  • TONE FOR DAYS!!

  • absolutely beautiful

  • The toms sound like heaven on earth.

  • bass lets the kit down :/

  • i would be sooooo happy if i had that many drum kits

  • @scrumdidilyumpsish why you want so many drumkits? better learn to play one at a time and sponsors will give them for free

  • @angellreyes true...just sayin it would be nice....but i would seel most of em

  • ahhh wow love your playing. these drums sound beautiful!

  • He's got a great drum face!

  • toms dont sound that good to me.. but thats just my oppinion.

  • Wonderful fundamentals (especially the bass drum). Nice playing. You remind me of Jack D!

  • What cymbals is he using? and sizes?

  • @TOTALITARIO999 It's all in the gear list in the info box above.

  • Comment removed

  • wow this is exactly what I need in terms of sound for my intro into jazz...except those cymbals I'm kinda picky and I'd get some of my own. =P

Too bad this drum maker charges an arm and a leg for the shells but otherwise great kit.

  • @5drum5 What are you talking about?

  • @bostondrum I belive that he don't know neither. This drumset have the most amazing sound I ever heard.... 5drum5, say hello to Portnoy and please ask him to hit harder!!!

  • @bostondrum obviously not a jazz drummer xD or a good one xD

  • @5drum5 umm, those are tuned and sound really good, if this sounds bad to you your drums must be made out of unicorn rectums or something

  • @5drum5 do you know anything about drums?

  • @5drum5

His tuning is very typical tuning for bebop kit. Unless you are a jazz player you're not gonna have a clue how an unequaled bop drum kit should sound so we forgive u for your ignorance. Personally, I tune a a tad tighter for a 12" tom but that's just my taste. The drums sound fantastic. Noticeably better than multiple -ply drum. enjoy bostondrum!

  • Heads sound like Evans J1 heads. Fiberskyn 3 Diplomats would slay on this kit. Same heads that Jeff Hamilton plays on his kit. I've got Fiberskyn 3 Ambassadors and they're a bit too thick but acceptable for small room jazz when you want less openess.

  • @musicalala Oddly enough he's actually using Remo Smooth White Ambassadors. I visited bdc when he was setting up.

  • Those drums sound awesome!

  • lindo o som dos tambores.... fantastic drums sound!!!!

  • if there is any drum company that comes extremely close to that vintage sound on drums, it's craviotto...it's THE custom drum co..!!

  • Try Luka percussion, a company that is based in Quebec, with only solid shell. The best!

  • i know luka and i've tried them out...not really my cup of tea...craviotto has the characteristics of true vintage drums , both esthetically and sound wise....every person that i know that has purchased luka drums always end up selling them in the long run....don't know the reason for that , but it's happened often...there are other quebec based custom drum co.'s that exist ,,but none have that craviotto quality..well mad drums , but they lack what craviotto makes up for ! true vintage sound !

  • at least, Luka are not steam bent. They are directly carved in the tree.

  • what a bassdrum!!!!

  • Ill take you guys over Memphisdrumshop anytime.

  • Oh man.. great stuff. It's a breath of fresh air to hear drums sing and not be eq'ed and compressed to the point of sounding like cardboard boxes. And wonderful playing.

  • only really like the snare

  • escroto!! drumms

  • Great playing. Such musical dynamics! ...and a fantastic instrument to boot.

  • very nice

  • Beautiful set, and wow!! that´s a wonderful sound, as mdgab321 said, "that set, totally sings"

  • great quality all round.

how did he tune the kit up? sounds fantastic!

  • Nice kit indeed!

  • well hes not really playing on a kit meant for rock or metal this is meant for jazz where the bass drum is supposed to have a tone.

  • He has such an elegant touch on the drums and a great sense of what dynamics mean, and yes, this set totally sings! Love it!!

  • they sound beautiful.

  • What kind of ride is this? it sounds wonderful...

  • What sticks are being used in this video?

  • Regal Tip Bob Gatzen maple, I believe.

  • I dont know if it's just the mic but all I hear on that ride are the sticks.

  • ...and isn't it great?

  • Your playing is great and you make those drums sing-especially the kick!

  • That kick drum is just not for me, I would love it more stakato'sh(dunno how u write that in english). But I can see why people like it.

The snaredrum is fantastic, probably tuned by proffesionals but that snare is unique.

  • staccato

  • this is much more 'traditional' than most rock and metal kick sounds. this is closer to what it would sound in the '40s and '50s.

  • once you get to this level of quality in drums, it doesnt become about whats 'better or worse' its just personal preference. these are some of the best drums iv heard ever, ESPECIALLY the bass drum.

  • great sounding kit and nice playing!

  • Wow...That kit sounds incredible, and so does your playing my friend.

  • wow, i just cannot get over the tone of that bass drum, it's amazing! It really is like it's singing

  • man! that's some VERY enjoyable playing! super sounding drums, and the drumming was quite tasty. again, thanks!

  • Beautiful Jerome.

Wonderful sounds...........loving the snare drum sound you are getting. It's really full sounding yet it has a crisp quality to it as well...........very rare in a snare drum imho.

But more important than how nice they sound is the fact that you are just a great drummer.

    I just love your feel.

Very inspiring. I"m going to go out and

play drums now because I'm so turned on watching this.

    Nice work, bub!

  • Toms sound excellent.

  • JD you're a bad mamma-jamma. I love it! Especially at 2:33 on... rrrratha Jackish... the bass sounds like a soft, warm, and squishy bundle of joy

  • nice

  • drums sound great !did the snare come with the kit ? you can make anything swing !! i think matt chamberlain is playing craviotto !

  • Looks nice, how much did that cost?
