  • nice swap hey what are you getting for miles a tank with that setup

  • @mlangejan not real sure what i get per tank, especially with the tire size throwing things off but i've calculated that i get about 15 around town and 20 max on the highway. its a 17 gal tank, so you can do the math if you would like. i'm pretty happy with how it does mileage wise for how heavy it is and the tires and everything.

  • Wow! This is my old 4-Runner! Were you the guy who bought it from me in Cheyenne, WY, or did you get it from someone down in the CO Springs?

I'm so happy to see that this rig is still alive. I spent a LOT of money getting that rig built.

  • @JustDSM Hey! haha yup I'm the one that bought it from you. it is definitely still goin and goin strong! as you can see, I've done a lot of changes to it since i got it from you, but you def gave me a very nice start. glad to know that you got to see what has been done to it...i've been meaning to send you some pics but never got around to it. you still have your evo?

  • @kliewer888 What a cuwinkadink. haha

  • What did u do for motor mounts and exhaust to clear the steering shaft I'm about to do the same thing to my 85 toyota pickup any tips or tricks are greatly appreciated thanks email me at adammcneil2008@yahoo.com the 4runner is pretty sweet !

  • @KariMcNeil10 I had to move my steering box out about 2" to clear the power steering pump pulley so that helped with not hitting the shaft but then I also just got some basic hooker headers block huggers that worked just fine. as for the motor mounts, i just made them out of plate steel and kept them as small as possible but still strong

  • What are the details on the trans and transfer case. It looks like a 4l60e but I could be wrong.

  • @NoClassic

yep its a 4l60e with dual toyota 23 spline tcases with the front being 2.28:1 and the rear 4.7:1. the 4.7 also has a twin stick shifter

  • @kliewer88 Do you have the part number or a link to the chevy to toyota case adapter? Message me if you need to.

  • Have you checked your fuel economy with the 5.3 yet? I have a 87 22RE with 35s and a SAS I i get about 17 at the highest on the highway and around town.

  • @blanders72 i get about 18-19mpg on the highway with 37s and 4.88s and about 13-14 around town. but i'm also about to redo my air intake to move it to a cooler spot and that should help a little to raise my mpg.

  • Damn, Seems to fit better then the original v6s did.

  • @Motorfordtoyota

haha trust me it wasn't. it took a lot of effort to make it look/fit that good.

  • @kliewer888 lol. Cool. I want to try to squeez a 5.7 i-force Toyota v8 into a 3rd gen 4runner!!! lol

  • @Motorfordtoyota that would be pretty awesome. those iforce motors are insane but i think you could do it in a 3rd gen since the engine compartment in those is much bigger than a 1st gen

  • @kliewer888 It would still be a tight fit, but it would be amazing.
