  • Gotta love the hack function

  • what do the audio ins do ?

  • Wow, great sound!!

This has a 64 step sequencer?

  • is it good to use as a expansion synthesizer? i see everyone playing with samples, but i never see a keyboard.

  • @mikak3607

it's not a sampler... it's a syntesizer: you can play it with a keyboard or with the internal sequencer

  • guss this is the poly one?

  • @mikak3607

nope, it is the monofonic version (polyevolver is a simple rack)

  • superrr!!!!!! :D

  • MANNNN..... I need one!!!

  • hey man , i just have one question . what sorta amp do u use with ur evolver ? is that a bass amp or PA ? cheers

  • @Daryoosh69

it goes directly in the mixer.

No amp, it is a synth!

  • @Daryoosh69

no amps: the synth goes directly to the camera line inputs

  • I know that it has 16 steps per sequence and 4 sequences, do you know if they can be "daisy-chained" for a total of 64 steps?

  • @bellurypants

no, you can't use them in series but only in parallel mode :(

  • can somebody explain how you make sounds on a synth with no keyboard?? please help!!

  • @miamiwax

you have just to connect the synth via midi to a master keyoboard... or you can use the internal sequencer

  • @ESSEKNOB can u elaborate on the internal sequencer?? i'm really dumbfounded.. how can u produce different notes??

  • @miamiwax

yes, you can change the notes of the step sequencer by rotating the knobs

  • @miamiwax Why don't you go to davesmithinstruments(dot)com and download the Evolver manual? There isn't enough room or incentive here for anyone to provide a tutorial.

  • @miamiwax

yes you can change every note in the sequencer with the knobs

  • yep, i will be getting one of those =]

  • dave smith invented midi idiot...lol

  • @009relic1 He sure did, and without it my music would sound crap!

  • @009relic1 well he was one of the founding members, but there were a lot of others involved, it was an international effort

  • can it be played alone or it must be plugged on a synth?

  • @ninefootnails you can play on it by itself when using the sequencer as in the video. If you own one, check out the manual on how to make a sequenced sound. The manual is online if you don't have it, and there is also a really in depth and great guide written by a fan which you can find by searching google.

  • who the fuck is dave smith ?

  • @Bluesage2009 He is a electronic engineer out of Berkeley that invented the Prophet 5 synthesizer in the 70's some of the best sounding synths in my opinion. He is also the developer of the MIDI standard that you see in most keyboards today

  • Thanks so much for your demo - I watched this before I bought one, and holy crap this is one of the best buys I've made. I love this box.

  • the tone on this is excellent! it sounds almost just like a Moog

  • @culturaleyes

They're both analog, except this also has digital oscilators..

Moog and DSI are the ''mercedes-benz of synthesizers''.... Even though MB's aren't that great nowadays.

  • amazing vid! I will se more and many more of your vids please :)
