The free agent pool isnt very deep goalie-wise this year. At best the Avs could hope for is Varlamov, JSG or Vokoun, but I doubt thats happening.

Note: Jose Theodore also happens to be a free agent, but Minnesota might re-sign him.

Either way the Avalanche need to take a chance on somebody. A few smart picks and signings, and they could be considered contenders... That is only if they make the right moves. The offseason shall be interesting for sure.

I think this was best swedish fight I have ever seen.. usually swedish players go knees like after first hit but this young boy didint and he did fight against Corso which is very good fighter. @th4970 I have many m8s, both close and on distance, from Finland or with such heritage so I don't think the same about all finns. It's a give and take about people like kalastaa.. there are swedes who rumble up like he does aswell. After seeing some of Corsos other fights I find him quite interesting aswell. But it wouldn't surprise me if Larsson gets into a proper fight over in NHL and swipes a few.
Larsson is very promising and he's only 17 years old. He's a big guy and when he gets a bit more experience, he will be a tough guy to take on. He even landed a few shots in this fight and didn't stand back. Considering the fact that Corso has played longer and has more experience, it's no wonder that he "beat up" Larsson in this fight. Let's see if he can do that in a year or two.

Larsson should have done like Corso did. First, take of your gloves and your helmet. Nevermind the match penalty rule, dropping your gloves and helmet is an unwritten rule the players' should follow. Now, Larsson got a cut because of the helmet and looking for the fight, he just might won the fight without gloves.

But I agree, you should allways drop your glows and your helmet for your own and for your opponents saftey. And since the refs don't seem to make any difference if you keep your gloves on or not, you've absolutely no reason to keep them on..

Seriously people get your facts straight.. In SEL dropping your gloves = automatic match penalty. Larsson was clever.
He should however dropped his helmet as the visor was what made him bleed when it cut him near the eye. It looked much worse than it was.
If Larsson had dropped his gloves Corso could just as easily have been down on the ice.. anyways, nice job for being a 17-year old in his first real fight :)

I think this was best swedish fight I have ever seen.. usually swedish players go knees like after first hit but this young boy didint and he did fight against Corso which is very good fighter. Course Corso almost killed him and boy didint even get his gloves off but still this was best swedish fight ever.

@th4970 I have many m8s, both close and on distance, from Finland or with such heritage so I don't think the same about all finns. It's a give and take about people like kalastaa.. there are swedes who rumble up like he does aswell. After seeing some of Corsos other fights I find him quite interesting aswell. But it wouldn't surprise me if Larsson gets into a proper fight over in NHL and swipes a few.

Larsson is very promising and he's only 17 years old. He's a big guy and when he gets a bit more experience, he will be a tough guy to take on. He even landed a few shots in this fight and didn't stand back. Considering the fact that Corso has played longer and has more experience, it's no wonder that he "beat up" Larsson in this fight. Let's see if he can do that in a year or two.

To bad the reff didnt have any control at all.
The thing that started everything was a semi ugly hit my the TIK player granath, no penalty for that.
But the worst thing is that he missed that TIK player Styf jumped ut on the ice from the player stands and joined in. THAT is not allowed at all.
and still the hit at 0:16-0:17 would have knocked corso back to canada ;)

@Padawan79 . Corso actually keept his helmet on untill Larsson punched it away, so Corso broke the unwritten rule aswell. But I agree, you should allways drop your glows and your helmet for your own and for your opponents saftey. And since the refs don't seem to make any difference if you keep your gloves on or not, you've absolutely no reason to keep them on..
