  • Sounds very nice to play this piece. Gotta learn it!

  • This reminds me of Blackbird by the Beatles. Same finger pattern in the intro. just a bit different.

  • 13 people play guitar with a pick ?

  • I CAME!!!11!1

  • op.8 nr.3 ;)

  • @ismDUKAGJIN and i think its rather an imitation than the original song ;)

  • that was amazingly amazing cant find right words please help!

  • Kelly Valleau is our Guitarist of the Month @ guitartube !! Congratulations !!

  • makes porn such a waste of time

  • @tyranitarxd wtf nice

  • Anyone else think this guy looks like he should be playing metal instead of classical? lol

  • Comment removed

  • @MiryChesstopher You'll find that alot of metal-heads quite like calmer music too. Check out Andy McKee, in one of his interviews he explained how he was a led-zeplin fan, a real metal head, metalica and such, but his music is so relaxing.

  • @DomTheRocker1 - Quite a few of Zeppelin's songs are quite relaxing and not heavy, even though they may still be quite fast. Songs like 'the battle of ever more', 'black mountain side' and 'over the hills and far away' are just a few examples of their lighter songs, nonetheless, their all still very beautiful! ...But your point is still right, cos most Zeppelin songs are pretty Knarly! : )

  • The best part was the mischievous eyes at the end ;). Bless all of these great talents in music today.

  • I like the way you took some of his tunes and you made it your own, very, very NICE!!!

    Marcelo Jose Ramirez

  • I love playing this kind of music on guitar. You're really good.

  • very nice n graceful

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • This is so good and perfect.

  • Does this guy have an album?...if he does I want it!

  • Also, please post tabs! This is such a beautiful piece, I want to learn how to play it!

  • Love love love this.

  • That's just unbelievably awesome. I've been playing guitar for over twenty years and I can tell you that watching him play makes me want to burn all my guitars and find a new hobby.

  • I usualy listen to another music style, but this is really beautifull. That makes me think that there are no "music styles". There are just musicians as Kelly Valleau, and the others :-) Well, let's press PLAY again :-D

  • You are Genius! :-)

  • man you one of the best and guys don't give me minus but i think this man is much better than that asian kid, i loke Sungha but Kelly is much better, his Beethoven Symphony No 5 is amazing and very hard to play

  • I really think everyone should be allowed to think that classical music is boring.. : ) BUT one really don't need to comment such things, does he?

Anyway - great, no - fantastic song to my mind. I love his music, it's good to chill out or just to enjoy. Phenominal artist.

  • @jrguering are you realy so narrow minded?

  • @jrguering u are so stupid....

  • I hope all you guys have listened to and appreciated the inspiration for this piece. Vals No. 3, Opus 8 by Agustin Barrios Mangore. True genius.

  • excelente..... sin palabras... que linda inspiracion...

  • Wow, that's really nice. And so well played.

  • Mesmorizing! I wanna buy your music.

    Beautiful!

  • lets me think of a forgotten circus

  • Did you composed this song Kelly? Men! That was great!!!!

  • Hello kelly

    this waltz is wonderful!

its a good Hommage to Barrios!

    best regard

    Bertrand

  • Waltz is spin, spin, spin

  • really nice!

  • I hope this guy does very well for himself. He's so talented!!

  • solo dos palabras........ DE WEVOS !!!!!!!

  • excellent

  • sounds almost like barrios's Vals no3

    same form too

    nice stuff!

  • that´s a wonderful piece...

  • Barrios is one of my favorite composer. Thank you Kelly, you wrote a very wonderful song !

  • no,this song is dedicated to the spanish composer Agustin Pio Barriós Mangore...

  • Your sister is only good on her knees.

  • well i can tune my very old (1867) toonora to sound like that...but i cant fit the strings on it anymore :( ....but i can play somewhat...

  • barrios makes me think of burritos

  • This is what I think of when I'm riding my bicycle through the woods...sometimes...

    Namaste!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • buy a walkman?

  • iLove it,,,

  • what song is this?

  • Are you serious lol.?

  • um well excuse me dick...the only classical songs i pretty much know are the ones that i play so stfu....why can't you be of use and just tell me....and if your laughing cause you think it says the name in the title then your the idiot cause it just says "hommage to barrios" he's just playing a piece as a tribute then not the song name idiot

  • Wow, cussing and all, you must be real hard.

