  • Hey guys, stop hating. The point of this video is to get a better understanding of the song and how to play it. If you want a more vague and less in-depth explanation as to how to play the song, then you shouldn't even bother leaving stupid comments and such. This tutorial was excellent and I learned how to play this song without any trouble. People need to stop hating -.-

  • Best tutorial for this song on youtube imo

  • hey guys im gonna teach you a song but i'm not gonna teach you the song, ok?

  • Your tutorial is excellent

  • Hope my video can help people who just want the piano music and no talking........

  • @markymark251 My video is a tutorial and yours is a performance. If people simply want to hear the piece without learning it, yours would definitely be the better video to watch.

  • @unrest655321

I like your explanation of how the song is put together.

Some people come here just to be haters.

Keep up the good work with your tutorials.

  • Ah yes. Thanks, I can now get a good grade on my piano class solos...

  • Check out my solo piano version of Great Gig by clicking the link.

    Comments and subscribers are welcome.

  • Shut up with the explanation and play it! I see your fingers move, I copy. That's it. Voice NOT NECESSARY.

  • @CylusFox04 Go watch a cover of the song then you angry asshole

  • @CylusFox04 Most people have made positive comments about the level of information I give but I appreciate that a few people have very short attention spans.

  • @CylusFox04 dude fuck you. he did a great job explaining the chords and how the 2nd and 3rd inversions work. so kudos to him.

  • Thankyou unrest, soo much. due to my inability to read music, i have to learn everything by ear. it was a painstaking few hours, but i learnt this thanks to you :) now time to go and perfect what i have learnt. thanks again. please make more tuorials.

  • Dimitar Berbatov!

  • dude, great job, i like your work lol i moved my casio px130 to my computer just to learn this

  • Well, many thanks Sir, from Montréal, Québec, you really have this in you (the teaching part). Sorry if my english is a little weird, I'm basically french speaking.

  • literally learning piano by watching, cheers mate

  • Yes. This is actually what I needed ! I just heard this song really high and I was like " I gotta learn how to play this" much appreciated! haha

  • thank you so much unrest you made this so easy, i really appreciate this

  • Part 2.

I can play Elton Johns material and although it is good in parts it does not measure up to this written by Richard Wright.

Wright may of not been a superb player of the keyboard, but this particular piece show he had a lot more than what people gave credit to, regarding his playing abilities. It just goes to show what a bass guitarist such as Waters really knows about music in the first place.

Thank you very much for this delightful tutorial.

  • Part 1.

First up I would like to say that this tutorial is Excellent and thank you very much for teaching me how to play a bloody marvelous and delightful piece of music.

The next thing I would like to add is the fact that how the hell could Roger Waters state when he sacked Richard Wright that he was not good enough keyboard player. The chords in this piece of music are totally gorgeous, ffs it even uses 3 inversions of B flat. Waters is a twat.

  • thanks for this tutorial!!

  • well done, thanks for this mate

  • i dont know why, but it sounds a little different on my piano i play the exact same notes as well?

  • very well done tutorial, people who think you need to be a qaulified teacher to teach piano are so limited, some of the best teachers have never qualified, its just being inspirational.

  • @gcend It is the right notes. Just not necessarily in the right order.

  • @gcend he did a great job, dont be such a dick head yourself. if u can do better then you post a video

  • @agegennaro its common sense, dont be trying to teach something the wrong way if you're not a qualified teacher. In his video you can tell he was pressing the wrong keys. I can do better than that. if you play by ear its cool, but dont try to teach someone the incorrect way, dickbrain.

  • @gcend you dont need to read music to play, if it sounds right then whats the problem, go and criticise someone who deserves it. i would call you a dickhead, but thats an insult to dickheads.

  • @gcend - What does reading music have to do with anything you horrible twat? There are many great musicians out there in the world that cannot read let alone sight read music. Ok so this is not note perfect but can you show me a video on here that is? BTW that Sonique video is gay as fuck.

  • Bravo!

  • Thanks for the up, I can now pay homage to a great musician who sadly isn't around anymore.

  • lol video stream froze just after you said "i don't know how to play it" that fills me with confidence for the rest of the tutorial :L

  • hey thanks mate

  • thanks im 12 and learning it with NO PIANO LESSONS EVER. thank you, and i have been showing this to my dad ;)

  • Thank you so very much.

