@theashley2507 Not all of them did. And they didn't "turn" gay. They were doubting their feelings and using homophobic names to cover their own insecurity. And them learning about themselves is what this movie is about.

@MissFeistyPrincess We don't know if Shakespeare was actually gay or not; it's something that literary critics have argued over for years now. The fact is that he DID address a lot of his sonnets to a boy ('fair youth'), and he was at one point accused of homosexuality, but we don't know much more than that. And yes, Shakespeare in Love is a load of rubbish, in that there is no historical evidence that ANY of it actually happened.

Some people say that Sir Francis Bacon was the real author of the works of William Shakespeare. Name shakespeare is really a pseudonym derived from a reference to the greek god(dess) Pallas Athena, spear shaker. whom wears a mask that makes them invisible and shakes her spear to ignorance, & poised to strike serpent of ignorance with her spear. & isn't that what the plays of shakespeare helped to do for illiterate people, in bringing information to them about the world thru oral/visual plays.