    Or not.

There's nothing wrong with being 'somewhat' polite you know.

  • whatever....i was polite until you were being a dick....im the most polite person in the world but the moment someone disrespects me for no needed reason i have a major issue with that person...i just have a hard time keeping my cool in an argument so fuck you....i can play passive but i've been that way my entire life...im tired of the same old strategy it has made every aspect of my life seem unimportant, cause my philosophy was, no matter the argument, it all had no true meaning

  • Wow, you have some serious issues man.

By the way, the song name is Hommage to Barrios, or did you think the video "Miss You" was dedicated to a band named "Miss You"? Or his ex-wife? His mother? Damn.

  • how do you know i have issues?....what IS sanity? is that just whatever the masses choose to follow because it keeps them from fearful thoughts? lol and what the hell does the song miss you have to do with this video...and i don't have issues it's just that when i can talk freely and anonymously i can open up, which i NEVER do, not even to my family, i even have a hard time doing it to a fucking psychiatrist...so in a way i have issues but it's just social issues

  • the song is NOT called hommage to barrios, a hommage is a dedication so he might be playing a couple of his songs, who knows...i looked up "hommage to barrios" and this song never showed up...if that's the song name, who would put their own name in a song and say it's a dedication to themselves? that makes no sense, now if you PROVED that another composer wrote and named it that then that's understandable, but classical songs almost always have a musical term in it i.e. canon, valse, minor, major

  • SLAYER!....and grandpa guitars too.

  • huh?

  • Oh my god, are you fucking serious lol, do explain why along with all the other tracks, this one is on his album as Hommage to Barrios

  • because he named it that....but that's not the name of the original piece by barrios himself....he could have made his own variations with the original song, so he just called it a hommage since it might be different from the original

  • Barrios in Spanish means neighborhoods. It is the name of the song. Is his name not Kelly Valleau?

I'm not sure where the idea that his last name is Barrios came from...

  • lol, well i did not know barrios meant neighborhoods in spanish, but the barrios im talking about is a classical guitarist....i never said that THIS guys last name is barrios, im just said that he's paying a hommage to the orignial composer...i forgot his full name though

  • A. Barrios Mangore ?

John Williams(guitarrist) has a lot of respect for his pieces and plays them often. I'm guessing that this song's also about Mangore

  • Its called Hommage to Barrios, it was written by Kelly Valleau. Barrios is a paraguayan guitar composer, Kelly took some of Barrios' melodic structures and turned it into his own piece. Kelly named this piece after Barrios

  • thanks for clarifying

  • no a decent guitar for the normal human being..... if you wanna play and sound ok is about 500CAN$ same everywhere in the world but if you, of course, like that last guy have huge amounts of money you can spare a 1000$ guitar will have quite a good sound.

More then that you better be at the level of a professional, or to have alot of money. Or of course an idiot.

macmanue exagerated alot and believe me you dont want to spend 6000$ for an instrument you are trying to learn

  • how much is a desent classical guitar, my guitar is crap

  • It costs a good technic and touch

  • A decent classical guitar costs how much the price tag says at the guitar shop. I tried out just about every guitar in the shop, from $100 to a few thousand, and what felt best for me was $350. With a good setup, it plays perfectly and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

  • Mine was 800 US$, Ive had it for 3 years, its a Cordoba

  • nice...my guitar now is crap.....but i will be geting another one soon

  • Well yeah, look at Cordobas, try to get a 2005 model, theyre better than theyre current models, you can probably find one on Ebay.

  • Dude this a homage to Barrios! Duh he took the harmonic structure and only slightly changed it! It is supposed to sound similar, but if you have time check out some of HIS compositions like Bull Run, they are great!

  • any where we can get the tabs for these pices?

  • good :-)

  • wanna see this guy and antione dufour do some classical-esque stuff together

  • Unbelievable

  • i wouldnt call myself a tough guy, but im not one to have very many emotions, but this guys playing is something else!

  • nope, not at all, i'm merely pointing out the emotional drive he plays with.

  • There needs to be a repeat button.

  • There is.

  • There needs to be "find the piece of my blown mind" button.

  • @bennude10 there is if you make it a playlist =D

  • Good to see him playing some slower pieces that sound gorgeous even though he has the talent to play some incredibly technical and fast shit. Respect Mr. Valleau.

