  • Could you post "and then there was the blues? Thanks.

  • Dude I can't find this album anywhere can someone hook me up with it through email or something?

  • Larry. He is my god.

  • First heard this song a few years ago on some cds that a former co-worker gave to me- a down-load on a hundred years of jazz-4 cds through the twentieth century of jazz-'JUST AWESOME".

  • I go so far back that I had this album on 8-track!

  • Can't get enough of The Crusaders.

  • This lineup with Larry Carlton on guitars, was incredible! I saw them live in New York back around 1978, they tore it the hell up!!!

  • This takes me back. I also wore this record out in '76. And, hey aren't these guys just having so much fun! Oh and Crusaders & Steely Dan...Larry Carlton, respect.

  • To hell with those so called Jazz purist. Commercial jazz , Jazz/Fusion, and Funk was some damn good music.

  • I have two copies of this record that are completely worn out. I must have played this tune every night for six or seven years in clubs, but I can still listen to this over and over again. Larry's sound and playing is just flawless. This had got to be in my top ten guitar solos.

  • Thanks you

  • just lovely...and as for the bass ? Hits that spot...4.43 ? Heavy..

  • just lovely...

  • 1 dis like, that must mean you don't like Real Jazz

  • This song made me a Larry Carlton fan. But you know, for as awesome as the guitar solo is, Joe Sample's keyboard is a great compliment to that guitar (he's in a league all by himself), and Stix Hooper has to be in any discussion of great drummers like Steve Gadd, Harvey Mason, Buddy Miles, and Billy Cobham.

  • @L78lancer INdeed!

  • One of baddest Crusaders albums ever recorded. Can play this one from top to bottom.

  • @eric2181965 There's not a 70s Crusaders album I don't like. A good day for me is putting them on in succession and just experiencing one good vibe after another. d-_-b

  • KICKENNNNNNNNNNNN !!!!!!!! :-)

  • I was so into the groove that I almost forgot to "like" it!

  • IMO, this song has the baddest jazz lead solo ever! Larry really plays this solo very soulful and with attitude. This solo is the meat of this song. Larry's lead playing really stands out and is "in your face" lead guitar.

  • @MultiScoffer There's not a 70s Crusaders album I don't like.

  • @MsTexas73 What you think about Larry Carlton's guitar playing on this song?

  • Popwell!!

  • Larry plays a solo that cant be forgotten... then Joe comes in and shows him how its done.....

  • Probably their best jam ever!

  • mY FAVORITE song by the Jazz Crusaders ...Takes me back ...And it was good ...

  • Larry jammed here really hard

  • L.C's solo is so far the best!

  • Joe Sample is a tasty mother!

  • Damn............jam rides out.

  • Definitley one of the greatest Bass guitar works ever! Robert "Pops" Popwell has the credit. I remember seeing the Crusaders playing in the late 70's and he was so much "in the groove" and had his eyes closed and he swayed as he layed his funk. It was INCREDIBBLE!!!!!!!!

  • Moodyman sampled this big time for Norma Jean Bell's Don't you want my love

  • @l3kei And?

  • The Crusaders seriously pump !

  • the best sounds larry carlton a legend there is no one else i went 2 a steely dan concert pretty close hope they come back to new zealand

  • who gives a fuck what to call this. its a fantastic track and thats all that matters yo

  • One of my all time favorite recordings, and definitely one of the greatest bass solos ever recorded. BTW, the "is it funk" debate is kinda stupid.

  • I don't intend to engage in hyperbole. But this is the single greatest jazz-funk composition of all time. Composition aside, how many musicians could even play these licks?

  • Great song. Arthur Adams is an excellent guitarist.

  • @rievans57 Well, you're probably the only person mentioning the rhythm guitarist. I'll give you that much.

  • It's funky but it's not funk.

  • u cant be sure if its funk or not, ur right, it is not the " typical " funk style, this is jazzrock.. but often it is hard 2 deciide what style it is, cuz artists never try to follow the typical stuff, there are always new styles, ehmm i would say this could probably be jazzfunk or jazzrock..

  • @coolioto jazz fusion!

  • pop`s cranks on this one

  • @jamad99 He sure does. Pops (and also Stix Hooper) will get in THAT POCKET...and just RIDE AND RIDE AND RIDE.

  • WOW!!!!!!

    Thnx for uploading this!

We all know who sampled this bad boy right here!!!

  • this!!!!!!!!!!! o my this was funk!!!

  • this IS funk.

good music never dies just keeps getting played!!

  • best play ♪ larry is best!!
