  • i dont know why all the people are hating, thanks for the video, im going to get my hart dynamic drum set next weem

  • Hey, nice drum kit, i have a question. What is the name of the little cymbals?

  • great demo man, cheers. some good natural sounds there

  • I think he had to get an electronic set cuz his mom said his acoustic in the basement is too loud......

  • This video pisses me off!! I mean seriously you buy the best sound module (TD-20) out there and your pads are junk. Especially the cymbals. For the money you spent on ur cymbals you could of got some cheap Roland CY-8's and itd be better. And Hart pads, seriously? Why not buy some good Roland pads instead and make it feel and look more like a acoustic kit? I mean come on thats the whole idea isnt it? Thats why companies upgrade every year or so, trying to make their kits as real as possible.

  • All Roland and Yamaha kits, even the most expensive ones are all focused on shiny hardware and full-size, acoustic style tom-triggers... but the SOUND IS CRAP!!!

    Compare for yourself to this-->

    watch?v=YpjZWujoTDY&feature=related

It´s a new kit with totally new sound architecture (alternating samples) that previously only could be found on drum plugins such as Superior Drummer 2.0 and BFD. It´s created by the guy behind Ddrum that pioneered e-drumming years ago... And I love this kit!!!

  • This is perfect!! thanks dude!!!!

  • Thx, not really a solo, just an audio demo. The sticks are ahead 5b. They help take the impact out of the hard metal hihat.

  • great solo. MIKE WENGREN SIGNATURE STICK???

  • nooooooooooo bruv dont use ahead sticks on ur elec kit..lol... bad move, lol

  • Why does this have so many thumbs down, I think it's awesome man! Awesome groove and awesome sounding snare!

  • Great Sounding Kit and you CAN play it ive got a jobeky with a td-9 module.

  • toms are horrible, your time keeping is even worse. Love your excuses, so your drummming but it's not meant to be in time? ha ha ha ha ha ha and please loose the backwards cap,it reeeeaaaallyyy makes you look like a peadophile

  • @nailedurmum01

ok first of all cool name. nailedurmum, thats really creative

secondly, does it seem like hes trying to keep in time throughout the video? if it does you are an idiot

third, a hat doesn't make you look like a pedophile

    dumbass

  • @rldrummer7 he is playing the drums you fucking moron, of course he is trying to keep time. From 1;40 onwards he is playing a simple 4:4 beat and still can't play with any solidity. If you defend this guys playing then you are obviousley ALSO a shit drummer. If you defend his hat then you obviousley look like a peadophile too.

  • @nailedurmum01

    i look like a peadophile?

i didn't know it was possible to be a peadophile

and i thought i'd just say this one more time

    cool name

nailing someones mom is really funny

    really original

    good one

  • @rldrummer7 you didn't ''know it was possible to be a peadophile''? well owing to the fact that peadophiles exist then i'm afraid so. your a shit drummer and I have an ''unoriginal'' youtube name......I could just change my youtube name

  • @nailedurmum01

that was a speedy response good job!

and you my friend are the idiot because i was making fun of your spelling

    its pedophile not "peadophile"

and why do you assume im a shitty drummer?

    because im not

sure this guy doesnt have perfect time

but hes still 50 times better than you!

and cool change your name then

  • @rldrummer7 actually it's 'paedophile', My error in the first instance was a dyslexia based one whereas you tried to be pedantic and still used the wrong spelling. And you are obviously a shit drummer because you think this guy is not shit.

  • @nailedurmum01 guess what look up pedophile on dictionary . com my spelling was correct whereas your spelling "peadophile" is not so you, im afraid, are the pedantic one and how did you not know it was misspelled? computers underline misspelled words with a red line!! and that's airtight logic there! but i'm going to have to disagree and say i am not a shitty drummer sorry! and i thought you were changing your name to something not stupid?
  • @rldrummer7 lol, don't know what pedantic means huh? and I would check an oxford dictionary before some bullshit american internet one. The correct spelling is paedophile as I have already stated. Plus, you are obviously a shit drummer or else you would be able to acknowledge that this guy is a shit drummer.

