Is this engine any heavier than the older engines of the same type?

Sounds like buying a different motor would have been wise? or researching issues with the one you have or remount the motor just slightly higher...water sports are like anything you have to tune the vehicle to your application.. one size does not fit all period

I don't see how the water is getting in...even if it's misting out the back it will collect once it hits a soild surface on the cover tunnels. Most covers have a syetem of tunnels that prevent water vaper. Once it cools it's a liquid and just drains out of the cowl...I think you are over reacting

I had the same problem after mounting a pair of supersized flaps, water rise up until the first in line carburator of three. Now will trash flaps and restart.....Best regards and compliments for the nice and technical perfection of video!

water is not compressible........so a small amount of water ingestion raises the compression and increases power..........I wonder if this was "designed" into the XS on purpose by clever Merc engineers?? :)
