great practice! but it doesnt look like it has power. you gotta practice more and more daily and regularly and concentrate more on the striking techniques which are there in each and every steps what you r learning. make sure you practice a lot to make it perfect because martial arts deals with real fighting. so you gotta know how to fight as well
I really like this form it looks really good, i do showlin gung fu to i am trying to learn this off of the video but my room is to cramped lol some of the moves i already saw in our school but the beginning part one with hand motion am not use to that
Just needs practice. Use the weight of your body to put power in your strikes rather than just shooting them out using your arm muscles. Nice form. I like it.
work on your side kicks the double one, your not putting enough power in it, and its very low, hard to kick someone when your kick is low, especially a side kick
what ever the fuck this is it's not fighting form. it's probable great for training through. ive seen shaolin monks doing what looks like practice of powerfull fight technique but i don't know the terminology for what the hell it is that they are doing chinese martial arts are so complicated. i'd love to start training in a kungfu style but there is no good instruction where i live
@PhsykoOmen thats true, your sifu learns from your sigong, when your sigong leaves the world, then thats all you can learn and pass down to your pupils
hmm it looks flashy but it really isnt gonna save u in a real fight but it good to learn really!!...you can gain an improve physical structure..an balance etc ..combine that wid natural fighting instincts an your untouchable
gong fu chuen that might be in fact it mean gong fu form it is not related to a Special form it is more like a general term however someone can call his own form gong fu chuen giving the form a name however it would be like john there ate thousands of john you know hope this helps
It is a sparrow form. I dont do shaolin stuff anymore. You cant really get anywhere with the stuff they teach in the shaolin schools nowadays unfortunately.
@lbrother88 Kung Fu? Shaolin? Not get you anywhere? THen you did it wrong. Always you can get anywhere with any style, but it is up to the person to make it happen. Them and their teacher, in this pair and sacred bond of past generations of time. There will always be a way, but you have to make that way.
@Toyomata chill...I didnt mean shaolin style kung fu that cant get you nowhere. I meant the current situation of many so called "shaolin" commercialized schools that are just there to sell their names, n modern wushu.
Search "Wong Fei Hong Theme - George Lam" It's the theme from Once Upon a Time in China...there's also a Mandarin version by Jackie Chan which is a nice take on the original :) I have them both. Have also seen a video of my Sifu's teacher Master Deng in Hong Kong singing it when he's had a couple of drinks but I don't think that you would be able to get a copy of that anywhere haha.
Weak, weak, weak. Be more explosive for crying out loud. I train with 10 year olds whose Er Ti Jiao is WAY more powerful than yours. You're quite co-ordinated with decent flexibility but more energy needs to be present before I'd put videos of myself out there for the world to see.
i am currently learning Choy Lee Fut kung fu and this is kinda of a mix with traditional and modern because it was recently invented and it was mastered with the traditional ways and that is why i like it thank you for listening!
that cheered me up and made me remember why i started martial arts.
I have been getting caught up in aguments with (some) UFC MMA types who seem to hate all traditional martial arts even things like wing chun?
all they care about is destruction.
even the destruction of their own MMA world doesnt seem to bother them, but I think it may be starting to happen because of the refusal to learn from the past as well as present.
I began to study martial arts when traditional arts were all that was available. I remember when MMA first became popular here. Everyone thought traditional was worthless. So I continually practiced my traditional styles and defeated a couple MMArtists now they come to me for tips and pointers. Both kinds of martial arts are effective and both deserve respect. Keep the tradition alive. That's what I do. Just focus on your form and you will be fine. When it comes down to it you will be ready.
If you practice from a competent teacher who teaches the correct traditional way then u will learn a bunch. But if u just go to someone, for example who is teachin modern wushu then you r learning a dance. So if ur teacher follows the traditional way then stick with him. There's only a handful of traditional masters out there.
MMA guys tend to be idiot jocks that get off on the violence of the sport without thinking where everything came from, they live for what is now not what could be. Pay not attention to them. I used tto think like them..then I grew up!
U did great dude!!!!!! Nice form. I kinda learn shaolin kung fu and kung fu together, but I moved on to jeet kune do and muay thai kickboxing now. Keep up the good work.
Dude Awesome. I can appriciate how much effort you put into learning that form. I have studied another form of martial arts but never any Wushu. I've been learning(Or at least trying to learn) Kung fu forms from books. I hope I end up with the kind of quality in my forms that you have in your forms. Nicely Done.
it's pretty hard to learn a form from book. books is mainly for reference if u already noe the form. I suggest the best way is from a video if u cant find a teacher. at least in video u can see the full movements n its speed.
