  • Love, love this!!!

  • GOOD ONE,

  • This is one of the all-time greats of the 50's. Has lots of meaning to me personally.

  • A great group - one of the very best. They also recorded as the Cadets - Stranded In The Jungle, one of the great novelty songs.

  • I love this song! Think of people I knew.....

  • my grandpa willie davis has passed away

  • @Chocolayte909 you got it

  • That's Aaron Collins on lead. He's still with us, I hear, after 55 years! The 50's were the best.

  • They don't make them like this anymore.

    - It sure does "makes me feel better" :)

  • This song reminds me of the time I served not proud of it., but thank god for oldies<3

  • I swear I remember hearing them perform this live for free in 1956 in the tunnel of the 14th street subway stop in NYC, which has some of the best acoustics in the NYC subway system. Does anyone have an accurate transcription of the lyrics, particualrly the stanzas:

Counted my blessing ("Counting my Blessings"?)

Read for us all ("Reach for a Star"?)

To see your face (add "from afar")

  • lol why don't you text me darlin, message me on facebook? nah

I was brought up on this music and like to play it at high volume, gives the other guys at my university somethin to think about. Luckely my girlfriend's also into this stuff, so this song has some nice make out memmories as well as being a great record in general. I'd love that jumpin with the jacks record, might have a look on ebay lol

  • I had an album called "Jumpin' with the Jacks" the whole album was great it had this great song on it, and many others. Thanks for posting

  • This is a real Oldie but Goodie! I can close my eyes and think of those times! I was in my teens and those memories never leave, thank goodness:))

  • love this

  • One of my very favorites..I was blessed to be in my teens when these gems came out..Hurray for the 50's

  • good song thank you,

  • I remember as a teenager in Phoenix Az. in th 50's listening to this song cruising Central ave,and belonging to the greatest car club in the world. The Monarchs.

  • I am sorry prontony.....

  • And - all these songs were recorded on ONE TAKE!!

  • I wish someone would add Hands Across the Table which is another great one by the Jacks/Cadets

  • One of the all-time great classics from the beginning days of rock n roll. The Jacks were also the Cadets, who made "Stranded In The Jungle" - a jump tune of the day.

They were a West Coast group. Wonderful harmony and lead.

  • Records like this were never released in the UK - brilliant!

  • ♥

  • PRECIOUS!!! Thanks!

  • Stone-assed old timey doo wop - talk about being real! It was an era long and far ago . . . lowriding, firin up, suds, Silver Satin and some velvet liquor. I wuz there. Thanks! Showtime Johnny Pal

  • Great selection!

I remember when I was away, and that letter never, ever came.

Finally, one did..it was a "Dear John".

This song will never leave my soul.

    Frank

  • i LOVE doo-wop like this...innocent and dreamy...it's bittersweet because i don't know if music will ever have this vibe again...

  • @arikthefreak Doo wop like this was innocent in its lyrics and intent, and very smooth (dreamy) compared to today's "music". Although innocent on the surface, I would suggest that back in those days it was conducive to slow dancing, dancing real close and maybe even leading to further intimacy.

  • Way better than the Feathers...

  • all i can say is, I love this, love it, love it!!!!

  • you couldnt write a song like this any more, it would be, why dont you text me or email me!!!lol, long live doo wop!!

  • Great song, one of my favorites.

  • great oldies song sounds good when your in jail