  • click right dicken's sky? XD

  • can you play Pink Floyd's Nobody Home?

  • @MrMatto91 I don't know it I'm afraid. I love Pink Floyd but for some reason, I've never felt it for The Wall.

  • @unrest655321 you like pink floyd but not the wall?.. what the hell!?

  • @annonymius

    Part 1

I can understand this theory quite easily to be honest as a long time fan of Floyd's music. Although I would not say entirely that I do not like the Wall. But what I will say is that the Wall is very much commercial regarding Floyd's music in terms of that came before it.

I would even suspect that you yourself first got into Pink Floyd when they released the Wall, which is something that I find with a lot of Floyd's fans. Who have more respect for this particular album.

  • @annonymius

    Pat 2.

Although I like the Wall it is certainly nowhere in my own opinion remotely as good as Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and Animals. It's not even remotely as good as Meddle for that matter.

The Wall is very much what I said it was in the first place a commercial album and nothing more. It was also the album that started the downfall and demise of such a great band without a doubt. So there is another reason for not liking this album so much.

  • @unrest655321 Dude. Dark Side of the Moon is one of the most important milestones in the modern musical experience. Pink Floyd introduced the concept of huge lighting and effects for a live concert. The album is worth listening to.

  • AMAZING!! You only have to pause the video and work through it piece by piece to get it. I don't see how some people could find that such a difficult task? Thank you so much!

  • Thanks. very patient, very useful lesson

  • i thank you very much sir. always wanted to play this

  • 4:03 sounds like "Highschool lover" form the band AIR

  • wonderful... thank you. I played this for years, knowing the chords and patterns, but your inversions and patterns give it new color to me and are truer to the original -

but hey what a wonderful song, ah?

  • I think you should make more Piano videos.

  • I totally understood your instructions, and ive never had a piano lesson in my life,so thankyou....ive always wanted to learn to play this ......superb!!!!

  • GREAT tutorial, I've only played piano for about 12 hours ever and with this I learned it in 2 days. THANKS!!

  • That's one hell of a brilliant tutorial!!!

  • i dont get what the second chord of the song is called. Is it F(b5) 2nd inversion??

  • @sillyhatday Yeah. That's right.

  • Thank you so much for this! I can now play it! :D

  • This has been extremely helpful. Thanks very much!

  • thank you very much for this

  • this is the tutorial i'm gonna use, there are others i like but this one seems most complete.

    thanks lorenzo, just kidding.

  • Nice tutorial. Thanks.

  • First time on camera? I started from scratch (and i mean it) and now i can play a whole song! THANKS FOR ALL!!!!!!!! YOU'RE GREAT!!!!!

  • You look like Dimitar Berbatov :D

  • This is so awesome.

Unfortunately, I can't click like on this video however,

because coincidentally it is on exactly 4 hundred and 20 likes.

  • @PsychicFlight I see what you did there.

  • Thanks for getting me on the right path with this one.

  • awesome work. i can actually play this beauty now.

  • Hey Berbatov

  • awesome job ! I just learned it , thanks a ton...

  • big thanx mam !

  • this video helped alot but does anyone know where i can get the sheet music?

  • can you make a tutorial of the trial? i love that song

  • can you make a tutorial of the trial? i love that song

  • sheet music??? PLEAAAASEEEEE????? ^^

  • @BeatlesFanMccaLover

    Can't read music I'm afraid.

  • I accidentally clicked dislike :(

  • Thanks for adding this.... I am transcribing this song to five string banjo, which believe it or not the voicings of the piano fit nicely to banjo when done correctly.... Anyway, just saw where you were catching shit from a few people and wanted to thank you for posting this because I needed to find out how you get back to the Bminor after the Gmin7th to C change. Thanks for helping others! Very Very Helpful!

  • Thank you.

  • Excellent video mate, you explain the chords progression very well and dont forget all the little things that a lot of people would miss, dont listen to the haters,i think you did a very good job.

  • Haha, wow! (o.O)

This is a fantastic tutorial! :D:D:D

    Awesome job!

    Sounds great! ;)

  • All these years and never learned keyed instruments but as soon as I pick up either a MIDI controller or a synth or whatever this will probably be my first exercise. Never get tired of this song.

  • I really like it, it's too good =) ,,but actually you are talking TOO MUCH

  • @mostafa189

What I'm saying is an important part of learning the piece. The video is 9 mins 41 seconds long and I teach the piano part of the whole song. Is your attention span really that short?