  • @nailedurmum01

    hey

ive been messing with you the entire time

    you're an idiot

  • @rldrummer7 ''messing with me''? nice attempt at refuting the fact that you have lost the argument. you are a batti crease

  • @nailedurmum01

    i don't think i lost

    and its batty crease

    dumbass

    learn how to spell goddamn

  • @rldrummer7 no it's batti, just like paedophile is paedophile. ''learn how to spell''? lol you are american; you speak a defiled version of a language that was sired in my country. You have to spell all our word phonetically because the average member of the american populace is such an intellectualy backward tosser. You cant even spell colour. And you are a shit drummer. were done

  • @nailedurmum01

    k so first of all

america is better than wherever you live

    second

nothing i have said in this conversation has given you any evidence that im a shitty drummer

    so you are wrong there

    third of all

    search batti crease in google

and it corrects you to batty crease

    yep. no we are done

  • @rldrummer7 google is american, and 'batti' is an english colloquialism; you fail. And america is ''better than wherever I live''? america is like the little kid with all the expensive toys in the playground who is blissfully unaware that everyone else thinks he's a prick. The whole rest of the world sees you as intellectualy backward. Plus, I have already stated that by considering this guy even an ok drummer, you are obviousley by default, a shit one.

  • @nailedurmum01

k you totally missed the part where i said i was kidding about this guy to mess with you

so your a prick, from a stupid ass country that isn't as good as america

    m.

    argument done.

  • @rldrummer7 americans are less intelligent than the rest of the world. The rest of the world looks down on you. get over it.

  • @nailedurmum01

cool your a dumbass who wishes he lived in America!

  • You.have.no.since.of.Beat.

    Use a metronome

  • alright dude your set is fucking awesome

  • frc e fecsvg

  • Very interesting combination you have there. Lovin' it.

  • Hi Bro, whts up, hey, help me with a question, whats the difference between the Roland td 20 drum set and Hart dinamics(yours) just the module? the features or characteristics are the same? thank u so much bro.

  • @7PP7 Hart Dynamics makes the triggering parts. Pads, and cymbals, etc. The module is still Roland's TD20

  • yo this was awesome dude

  • sweet setup man, thanks for the vid. helps me in purchasing!

  • and PS... nice electronics.

  • @phoband

your comment sucks you righteous arrogant moll

and thats why it sucks coz you are thus the aforeentions

you picked a bad video, thats all. not everyone is awesome to the end of the scale.

but admittedly, this isn't terrible. danny carey would give it a thumbs up.

  • i like from about 1.50

but i think that the reverb or effect needs to be turned down abit

    even for the youtube shitness..

  • u should come be my drummer. haha. love it

  • Ok, I want one of those

  • haha, I like how you say this is just to "show your kit" but this is probably the best drumming out of all your videos

  • Hey, looks good man. Wonder if you have used the stock TD-20 at all? How do the hart drums/cymbals compare?

  • get a grip

  • @simasp93 You missed some letters, that means you can't spell.

  • @simasp93 everyone makes mistakes... bet you cant play shit yourself

  • Kit sounds great, thanks for sharing this.

  • i think i fell asleep mr. pro go take some drum leasons....

  • are those ahead drumsticks?

  • @phoband Oh, man i would hate that...having to sell my kit to get surgery :[

  • nice set. how much did everything there cost? I really want to get one of these Roland sets (the TD-12 or TD-20). I'm being fairly prohibited from practicing on my acoustic kit because of my neighbors complaining, and I don't want to forget any techniques

  • did u split the cables to add more pads/cymbals on the roland td 20 module

  • Why are we arguing acoustic vs. electric? Different beasts altogether. People say an electric can't do what an acoustic can. True, but they're getting really close. Also, my acoustic doesn't have 100 different drum kits, I can't play it at 3 a.m. without pizzing off my neighbors. It has to be tuned, whereas my electric kit is ready out of the bags. It also takes up half the space, I don't need 20 mics to amp it. I love my acoustic for what it is, but the same goes for my electric. Get over it.

  • @dltodd1966 --- love it, finally someone gets it, haha -- not to mention with how far technology has come, for instance, using superior drummer 2.0 into a DAW, you can get reallllly close to acoustic kit sounds. dont get me wrong, i learned to play on acoustic, played one for years, but, my electric allows me to do things my acoustic never did.

  • the only time I will see traditional grip with ahead sticks haha.pimp

  • Just so you know, I also play drums and I don't care what kind of "strides" electric drum makers achieve. No electric kit will EVER take the place of a live acuostic kit.

  • jwebby85: And no electric guitar will ever take the place of an acoustic one.

  • @Jaaqo Actually, that's different.

  • Kit sounds rad! Awsome vid really neat splashes u got!

  • man thats not even in TIME. keep it up, you'll get it

  • you suck.

    and so do your clothes

    and your hat

    and your drumming

did your parents buy you that kit?