Pretty good, overall. I liked the form. He should really try to get those stances lower and stronger and move with a little more confidence. It seems like a new or unfamiliar form to him. I see a lot of talent though.
very good, train diligently and with persistence and become great. shaolin Gong Fu teaches us not to criticize the gong fu of others unless we are perfect, because at one time we were all begginers. I'd like to see you make another video in a couple of months
dude, i love your form training, keep up the practice man, you're doing a great job, luving the music aswell, once upon a time in china beats hehe take care mate, peace!
Everyone on Youtube these days are such pessimistic know-it-alls. Watching a single video about shaolin kung fu and they are defining Shaolin and Kung fu and being such douches. Stop. God damn. Nice vid to however made it keep up the good work!
Also, I'm sick of people picking on a beginner to say "that won't work in real life". That's innane. Just as innane as saying a single training tool (ie. forms practice) won't develop real fighting skills. You're right! By itself it won't! But that's like watching a boxer jump rope and saying that won't help him in the ring.
Does the Shaolin also teach to non chinese? I have heard that their code is kept as their secret and is only tought to the bloodline or something. I am eager to learn and if anyone would offer me so, I will gladly accept the matter how hard as long as I am treated fairly.
yo sup as i have said on your other movies pepole who mock others havnt been tought well mocking is not honorable. Good work on the forms keep it up i remember failing on most of my shaolin 5 style kung fu like 4 instance my mantis forms were rubish but after a few years there what im best at. From NinjaZMAN.
I agree with "smackmans" I'm not too experienced in martial arts.. but i can see that he's aware of how it should look.. it's just a matter of his body getting used to it.. that double kick was nice!
Seriously you guys talk so much shit, none of u are sifu's and ur all most probably crap aswell. He's doing what he knows and he says he needs more practice. stop talking like u know everythin about wushu cuz u dont know shit. Wing Chun 4 life :)
a person wouldnt have to b a master themselfs to kno if he was doing something right or not. also its kinda hypocritical how u say that they dont kno anything about wushu- because u dont kno wether or not they do. just pointin that out, nuthin personal.
Um, no. The basis would be learning each particular technique until one feels comfortable with it and using it in combination with other techniques. However, combinations with +20 moves only serve to help one's memory, and not to give them any edge in a match.
you really could put a lot more focus into your forms in general, and this one could also use more power in the upper body. when a martial artist is performing a form, it should be plainly visible (at least to other martial artists) that there is effort and mental focus, and i didnt see that in this form. keep working though, and you'll be great!
keep doing it slow and don't try fast because you have a lot to learn, im not a master but i'll say that you need to work on your legs when doing "gunbu" they are not straight, your back is bent, you got to have a straight back, work on your ma bu
To clarify, here's a bunch of nitpicky details that you may or may not want to know. "Wu shu" basically translates to "martial art". There are both traditional and modern forms, though the modern sport which is a derivative and was founded in the 20th century is also called wu shu.
'Kung fu' or rather 'gong fu' actually traditionally means 'skill' refering to the special skills that martial arts practioners developed and were known for or for their extraordinary skill in the art itself. Though people do use kung fu in reference to martial arts now, it's not really how it's supposed to be used. :)
I don't think that you're conditioned enough for a shaolin form :S Your stances are weak as well as your strikes. Put more intent into everything that you do, that'll make you faster and stronger :D
I dissagree. his stances were correct for shoalin but his side thrust kicks let him down. i would say you should perform them with more speed and focus.
that is pretty good you just need to practise a bit more it looks like an interesting form to learn keep up with the hard work in learning it and it will come.
Focus, and Intent! Are you lost in your form, or are you practicing? Your supposed to be fast, show intent, and not stop every second. just fyi... Nice form, keep practicing, good luck
As he stomps your knee on the way in. LOL Kung Fu forms are deceiving unfortunatley alot of the times even the teachers have no clue what they are actually doing. That makes me sad.
you didn't have to slow EVERY section down, that was just lame, but if you slowed some parts, like a kick or a stance you are proud of, it would have been better. pretty good. keep going at it.
great practice! but it doesnt look like it has power. you gotta practice more and more daily and regularly and concentrate more on the striking techniques which are there in each and every steps what you r learning. make sure you practice a lot to make it perfect because martial arts deals with real fighting. so you gotta know how to fight as well

Focus, and Intent! Are you lost in your form, or are you practicing? Your supposed to be fast, show intent, and not stop every second. just fyi... Nice form, keep practicing, good luck

Why does it feel like this will never really work in real life. I'd just grab the dude, lock myself on to himi and it's over. LoL
