@zonero174 What rank are you and how long have you been playing Tri? Blood Sport is an INSANELY easy quest. Not for people around rank 18-25 but otherwise, very easy. Ive solo-completed that quest in under 10 minutes without items EXEPT for a might pill. No heals, no bombs, no traps.

Okay, so I just recently got my face kicked by Black Diablos in my best Dual Sword armor, best Hammer armor, and best Great Sword armor. In fact, I'm now taking a break from Monster Hunter so that I can get on Ad-Hoc, just to get past these later parts of the game. Also, if your delivery gets screwed up, you can usually contact them and they will try to make it up to you - either in trying to figure out what happened to your package, getting you a refund or just shipping out another copy.

Also, was cool to hear the man behind the gun, for once. I see him on GameFAQs, watch his channel, great guy all around when you need a little help.

Lastly, do a lot of people use the claw method? MHFU was my first MH, going into Portable 3rd (recently bought Tri but haven't played it), and I never use the claw method when playing.

@Hollowgamer555 Some armor and weapons can be made with drink and other tickets (hot spring, Yukumo, Commendations, etc). They're mostly gimmicky/joke equipment, though, so don't expect anything amazing.

"Monster Hunter" has always been competitive, maybe not in the sense of PvP or competing against other players, but it has always been the Player Vs Him or Herself.

Not in the way you are thinking of, but more in a way that you are always trying to do better than you did before. So hunting a Rathian with a time of 30 mins you would want to to better and cut more and more time off untill you know you did the best you can do. ^_^

And beyond that, the sort of "standard' for the competition varies from person to person, so it's a kind of strange place. Certainly, everyone would probably prefer to finish a quest quickly. However, some people don't really care if they hit that time range of absolute awesomeness/sub 5 minutes for those hefty monsters. And maybe they don't really care beyond being able to

@roboawsome Cutter S and the melee attack does cut damage if I remember correctly, so yes.

@roboawsome Razor Coating isn't like Cutter S. It's more similar to Power Coatings, but with a limited range - you have to be about two rolls or less away from the monster to get the multiplier. It's basically a damage booster, not an item that modifies your weapon's damage type. Though, I think the melee hit of the bow deals cutting damage. Not entirely sure.

@dbzfan296 Absolute Power (Tigrex in the mountain), Black Phalanges (Double Black Diablos), Armored Supremacy (Gravios), Explore the Unexplored (Silver Rathalos), A Single Beam of Moonlight (Gold Rathian), and that should unlock a Shen Gaoren urgent. Beat that and you can fight Ukanlos.

@Trapinnewyork44 The online guild hall in the PSP games isn't actually using WiFi, nor isn't actually online. It's only using local wireless communications. When we play, we use a PS3 application called Ad Hoc Party. It's free to download off of the PSN, but you need a wired internet connection for it to work (also, a PS3), so be aware of that.

Shepard, this is a little late, since your podcast about hunting horns cutting tails was awhile ago, but I had a question about breaking tails. I had read that Luna and Teo's horns only required 1 point of dragon damage in order to break (the rest of the damage could be any type) Is it the same for tails? i.e. Can I mash on a tail with impact damage and then just throw a few pokes in late to get a cut tail?

@proletariatbeliever I'm pretty sure the tails only require cutting damage. The horns are just a weird (but interesting!) special case. There are actually a bunch of breaks in Unite that require 1 point of damage of some type. I think Blangonga's face is the same?

@kev1230bro Jumbo Pearl can be found if you do the red coral stone quest, or the Royal Ludroth event quest.

Light stone is found from the mining the big ice rock in the tundra, and possible other spots in tat area.

@kev1230bro Jumbo Pearls are pretty hard to get in low rank. If you're trying to make one of those crystal weapons, I would suggest you hold off on that. They're not the ideal weapon and you'll be able to get them for free in High Rank. In High Rank, there are Ancient Shards, which are like Rust Shards. Usually, you appraise them and they turn into some random weapon. In low rank, these are usually bone or iron weapons, but in high rank, they are the crystal weapons.

@TheStreetcrazy For that particular ammo - I think it was pierce? - the maximum number of bullets he can load at one time is four. For any other ammo and/or bowgun, that maximum number is bound to vary.