  • Omg that was the worst thing i've ever heard, JK bud, it sounds reel nice, it's amazing how responsive those drum skins are now. i wish i could afford like a td20 just to mess around at home while my drums are at my bands practice space it kills me not to be able to play all the time. cool vid, don't worry about those douches, just tell them it's "Loose Phrasing" haha

  • Nice. Got to get me rig like this. Now, as a Jets fan, you guys got some payback coming next season. That first game, when you wild-catted us up and down the field, was the only time all season our defense looked confused. Keep on rocking!

  • been drumming for 44 years...nice feel...drummers seem to lose the importance of space but you have it....im going with hart and roland as well....thanks and keep rocking!

  • Great Video for the TD20 demo.

Sorry if I have upset you.

    Have a great day.

  • I can play straight grooves all day and all night. check out my other videos, i demo a dozen straight grooves while sampling other drum tones - and check out my video fun with delay, 5 minutes oof drumming 100% in time

  • Hi dude, dont get sick...U know u can play straight and thats all U should care , I love your sound, but if u dont like any other opinions, then, do not post videos...

  • Damn I wish I had re money for a kit like that.

  • borrow

  • Play one straight groove for me. And then throw one very simple fill in.

  • why? Should i also vacuum your carpet, walk your dog, and service your wife? no please? just an order, play a straight groove? Are you my producer?

  • Where can you order kit toy cymbals from? See no links for ordering on their website

  • email the dude

  • Ok Phoband - what setting are you using for your kick drum? It sounds like a freakin cannon and it's just what I'm looking for. I have a Hart Dynamics kit I bought years ago so I'm using the TD8 brain. I can't find anything close to this and I'm afraid it's upgrade time

  • check out vexpressions you can get close with them, then tweak it

  • i can understand that. hope your practicing on that sweet rig

  • funny thing is i'm not :) i'm working up guitar skills cause i'm putting together an original band with this bad ass salsa drummer from chile (currently in the US) he's a buddy of mine, were going to try to make an original rock/ funk/ fusion project drawing alot of inspiration from chad smith's bombastic meatbats, but with vocals. :) will use the set for the recordings, should be AWESOME! :)

  • Jealous of the drums, not the attitude. These drums "sound" pro but you don't.

  • reality is i have nothing to prove to anyone :) and you just get tired of all the BS over time. My original strategy was just to delete them. Then ii got tired of that and started ripping into people - its been more interesting that way :)

  • such a bad drumming sry

theres no rythim in your drumming.

  • your a moron, my rythem is complicated, if you don't get it, you obviously are still at ringo level, spend more time playing rock band, then learn an instrument then come back and read the comments then spend more time learning an instrument before you waste more of my time

  • im not sure if you realised...but you cant play the drums all that well...

  • @phoband

i think you do care cause you took the time to answer him

  • @phoband

I'm not sure if you realized, but you are bad at grammar.

  • @imaan9888 come on its obvios that he is a great drummer.

  • Lol reading the comments on this page is entertaining.....

    erm nice kit setup.

r those Joey Jordison Ahead signatures ?

  • no, just regular 5a's and 5b's

yeah the idiots that comment here are hilarious

  • Comment removed

  • i can't play bla bla bla, whatever dude, i've been playing and playing at a high level on drums and other instruments for over 23 yrs. if you aren't smart enough to understand my playing don't bother me with stupid comments just go back to playing rock band and shut up.

  • PREFECTION MY ARSE

    drums are not digital

A cheap 100 pound drum kit set up right would blow this over priced shit out of the water they just rich boys toys and DO NOT SOUND ANYTHING LIKE THE VIBRATION OF A REAL DRUM.

  • Wow, you need to take your old ass, and "they did it better in the old days" Bull-hit off my page. I wasn't trying to make them sound like real acoustic drums, which i can - i'm trying to make them sound like post production studio drums, drums to throw into a mix live or studio recording. So go wack off to your acoustic drums in the corner of the room, i'll be out sounding proffessional

  • Mines a 68 Gretsch silver sparkle. roland or any digital enviroment could not even dream or get a pre or post sound

Nothing is perfect or should claim to be not when u have to plug it in LOL thats dumb

Your dedication to it sums up your whole approach to music

when you have all grow up you will understand.

  • dude, your such a duche, your gretsch kit isn't going to be heard by anyone unless there are very expensive microphones which then go through processing and post produc tion and then mixed down to an album.

Uhhh, i'm skipping the useless step I don't have the time to shut you up perminatnly, but i could make this kit sound like an old gretsch kit right in your basement like you remember. - But why would i want to sound like that when i can sound PRO. Out of the garage, into the future.

  • where do u get thos little symbols at??

  • read, read read, its all here

  • how do u order the kit toys and connect them?

