  • oil cooler lead to a blown egr cooler which allowed coolant get get into the combustion changer and make very high compression and then the cylender heads start to lift off the block. Great video by the way I love that tool for the back drivers side head bolt.

  • @dukie1877

Thanks for the comment! I have encountered that many times before! The tools make it so much easier!

  • Why not replace those crappy torque-to-yield bolts with some head-studs?

  • @traxxasmaxx33

It comes down to what the customer want and pay for. These redesigned head bolts are much more reliable and it was never the bolts that caused the failure, it is the oil cooler that causes it.

  • why not go with the new stronger studs?

  • Great Videos Man! I"m a truck mechanic myself, I was thinking about buying a Truck with a 6.0 in it with a blown head gasket. I was goin to use it for a work truck .should I stay away from it? is the head gasket ,head bolt problem. reacuring?

  • Just in time Rusty. My van just went into surgerey

  • Another awesome video SMT. You have helped me so much on my 6.0. Just wondering since you had it apart why you went with stock head bolts and not studs?
