  • Oh, joy. Two illiterate wingnuts who have never read a damn thing in their lives, on the radio talking political philosophy.

This is like listening to two hugely obese guys telling you how to run fast and jump high.

  • I did not make that response to Marten on here 12 hours ago, although I have made that statement other places. I'm the co-author of What is the Hegelian Dialectic? which explains our entire thesis on Hegel..My youtube account has obviously been hacked. This is just too weird. Why?

  • This is just an attack on bad applications of communitarianism. Com. is not light socialism or light marxism, com. is a way of handling the fact that free, individual action doesn't always result in the best outcome for the individuals. Take CO2-levels for example, no one has personal benefits from not polluting a resource that can't be private property (the atmosphere), but it's still in everyones interest to not do it. This is a case of the prisoners dilemma.

  • @MartenThuren, Communitarianism is the synthesis in the Hegelian dialectic, the dialectical theory that Marxist ideology is based upon. It's called socio-economics..the perfect balance between capitalism and communism.

  • @Alaskatentlady I'm not a philosopher, but isn't hegelian dialectics just "actually, neither extreme side is right, we need to be more specific"? What i mean is that com. isn't motivated by just the badness of capitalism and socialism but by other factors :)
