  • When I was a teenager & these cars were a couple of years old, I had no use for the six cylinder versions of any of 'em, such as the Dusters, & Firebirds, & whatever else was out there I've long forgotten about. But now that I'm older & wiser (I hope) I look at these machines with a whole different view point. Very nice rebuild of a fine engine produced by Chrysler.

  • Why are you pouring more oil in around 7:30? Did you not start it up with a full sump?

  • Man I love that car and engine. I'm pretty much a ford guy, but this is a pretty cool set up. I'm building a 66 mustang with a 200 I6 and cant do anything too crazy because I'm still in high school. But anyway, nice car.

  • What is up with the car tho...... It looks like a dirt track car with a leaning tower of power but the damn body is not right? The Car is a Aspen or Volare with it looks like 68 Dart front fenders or he added the 68 marker lights and filled in the rectangle ones on the original fenders.......

  • The Chrysler B/RB and the G/RG(Slant Six) both have a deep-skirted block. The G block was designed in the mid 1950s to be installed in Chrysler's new line of compact cars. The Slant Six raced in NASCAR long before the 426 Hemi.

  • clifford performance makes alot of good stuff for slant 6s. Indat the make parts for almost all american inline 6s

  • I saw an article in a Mopar oriented magazine a while back and one build-up of a slant six used small chrysler 340 or 360 rods.

  • No he was turn Dist. to adjust the timing. Get shocked happens alot doing it, I have gotten shocked 25-30 time adjusting timing.

  • well ur not supposed 2 turn ur distritor while its running

  • Of course you turn the distributor while its running to set the timing

  • i know i was being stupid lol ... but its easier to do it the start it up so u can listen how it fires up

  • If you're getting shocked while turning the distributo on a running engine, the wires and cap need changed.

  • if it is an auto please tell me you have atleast a 2500 histall converter that thing is not running rite it is missing , i would check the dizzy cap and replace the hei module and the timing is way out or the exhast is rubbing somewere?

  • Well I blew this one up,cheap Trans Adapt oil filter kit.Just had it rebuilt and put it back in last week.Working out the gremlins and will post a new vidio when completed.Have made a lot more upgrades this winter.

  • The marker lights threw me off thinking it was a '68 Charger or something, then I saw the louvers in the rear windows. Nice Aspen/Volaré, I can't tell without the grille in place hehe

    dont forget there is a 215 and a 245 as well

    and the factory pacer motors were over size to about 250cid as the story gose the aussie hemi was a rejected design for a truck motor from chrysler mexico or something likehave a look on a hemi6 origionaly they were going to put the dizzy in the midol like on the slant but moved it to the back of the engine later in testing leaving the bump for the dizzy still on the casting

    ps there was also made a 250 slant not many though

  • To be truthful, there isnt actually a "hemi" six from chrysler. It is a Polyspherical head that they placed on top of a straight up six cylinder block.

  • why are people mentioning the hemi 6? this is clearly a slant 6....and to 73drtsprt, the 265 with 3x2 had either 248hp, 280 with the e38 package and with the e49 had 302hp

  • ummm. the 265 hemi 6. Mopars from down under. aussie Dodge Charger had a 265 hemi 6 cyl with 3 2 bbls and 275hp!!!

  • 105 overbore,10.6 to 1,forged crank,ross custom piston,balanced blueprinted,custom stainless valve,T&D roller rockers,custom cam,header,200 shot nitrous,all ARP studs,evac system,custom 7.5 qt oil pan,windage tray,full manual/reverse valve body trans,coan convertor,fully an lines and fuel system.The list goes on.I proably should have built a turbo motor.Figure it's around 3-325 hp with out spray.Time will tell when I chassis dyno it.

    Also could you email me a full list of parts, build specs and what you would recommend, I want to build my / 225 to 330 hp after I just drove a modded 400hp supercharged jag XJR, holy crap it was a mental beast!!

  • it sound like a diesel but what the hell this can also prove that the slant 6 is the best 6 cylinder ever made they can be dogs for pulling heavy loads or modded to be really fast. what 6 cylinder can do that other than the slant go leaning tower of power!

  • Did you check and make sure you have 12volts+ to the distributor? I'm not sure which wire it is-get yourself a chiltons or haynes manual for it and find which is supposed to be the positive wire. I think you've basically ruled out everything else.
