Obama won for many reasons:

1) Bush administration and American disdain for republican politics.

2) Biggest, best, and most expensive campaign in election history.

3) Media coverage.

4) He's a blank canvass.

No matter what your political views are, it is abundantly clear that Obama was celebrated with a plethora of attention... making him a celebrity. Not a bad thing, just true.

My point: The McCain campaign gets on a subject, no matter how trivial it may be to the real issues and repeats it to ad nauseam. My litmus test? My buddy that lives in a rural area, that ALWAYS has new (unfounded) "facts" about Barack whether it may be celebrity, religious,terrorist, etc. This is why McCain brought on the same team that Bush used against him in 2004. Basically, condemn the "opponent" even if it's not true.