  • @unrest655321 Actually it is =) , as I can press Pause =D,,,But you are RIGHT =)

and by the way Thank you very much because I learn it =)

  • @mostafa189

Asshole! He's trying to teach you. Shut your fucking mouth and listen! YOU came to this page "trying" to learn this piece. If you were such an expert, you wouldn't be here now; would you. God people suck!

  • @fairmountfairy

First, I said that it's really the most good and helpful tutorial as I replied to him,,

Second, besides I liked the video, I mentioned only the one negative thing about it,,

Third, it's NOT UR FUCKING business...

  • Lorenzo you are the man, cherio mate

  • ... and the point of this is? Sounds crummy!

  • @MattScottUK

It's a tutorial for people who want to learn how to play this song that I did because I'm nice. You—on the other hand—are not because you post unwarranted, insulting comments on people's videos. People only do stuff like that because they have self-worth issues. Shame. Ah well.

  • Lorenzo ROCKS!

  • Awesome job Lorenzo, great tutorial.

  • I didn't see any mistakes that was great thanks!

  • @xXxGODSMACKxXx Because you're blind and probably tone deaf too!

  • @MattScottUK

Oooh look. I blocked you. Oh dear.

  • Maybe he's not a grand piano player, but everything he showed was correct. He didn't make any mistakes.

  • That's great Lorenzo, keep it up!

  • Hello there! Thank you for this video. I can play my favorite Pink Floyd song now and I am absurdly content. Thank you again, man.

Oh Lorenzo, you hated your name so much

it hurt you very time that you touched

  • When my band played this, we used a guitar with overdrive instead of the screaming. It sounds really cool :D

  • @DarkOctane I can imagine that would sound good.

  • @DarkOctane Please, let us watch it!

  • @DarkOctane You should upload that, id watch it!

  • @DarkOctane do you think you can tab it out for me?

  • @damouse8 You should try learning it yourself without tabs, that's what makes a good guitarist great.

  • I am trying to teach myself piano and this really helped me learn some chords! As I don't know your name, I will call you Lorenzo as other people seem to have done for some reason... so thank you Mr Lorenzo, you were of great help! =D

  • really good lesson and great use of keyboard

  • Hi there! First of all thanx for the subscribtiption, I suppose you saw my medley piano tribute to Rick Wright which begins with this piece. Also, although I know well this piece, I watched anyway this tutorial because it was a pleasure to see how it's done well. Not only your transcription is exact, but well explained. I see many tutorials where they just play, instead you also explain all harmonies in order that one can memorize it and appreciate the composing talent of Rick.

  • Sorry, I now realized that the sub was from another user, which had put your video in foreground, so I don't think you saw my video. I'm sending it to you.

  • how would you know its easy if you already know how to play the song

  • @crockzy91: Because when teaching I put myself in the shoes of the pupil. It's fundamental in teaching.

  • Thank you very much for posting this video. I'm currently attempting to learn this song. I love Pink Floyd!

  • Thanks Maaaan! I love this song and I think it's the best one to practice the true "feeling" I put into my piano playing, and as I'm not the best piano sheet reader, this is the fastest way I have to learning the songs (if it is not by ear). Thanks again, and I'll be hoping for another amazing tutorial!

  • I have been hopping around trying to learn the keyboard, and your lessons seem to help the most... you walk through it giving me time to grasp.

    keep it up!

  • Great Tutorial, thank you! (more vids expectet and welcome ;-)

  • Great explanation and clear to most keyboard musicians. Thanks for the posting.

  • thank you so much. I play by ear, and these odd chords were really making it tough for me. much appreciated!

  • Thank you so muchh. Learnt it straight away :D

  • you rock!!!!!! i am only a kid and this video helped me perfect my dads favorite song!!!!!!!!

  • by some unbelievable chance I have just gotten a baby grand piano (and it's actually pretty big)!

This is the first song I'm learning on it. It sounds absolutely wonderful... I can only do the first page though yet.

  • Rick was a beautifully enlightning mind. May God be enjoying his talent and passion. I´m pretty sure He is. Thanx dor posting this.

  • If he is, Rick probably isn't an atheist anymore.

  • grazie ci tenevo molto a questo brano, finalmente lo imparato.

  • This music is a master piece.

    RIP Rick Wrigth
