  • Why did you stop after ..Diamond Day.. Why, Why, Why.. you deprived the world of your music!!!

  • @ashleiyy Because the album didn't sell very well. She became discouraged.

  • @ashleiyy she released another album a few years ago.

  • wow, she's still sexy now like she always was :) x

  • I think I fell in love.....smiles. Nice music!!!

  • such a crush on this woman. i don't even care that she's a senior citizen. I DONT EVEN CARE WHAT THE WORLD MIGHT SAY

  • PURE talent :) it's incredible.

  • Amazing the simplicity of a human been. Such a nice soul, love her...

  • its so amazing seeing her now after all the years

  • this sitting on the stairs - nice

  • WHAT A DEAL TO HAVE SOMEONE LIKE VASHTI SINGING TO YOU ABOUT PINK SUGAR ELEPHANTS AND WEARING THOSE BAD ASS BOOTS AT THE SAME TIME......PROBABLY DON'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT

  • I love your music and I will run out and get your new work. I just today learned about you. I am your age and I play guitar and write songs myself. Thank you so very much for your beautiful voice.

  • I love her!

  • Can't believe she looks sooo gorgeous after all these years. If only her friend Nick Drake were still alive as well.

  • a beautiful woman, no more no less

  • she has the most relaxing voice and demeanour, i wish i lived in her house, 'tho i,d be asleep most of the time, with a smile on my face.

  • the only person who didn't like this was just testing the 'i don't like button' or either was really really drunk

  • Hello Vashti. Your music, your experiences, your room and all the things you've got in it (down to the reel to reels) is very reminiscent of my own.

Some have commented on the Train song and presumed it refers to drugs. I prepared to believe you were simply singing about a person, someone you admired. If its Donovan, I also love his songs.

  • still still hot

  • Saint~saen left a scroll of music with a note to his wife. Tied with a red ribbon, in his sock drawer, asking her to destroy it upon his death. She had never seen this before. Played it on the piano & then discussed it with his friends. Saint~saen could never bring himself to destroy " the Carnival of the Animals". But he was afraid to publish it. Because he didn't want people to think he, a great nationalist composer was "losing it". & Vashti's story about the "Sugar elephants" reminded of this

  • i love her

  • I saw her yesterday and I fell in love with her even more than I was before. I spoke to her after the concert and she was just so kind and beautiful. I'm usually pretty nervous and I thought I would be super nervous when talking to her, but I wasn't. :) I think she makes everyone feel comfortable. She's magical.

  • where in the world can i find a woman like this????

  • "...as un-folkust as can be" XD!

    lovely post!

  • Could someone tell me what the intro and outro to this clip is? I recognise it, but can't name it. :-(

  • Actually I think it's Four Tet, never mind...

  • Four tet - "Hands" :)

  • Wow. She is absolutely gorgeous! Her, her voice, her songs. What an angel.

  • I love this woman

  • shes sexy

  • I LOVE when she laughs

  • What a lovely, sweet woman...the voice of an angel. She is a real diamond.

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • She's so quiet and humble. I just love her.

  • i wonder why she didnt want 17 pink sugar elephants to be heard when she was younger.

  • She has a lovely laugh. Bewitching and other worldly. We need more people like this amongst us.

  • Treasure her. Treasure her for her beauty, her voice, her talent. Treasure her for her humanity.

  • I love Vashti. Her music reaches places in me where only a few artists can venture.

  • same, just another diamond day is my most fave song in the world, and i mean that, when ever i hear it i feel like im in a park in my todler years, also it reminds me of peter pan in kensington gardens, its the most beautiful song i have ever heared. i would ask for it in my funrial so it will always stay with me ! x

  • she is a seriously major woman

  • lovely

  • Has there ever been a more modest singer than Vashti Bunyan?

  • lisa hannigan

  • @Rhubba No, never! She is the best and most modest!!

  • I love this woman, I love her music, she is in the very deep of me.

  • Amazing

  • what a bloody lovely woman.

  • Pink sugar elephants to give children for treats after tea?

  • She's a very sweet woman and I enjoyed chatting with her after she gave a concert in my town. Very down to Earth, she mingled with the audience after her show and was really quite lovely towards complete strangers.

  • Still very beautiful :-)

  • lol

  • vashti bunyan forever!! (:

  • Its amazing that she still has the same voice after so many years.

  • i tottaly agree

  • Is she recording a follow-up to Lookaftering? Hope so!!

  • She's such a beautiful and soft-spoken woman. So gorgeous, I love her.

  • God, listen to "Timothy Grub" and trance out into alpha. There are few musical experiences as sublime.

  • What a humble and beautiful woman

  • Oddly enough, this little interview seems just as important to her legacy as any of her music. Here sits this remarkable person blissfully unaware that her talent transcends what ever genre where someone might pigeonhole her. She couldn't be more correct in saying there was so little opportunity for her chance to be big. This music can't be defined; it's her personal thing, inviting us to love it. So few write for themselves and keep it so pure. If she took over the world, would we mind?

  • love her new music on lookaftering, interested in the new/old stuff. amazing that for thirty years she did absolutely nothing in music. i just wish she would sing in something above a whisper, its a bit discomforting at times.

  • she is fabulous and electric

  • What an incredible sweet woman ~~~«d~_~b»~~~

  • wonderfull singer , who is still brilliant at singing as her ever was :D

  • Was she the Beeswing?

  • anyone know what model that reel to reel is?

  • The reel to reel is called "This Machine Here." It was borrowed. Good luck with your search.

  • I believe it's a Teac A-3440 Simul Sinc

It was an industry standard of sorts

  • (*_ oh my hurray !!!

  • danelectro in the back there

  • th e music on theintro/outro is by an artist called fout tet. look em up if you like great music

  • It's Hands by Four Tet.

  • what a fascinating woman. salt of the earth, pure unadulterated magic.

  • Vashti is the hidden flower amongst a valley of weeds that is 'pop/folk/rock' music. I hope she continues to write new matieral.

  • i love vashti. :)

  • it's fascinating to think that 20 years ago, when I was seeking out all the "pop" singles she recorded on 60's psych comp albums, that one day, she would emerge from her exile of obscurity and actively make music for the rets of us once more. welcome back.

  • me three ! she is too wonderful for words.

  • me too

  • i love vashti
