Historically I would have supported the secularist factions like the PFLP but continuous brutality and supression by Israel targeted at the most progressive and radical leaders has left these factions weakened and filled with corrupt bureaucrats.
In this vacuum the only groups left offering real resistance have become, increasingly, the fundamentalist groups who fire rockets and blow up buses...

After years of trying, in 1994-2002 everything that we've suggested was denied, and the terror was high, we've stopped believing we have a partner for peace. What I cannot understand, is the support for terror, the more terror there is, the more we get far from peace, and terror is useless, it can't defeat us.

The siege on Gaza will remain as without it we get more terrorist acts, we want for the Palestinians to stop the terror in order to have peace talks, as opposed to ten years ago where during the talks busses and discos were blown up. With terrorism, we'll just get stuck the way it is right now. As long as we don't feel secure there's no reason for us to make peace.

The Israeli state was established to provide the west with a military base in the middle east, much as Zionists might delude themselves otherwise, and considering that most of the world's Jewish people live outside of Israel I'm afraid your argument doesn't hold much water.
As for who is continuing the violence, the very act of living on stolen land (i.e. all of Israel) is an act of aggression and any person willing to do so forfeits their rights to peace. Palestinian resistance is legitimate!

I'm not saying I agree with all of the the tactics used by the various Palestinian factions. Historically I would have supported the secularist factions like the PFLP but continuous brutality and supression by Israel targeted at the most progressive and radical leaders has left these factions weakened and filled with corrupt bureaucrats.
In this vacuum the only groups left offering real resistance have become, increasingly, the fundamentalist groups who fire rockets and blow up buses...

I never said that. I understand that Israeli is in a difficult situation. However, continuing settlement constructions and taking irresponsible military actions in civilian regions will only infuriate the local population and lead to more terror recruits. Israel is breaking the hopes and spirits of the local population. When there is no hope left for the people, they tend to resort to terrorists activities.

Yeah I agree, I'm against the settlements, actually most the country is, and I deduct that by the recent government decision to freeze many of them. The settlers are right wingers and extremists. I also agree that Israel shouldn't infuriate the Gaza population, but the decision was to go on an operation that would eliminate terror, not civilians, even if mistakes were made. I think that the decision was justified, no one should live under terror for 8 years and keep quiet.