  • answered a million times here, google kit toys, its a guy int he UK and they are triggers just like they plug in

  • how the fuck did u connect the other cymbals and toms? there is only connection for snare and the rest only in my td 20.

  • used to work for hart the drums are amazing, and worth the price. talk about a lasting kit. sounding great man...

  • yeah, i am super happy with them

  • very niicccee. but why are ur toms overlappin ur snare and floor tom

  • to get faster rolls because he isnt fast enough and couldnt play an acoustic for shit

  • Maybe he likes them that way! @drtrider147: Good players try to get things close to make playing easier. Only a fucking idiot would widely space his drums to make himself look faster! Could it be you're jealous of this guy's skill? Take a look at the great finesse players and learn.

  • whoo go dolphins! lol dude you're amazing... i'm gonna get a TD-9 set like in august but i've been playing for a while... but it'll be my first set... haha yeah you're like amazing haha!

  • Google "kit Toys" its a guy in the UK who hand makes them. also the china. good stuff

  • haha thats pretty cool man

i dont have the money for that

i like the kick sound. its very black metal trigger sounding

    haha

  • yeah well, i love Mike Portnoy, can you tell? Also, Shane Gaalaas and Jerry Gaskill

  • dude. Portnoy is amazing. i havent heard much of dream theatre's songs but the songs i have heard like "panic attack" (rock band whoo!) are incredible.

  • i have 5a's and 5b's

  • its not a drum solo - in fact its not ment to be in time. its called, hey, let me show you a sample of the drum sounds.

  • MINE. NAOW.

  • Sh*t these are so insane!

  • Uhhhhh.??? Are you really trying to play?

  • no dummy i am showing the souds in the kit

  • read my posted commecnts before you make a rediculous observation

  • Dummy? Thats not nice

  • not nice? you mean like uhh are you really trying to play bevis. - if you don't want a snappy answer don't be a jackass in the first place.

  • I personally hate electric drum sets. But good job.

  • I used to own an acoustic drum set for 2 years, and sold it. Why? Cuz I hated it, took too much room, muffling and tuning is a bitch, TOO LOUD for my next-door people, and it goes on. Thats why I perfer my electric drums the TD-20. So personally i hate acoustic drums compared to electric drums. But we all have our different opinions.

  • How is the TD20 not real enough? Its a real drumset. Calling electric drums fake is like calling the electric guitar fake. For example: comparing the acoustic guitar against the electric guitar. Does that sound familiar? Is the e-guitar real? Yes, does e-drums and e-guitars both uses Amps? Yes. Acoustic drums are more widely used because its tradition just like the electric guitar. So what is the difference anyway to call electric drums fake or not real enough apart from the electric guitar? :]

  • Ok, you proved me wrong. But I'm still sticking with accostic.

  • That's kool your staying with acoustic. Regardless which one we all choose to play. Its all good. Drumming is drumming.

  • non-professional musician (hobby) choose electric because they're small, quite, and great for practicing and home recording. Actually if you record your drum with sound quality of this video, it'll cost more than electric.

Also, there are some great inexpensive kit, like Alesis USB Pro..

  • thats true. electric drums are great for hobbyists, those who wish to practice for the big time, very compact, easy user-friendly and etc. You should see Danny Carey from Tool's drumset. He uses the Mandalas E-kit on the 10,000 Days album and everynight on stage. So basically his kit is over 30% e-drums and rest is acoustic. :]

  • Dude, you're making a hell of a confusion here. ELECTRIC guitar, but ELECTRONIC drums.

The guitar is always organic, it's a string you hear, no matter the electric processing afterwards. You can't help but keep the organic part.

Electronic drums are synthetic, even when sampled. They are trying to recreate the organic part.

That's why people hate them so much.

This sounds horrible to me. I just listened to a blues-rock album with e-drums. That's how you commit commercial suicide for your band

  • Dude, Electric and Electronic is the same thing. And No one gives a shit about "organic". If it plays its a damn instrument asshole. Heard blues-rock from e-drums that sound shitty? LOL! Try listening to a $6,000 e-drumset and say that shit again. Both are real instruments in the same family. Try thinking before you post stupid shit up asshole just because you got all pissy. Get used to it.

  • Well, you don't seem frustrated at all :o) You sound like someone claiming the Messiah is his next door neighbour. Have fun counting the successful e-drum albums on the market, or e-drum concerts.

Even your very well displayed IQ you should be able to count up to that number.

Oh, and don't forget to pay the electronics bill.

  • LOL! worst comeback ever. you failed miserably lol! Try again later dipshit! Ha!

