is this cgi or the real thing? how did you get the camera to rotate around the engine showing nothing in the background? camera is jerky also. if you can tell me how you filmed it ill be really impressed with your engine as what i see from the design its pretty bloody awesome. i do think its fake though or you went to a hell of alot of trouble making the vid
Dave, with the oil company profit number, you make the mistake that most people make, using net income from the income statement to measure real profit. Net income is after depreciation and other accounting accruals, not real cash. Take a look at Exxon's cashflow statement, 48 billion dollor is cash generated last year from operations and $5 billion in taxes paid in cash. Their real effective tax rate is about 10%. Any questions if this is a lucrative industry
@stevenchaisson Don't forget that these evil, air-hating, child-killing oil companies do business in almost EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, and their profit margin is the SMALLEST OF EVERY INDUSTRY. So...stop the hate, and just try to think of where we would be without gas and oil. And then if you're still not convinced, sell your car, and see how much your life will change.
Unusual design, swash plate crank system. Very cool, beautiful machining. This is a proof of concept engine, not the solution to the world's energy problems! Just watch it and enjoy! Thanks for posting.
@dave97202 I'm unsure of your age Dave but I am sure your not od enough to remember the Oil Embargo of 1978 and the nationwide Truckers stoppage of 1979. And apperantly the United States collectively has the memory of a mediteranian fruitfly, and the understanding of history comperable to Sarah Palin. The only person in history other than George Bush to make the Special Olympics look like a MENSA reunion.
Yes it would be interesting to see how effective this engine is, economics and performance specs. Is it an effect engine, or just an neat toy, with a different approach to internal combustion? I guess I have something new to read about. Thanks for posting
Very nice, well built. How much?

I see one of the exhaust pipes are directed at the Butane tank is that to help vaporize the butane like they warm propane in a propane engine?

@TheBeans8u
OMFG. The engine base is rotating, not the camera!
Not everything you see on utube is fake, and sayin "it's fake" does not increase your reputation at all.
Stop that please.

With all that detail, this model would look awesome in slow motion with a high framerate.

What would you use this type of engine for? Maybe an aircompressor or generator ? Hoe efficient would such a design be over a convensional engine?

Why not use this kind of engines in cars and small airplanes?!?!

@Dr904 Too much vibration, probably. And I don't know but it might not be efficient enough.

@Dr904 They tend to break a lot, too many moving parts.

@Dr904 Because oil companies want to make billions of dollars by exploiting us until there is no more oil in earth.
