands may be the key. Notice how they allow the same poles to repel, turning the magnet slightly so that the attractive force is seen. When the rubber band is streched too far, the magnet snaps back to repel again. It is really interesting.

  • i have built another, more closely copying the original-although i havent got the right size rubber bands yet,the 1st lot were too tight-see my other video response to the original-you will have to watch a little animation 1st though. =]

  • I think you need stronger magnets or less friction. I think the gear idea is quite clever. I fear it's prone to wear though. Suspend a set of magnets above the center disk that flip the magnets as they pass counter to the outer ring.

  • This is an excellent mechanical configuration... it's like a radial engine but the gear drive on 4 sides makes it 4 times mechanically advantageous than the fixed crank configuration. You should make a prototype already. I believe it will revolutionize engine designs.

  • i am building another, this next build is much closer to the original...

  • im sure you all agree the end pulleys on the original are bigger than center-if center was fixed the size difference would continually change the position of the end rotors in such a way that they would not line up correctly for the next rotation-only conclusion for this is the center is not fixed

  • Look, i know what was your problem... from what i see on the original video, you need a fixed center and a litle sproket betwen the out sproket and center sproket on each arm, so the out sprokets, turn in the same direction of the rotation.

  • i tried it with a fixed centre.

what surprises me most is that im not the only one with a bucket of lego and magnets.

Surely someone else out there can copy it 1:1

  • 0.o i like it :)

  • jap, in the original video, there is the center gear fixed and i think the magnets are not in symetry..

  • In the "Original" there are no rubber bands. I think it uses normal little strings.

  • i reckon its rubber

  • not the same-the mechanics are tho-when i get the same magnets as original ,i'll try again. Not being negative about it-at least im trying-have u got some lego and magnets?Surely someones got the bits to copy it exactly

  • No, this is not the same as the "original". So... be positive about the original as long as you don't have one 1:1 copied.

  • if you watch closely on the other one,the center isnt fixed, and yes i tried it fixed, and still no respone from the maker of the 1st one as to wether it is moving under its own motion.\

  • have you tried keeping the center still. make it fixed like the other one

  • I need your lego tools. Please let me know where u got them. thanks.

  • ? from my lego box.i have had since i was a kid.Technics lego its called

  • ya just gotta try these things

    =]

  • WTF??
