  • Great version depper...right up there with FK and Beck. Leslie can hold his own with anyone...I've seen Leslie with Mountain, West, Bruce , and Lainge and solo and he just keeps getting better...I'm so glad he didn't hang up his ax back when he was second guessing some things....

  • @55slice Thank you 55slice! Hey while you are surfing my channel, take a look at Red House on the Howard Stern Show. Think you might like :)

  • Great tune, freddie king did cover this, as did luther allison and Hydra and about 300 others but it was written by the original souther rocker, memphis' own Don Nix!

  • That should be a EHX Pog, correct? Maybe with a lil delay afterwards?

  • Awesome.........

  • That fucking made my day !!!!

Been a fan aaaaaalways ...just forgot to listen to him last 10 years hehe.

Him and Johnny Winter play slide like no one else ....xept for Boony Rait.

By the way...thats gotta be a poluphonic octaver that makes that awesome sound, ...got an Electro Harmonix POG that does that .

Thanks for posting this ...really apreciate it man !!!

  • In fact.... I have a Johnny Winter & Leslie West duet with an ailing Johnny Winter. Its very magical...

  • Claus, definitely check my page for handfulls of rare Leslie West and Mountain performances....

  • Actually, neither Johnny Winter or BONNIE RAITT (not Boony Rait) hold a candle to Derek Trucks technically. Derek makes anyone else look like a child trying to play slide. This vid is great though.

  • freddie king got nothin to fear from this, but leslie is a fukin mountain

  • This version is a gemstone. They are the better Mountain.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • What's with the 3 1/2 stars youtubers?? Give leslie some more respect! By the way, who originally did this song?

  • FREDDY KING!!!!!!!

  • Yes man it is a Freddy King tune dude.

  • The great Freddie King!

  • Wow! Did you film this yourself? It looks like you're close enough to touch them! BTW what did you think of the bassist during this tour? How does he shake his head and keep the rhythm at the same time!? Did you happen to catch one of their drum sticks?

  • The new Bassist is definitely a change... looks like his head is going to fly off! "The 'Copter" is cool! didnt catch a stick... came close!

  • I always admired Leslie West's guitar playing from the beginning. A Very disciplined musician. He never loses control like some people I know.

  • This was awesome Depper thanks

  • Just love this! brings out the rock chick in me!

    Sandra X

  • Whom is the bass player?

  • Richie Scarlett.

  • SWEET Dep!

  • Leslie West = Make Every Note Count.

  • amazing video!

    leslie for ever!

  • Yeah, that tone could be bottled and sold...

I first saw Leslie in 1970, been a fan since...one of the few interesting guitar players left around these days in this genre.

  • I saw them also that same year. in Chi town. man I loved that band.

  • i love the fat man when he plays straight into the amp with his little gibson then you can hear his fingers on the strings very earthy this clip is great but pity about the standard lead guitar sound lotsa luv

  • Very true. Leslie will use a series of guitars when he plays live. Leslie has gleefully went back to his Les Paul Jr. and his new signiture Dean which is an upgraded Les Paul Jr. sounds awesome. But for the heaviest songs Leslie will rely on his Stienberger... and hes like a crazed Paul Bunyan with that thing. Noone goes near him!

  • Gotta love the original (one of my favourites) but this is really cool too! He's awesome!

  • You cannot go wrong with this song.

  • Hey, Leslie can miss 10 notes in a row and still sound awesome. I have seen him twice and each time was just unbelievable, even playing his Les Paul Jr. with a violin bow, sounding like nothing else. Rock on Leslie, Rock on!!!

  • Looks to me like he is doing whatever the #!*! he wants to do and he has that right! he's paid his dues and earned his place at the top. One of the most underrated guitar players of all time.

  • sounded like LW was a little off tune around 0:53. hard to see what he was doin to the strings when he stepped behind the bassist. maybe he was seein if he was tryin to mess up Richie's vocals. LOL XD

  • it's a great clip. rock isn't 2bazillion notes minutely placed. that's fuckin science. rock is what les is doing up there. he's rockin ur ass off, man. but i'd like to hear him rip it with a LPjr again.. damn.

  • yea i like the Les Paul Jr better. just has a good simple clean sound. and Leslie made it sound like Big Daddy Sr.

    just my tiny opinion. :)

  • Singer/Bassist is Richie "The Bat" Scarlet

  • WHO IS THAT BASS PLAYER????

  • Fire baby.... Check out the Mountain Fan Club website and become a Great Fatsby! thegreatfatsbies dot com

  • Courtesy of the Mountain Fan Club - thegreatfatsbies dot com. Drop by and pay homage to the Original Monsters of Rock! Leslie West's riffs are so esoteric... noone can touch him... stings like a King Cobra.... Blues till the Blues aint Blooze...
