Hey sweet job!!! I'm sure you are in E flat.. The oy kiss song that I know is in standard tuning is torpedo girl... Nice job.... Classic ace riff and one that kinda has been forgotten !! Love that Egyptian style solo.. That is something that ace rarely does !!! Rock on!!!!!!!

Right on the money bro!..One of my favorite Ace songs!....When this first came out I'd go around town and BLAST this A.L.A.P. on my car stereo even though everyone thought it was Santana I was playing. When I showed my guitar teacher at the time...he couldnt even replicate it very well....you have to have the accurate fingering, timeing, percision and tallent to pull it off correctly...ehh?...I think U do quite well! I was so happy 2 C this song has not been completely forgoton by true KISS fans

I don't care how fast someone can play, Steve Vai and Malmsteen and Van Halen those guys are all great and all. But I'd rather listen to a guy who can play with groove, and soul. I wanna listen to something that makes you wanna dance, and Ace Frehley always had that quality. ZZ Top, Angus Young, John Fogerty these guys get it.

And don't get me wrong, I love to watch a guitarist play who can shred up the fingerboard because I certainly can't do it!! But I still love that simple classic hard rock guitar gods!!!

I doubt Ace used a tremolo for this. I'd bet money he did the neck bending trick....that would be more Ace's style! Of course I don't claim to know the answer I'm just guessing. I rarely neck bend for 2 reasons...first I'm scared of warping the neck or loosning the neck joint and two it's just easier to use the floyd rose! I have seen Ace play a guitar with a tremolo though back in the "Frehley's comet" days he played that Washburn guitar with the Washburn wonderbar tremolo.

Oh yes, I agree totally! I may get ripped for saying so but The Elder is one of my all time favorite albums!! When it came out I wasn't even aware that KISS had released a new album...I was in the local corner drug store looking through the albums when I seen this one. My first thought seeing it was "wow, this looks a little wierd...but it does say KISS on it!" It took a few times to hear it until it started to grow on me....but once it did I really loved it and still do!

Ace may not be the most difficult stuff in the world to play...but one has to admit he oozes with style and charisma!! (no relation to your comment of the actual song "charisma") lol. I for sure will get ripped by the "non KISS" people, but Ace belongs in the "guitar GOD" catagory with Page, Clapton, Hendrix and many others. No one else sounds like him or plays like him and I don't care who spouts off about the lack of complexity in his riffs...but the best riffs in history are usually simple!

You are exactly right, Ace is like Chuck Berry, or Angus Young, his playing makes you wanna tap your feet. he plays with a style that very few guitarists really do. he has fun and doesn't try to sound perfect. He has a groove and expresses it with his fingers, just go listen to "She", "Let Me Go, Rock 'n' Roll", "Cold Gin", "Firehouse", "Black Diamond", or "Rock Bottom" from "Alive!" for great examples.

I've found this to be one of Ace's harder songs to play. Surprisingly it isn't the lead solo that's hard....it's some of the chord changes especially during the chorus. I've never seen Ace play this song so I'm not sure exactly how he chords it but when I'm playing it you can see I don't use the "full" power chords all the time. It was extremely difficult to play using full power chords so I used the "easy" 1 finger bar version (instead of playing the tonic and 5th I play the 5th and the octive)