  • I wouldn't be surprised if many large venue concerts put triggers on at least their kick, snare and tom to better control the mix. I also wouldn't be surprised if this has been going on for many years. As for the albums, how would we know? People used to have the same argument about analog vs digital recording and now how many albums are recorded digitally? Probably too many to count. It's only a matter of time before most people would not be able to tell the difference.

  • Of course they do, but you can hear it. Listen to Rage. Other people do it for monitoring purposes, too, it's a very nice way of having a clean, isolated sound in your in-ear. As for recording, people tend to do both on a lot of records, I agree. And yes, it is a matter of time before we can't tell the difference, but it is not now. Mind you, I have to recognize Addictive Drums is pretty impressive...

But I was commenting on this video. And man, does it sound bad, sorry for those who like it

  • lol, you're so posh, haha

  • nicer face expresions!! :D lol

  • sounds good but the timing seems a tad off.. O_o

  • the splash all the way to the right, you have a different sound programmed to it. what's the sound called on the module and what's the tuning for it? i have the same module and love that sound, i can't find it though

  • Yes my friend, that is my cusom Mike Portnoy Max Stack cymbal. look it up. The settings are easy, take a raunchy large china, add rivets-i like the chain, then kill the sustain to like -20 so its just long enough to have a little decay - i just wish i could do octoban - if you figure that out let me know

  • i knew it was that cymbol on portnoy and bozzio's set, i had no clue wtf it was called. thx

  • thats not a splash dude its a peice of rubber you can make it sound like a elephant if you wish

    LOL

  • You're a disgrace to drumming and percussion if you have a problem with eDrum kits, which are JUST as real as ACOUSTIC KITS!

Not only are Roland's and Hart's higher quality than many Acoustic kits, but they have the advantage of being able to use ANY sound you want, NEVER have to be tuned, BE ABLE to be tuned to WHATEVER you want, and be able to be recorded with the HIGHEST quality VERY easily.

    Get a life, and shutup.

  • You should really back up a little and sit on the edge of your seat. That way youll be able to move your legs a little faster and more precise.

    Nice little demo tho'!

  • Best of luck

  • 1. they aren't samples

    2. my digital recording capabilities are all screwe up.

    3. i have a long list of projects i need o ge done for myself, like put up some audition videos and get some gigs

  • all in about 3500, i bought and sold somethings to get whre i am. Bought a heart kit, sold off pieces i didn't want ect ect

I may be selling the kit soon if the economy doesn' improve.

i'm also building a version of the kit that can travel

  • Nice kit...you do some good drumming as well, just a little bit of advice, take it or leave it...back up from your kit a little if you have the room. I used to play with my drums as close together as they could get and basically sit on the snare...it wasn't until I backed up and let the kit fill out and open up a bit that I really got a good groove to my drumming. Keep it up!!!

  • first its a fish eye, makes me look closer than i am, but, it was done specifically to be able to make moves faster. Closer = faster.

but i am about to redesign EVERYTHING!

  • heard, you obviously know what you want...but if you are playing with your elbows in your hips because your drums are too close, you will not be faster, you will be off rhythm and out of the groove. I used to do the exact same thing, like I said...I'm MUCH improved since backing up and giving each drum its own room. Closer was not faster in my case, but whatever works for you is what you should do.

  • Buy EZDrummer or Suoerior Drummer 2.0.

  • Bitchin' Kitchen!

  • Amazing Sound !!

  • they take the kickback out of the harder pads, rubber pads and cymbals.

    Totally worth it

  • Plus they're black and white :)

  • Hi there,

    Some questions for you mate.

What camera (specific model & year) do you use? and what jack do you use on the camera to plug the td20? reason is that I'm getting several answers here from the camera shop guys and I am trying to plug my td12 directly to a camera to get the best possible sound Thank you

  • maybe turn on that built in metronome

  • Hallo, Frank from Germany...I have the TDW-20 since a week....you have a great sound....I Love your snare....what is this for a Set ?

    Thanks

    Frank

  • logik pair of sticks! doesnt hurt the color

  • I was allways against e-drumkits. But i played the TD20 a while ago and by seeing some of your movie and how you are able to extend the kit you want it, i'm considering of buying one myself!!!

    Thanks for posting!

  • are you using a midi converter for the extra cymbals?

  • i LOVE that kit

  • la bateria suena mortal, pero tu tienes el metronomo sin pilas...

  • Those must be the older TD-20´s, they don´t make them anymore

  • very nice!!<3

  • perfekt is was anderes..

  • go dolphins

  • do u recommend those kit toys, are they dual zone? or chokable
