@bluesman89666 I'm fifteen and I can play it just about how Eddie does it, and even tho it sounded kinda cool he skipped half the notes and did the tapping on the wrong string. I know I'm criticizing a little harsh but some of us think you should respect the song by learning it right and especially teaching it right. Even if you can't play it at full speed. Great lesson Mike. Everybody seems to be complaining that it's not exact... that's good! I used to be in a Van Halen tribute band, and I rewrote parts of the solo to make it more my own. People should try doing that, instead of copying stuff verbatim. Plus, I like the way you showed us Les Paul players how we could get similar effects without a tremolo bar.

Btw, if you're whining about how much this guy changes it, look at the 10 minute version of Eddie himself. He changed it...

Sounds good to me. I think the recording was a half step down but it sounded pretty much like this version otherwise. There are tabs on the net that show how to play Eruption 'like' Eddie but this is the way I'm going to learn the riff.

this guy is definitely got rock solid talent and plays it his own way, of course NOT note for note like eddie did on the first album. Some stuff incorporates opens strings more and perhaps on different strings sometimes, but camon do you think eddie did it the same way twice in any show show? ever... for those of you that want it note for note this guy is not for you, but for a great lesson in technique and showacse you can learn alot from this fella!

Personnaly i have Max gain.. Trebble 2 clicks fom max Bass almost off and reverb on max ^^ but i have 2 amplifiers built into my guitar.. so i can get that awsome "aint talking bout love" sound... but it sounds awesome for this too
