No sabia el nombre de esta cancion y la habia escuchado muchas veces wow muy buena cancion de Sting Fields of Gold quisiera que la tocaran en mi Boda!!;)
Loved this song all 27 years of my life so far. Not being morbid or anything but I would love this song played at my funeral and maybe "steady as we go" by dave matthews band at my wedding!
I heard this song in the hospital when I was there because I was suicidal. It was the most internally touching moment of my life. This song is my freedom song.
I think this song speaks to all loves lost, hoped for but never realized, to that empty place that aches to be loved, believed. Yes, God is in this somewhere.
There was always something very melancholy about this song when I heard it in the past. One of those, "I'm not certain if this is a love song or a sad song". It could be one of many things, and it seems this songs weighs heavy on personal interpretation as opposed to flat-out "this is what is going on".
I'm not certain if I like it, but it does have a very clever rhythmic pattern and plays with strong emotional areas in most people's lives...
@TsunamiTD while I too do not understand the necessity of religion in the appreciation of the song, I find you comment quite uncalled for, and frankly, it makes you sound uneducated, rude, and lacking vocabulary, though some would place uneducated and lacking of vocabulary into the same category, I feel it makes a point to mention, similar to the point you felt you were making by stating faggot twice, both times without cause, and carrying different connotations. in short, just shut up. period.
10 facts about you: 1.You are reading this comment 2.You are realizing that this is a stupid fact 4.You didn't notice that i skipped three. 5 your checking now 6.Your smiling 7.You are still reading my comment 9.You didn't realize i skipped eight 10.You're checking again and smiling about ho you fell for it again 11.You're enjoying this 12. You didn't realize there are only supposed to be ten facts.post this to one video and tomorrow will be the best day ever!
This song just takes me back to the 90s. I remember listening to this song when I was very little. It's probably been at least ten years since I last listened to it.
This is one of the BEST non-rock driving songs there are. The last couple times I played it past midnight driving home, I damn near fell asleep because I was so wrapped up in it. It's like my 'calm' song. So good. Thanks for posting.
This reminds me of the fields off Coach Lane near my childhood home in Fairways Estate, Newcastle, and it was at Northern Counties College on the same Coach Lane that Sting studied to be a teacher. I understand he wrote it about land surrounding his mansion in the South of England but I'm sure he would also like it to apply to this area from his youth.
Many years have past ...... youll remember me.....when we walked in fields of gold....upon the fields of barly.....those words always get me...... I imagine this song fits with many people down through the centuries.
I just watched the latest South Park..You're Getting Old...and then this came on when I was still thinking about it and it made me sad. I dont know why so dont ask, lol
it wasn't until i was probably fifteen that i could listen to this without crying . . . my dad died when i was seven and some of my fondest childhood memories are dancing with him to this song. it was his favorite, and now im getting all teary writing this comment lol
@theamazingsamurai yea i know ow you fell man my dad died when i was 6... and im 14 now but still i have like a memory of him i just cant get out of....he saved me from when i almost DIED i sware....i luved him for it i wouldnt be here if it wasnt because of him :D now adays everyday i go and see his grave and pray to god that he stays in peace and that he will be my guardian angel
I have such a soft spot for songs that create a powerful sense of nostalgia. This is right up there for me with In You Eyes by Peter Gabriel, and The Boys Of Summer by Don Henley.
Geez, this is another one of those songs that's about things like love and happiness and serenity and other stuff beyond time and that ALWAYS MAKES ME CRYISH.
