I live in the UK and keep seeing references to whipped topping, is it whipped cream? also what is the white chocolate mix, is it our equivalent of Angel Delight? sorry for all the questions.

@wirralsam Whipped topping is sweetened whipped cream. You can just whip some cream until it is stiff, then add sweetener (I use icing sugar) to taste. The white chocolate mix is mixed with milk to make pudding--which is white chocolate flavored.

Definitely gonna try this recipe out! :) I was wondering if it was okay to put this in the freezer and have it sliced? I was also wondering why some people make dirt cake with the cream cheese, butter, etc. and why others don't.

@linlovesyou1 Yes, you may freeze it, but be sure to serve it frozen or only slightly thawed; otherwise, it will be watery. This dirt cake just uses the Oreo cookie layer with pudding and whipped cream, and the taste is great and it is light and fluffy. You may add cream cheese or butter, but it just makes it heavier, and I don't think it adds that much to the flavor.

@nikiandkinda I have a dagwood-style sandwich and a turkey brie sandwich that could jam as a spread. You can use jam as layers in a trifle. I have a trifle with fruit, pudding, and whipped cream layers--you could add layers of jam.

i was so excited to see this in my sub box, lol! i love dirt cake. i do a variation on this for halloween, but i form the "dirt" into a graveyard and use molano cookies as headstones with the worms peeking out of the graves. i've also put it in a flower pot before with a stem of fake flowers sticking out and used a little shovel to serve it with. it's always a big hit and i love to make it. thanks for an amazing upload, betty.... it's always fun to see u in the kitchen with carter! =)

This is a different version from what I've made...does the butter/cream cheese mixture make it taste more cheesecake like? Mine doesn't call for it, but chocolate pudding and the cool whip and the cookie and it's more chocolate mousse like. I'll have to try this version :o)...Thanks for sharing.