  • ¡Bueno!

  • This is flawless guitar playing folks.

I'd pay good money to see and hear this guy play. Hope you come to Omaha soon.

  • I like this a lot more than the other candyrats- all of which are good, but I'm just over the alternate tuning thing. I think standard tuning requires much more discipline, though alternates give some new sounds. Kelly's playing is really great, as is his composition here.

  • Kelly's my favourite of them too.

  • moron, try and understand, this isn't a girl, and thats a soul patch. This is a guy with long hair. great, now that you understand, I will go stab someone.

  • what is kellys playing style called? pls respond=)

  • wow, you are such a douche. no joke. no fucking joke. I joking. you're alright. heh heh, it's all good.!

  • Good?

  • At 0:27 the motif is from "Maxixe" - another work of Barrios

  • Extremely beautiful and inspiring version of the "Vals nº3" of Agustín Barrios. I wish to find the score of this amazing theme.

  • beastly

  • oh my fucking gosh, this is some crazy shit, so fucking bad ass and soothing, for the soul. No joke im melting listening to these mellow tunes, thankyou for posting this video! wish i could jam like that, ha.

  • Beautiful!

  • What the hell is this, I thought this was a Homage to Barry Soetoro?

  • My Bad.

  • such a cool vibe from this tune cant get enough.

  • What kind of guitar is that. WOWA

     great stuff.

  • Beautiful, crisp !

  • This sounds so traditional. Amazing!!

  • Agustin is smiling

  • I hardly think so

  • Clean!

  • just broke up with my girl friend, this restored some of my harmoney back. Thank you, for what it was worth...

  • check out Death Cab for Cutie, baradar

  • mercie :)

  • niiiice. you rock. the vibe is peaceful. thanks for sharing.

  • I loved this. Thank you.

  • süper

  • That is so freaken gorgeous!!

  • On t'as démasqué!!!!C antoine dufour avec une perruque!!!!

  • Dude you are legend.....all hail

  • Barrios? This more reminds me of some of the Romani tunes of my youth. Very lovely, thank you for posting

  • I liked the ending a lot.

  • good to know good ol' classical nylon guitars are still alive and kicking. you rock, kelley!

  • amazing................

  • Hey Kelly I admire you so much, you add such a beautiful taste and spanish style to the candyrat crew. so versatile, so fun to watch, so perfected. I was never really into this kind of music until i watched you play it.

and Another brick in the wall? One of the coolest things ive heard anyone do in a while.

much love from Bloomington, IN (come visit Indianapolis!!!)

  • really nice

    so peaceful

    5/5

  • I love it! I especially like the layers. Very well done :]

  • Damn...with that talent I wouldn't mind to say "my name is Kelly"

  • what what??? A new video of Kelly? Sweet

  • Excellent i could hear many allusions to Barrios's melodies witrh great pleasure!

    Respects!

    Eric

  • beautiful

  • Hi Kelly,

A great piece and very skillfull played.

    Greetingzzz

    Rob

    The Netherlands

  • well played !!

  • he looks like a young version of ozzy :D

  • with more tallent..hahahahahahhahahahaha

  • alot more!

  • Amazing music and playing. Bravo!

  • Opeth is just so amazing ^^. But right now, I simply enjoy this wonderful melody =)

  • awesome,great music

  • Very beautiful melody....

  • muy bien¡

  • Nice!

  • is this song for barrios mangore?

  • Too classical for me.. but still nice.

  • This one was of very 'Opeth-ian' dynamics...

  • well observed!! Åkerfeldt has studied a lot of classical in his time..

  • I think this guy is my favorite artist from candy rat records so far...

  • people all guitars can have cutaways it doesn't matter if its acoustic, classical or electric a cutaway is just for easier reach

  • on acoustic, a cutaway makes the sound a little more crisper

  • i dont believe so. i think its just for access to the higher frets.

  • agreed, i have a taylor 814-ce and it sounds heavenly.

  • comon people...this is classical guitar, most of electric classical guitars have cutaways..if you don't believe me just look at the neck and string screws..and composition, very nice clap,clap.. :)

  • to take a small guitar and put all the chords and notes together and make as much sound as a large piano is just amazing

  • phenominal as always. not tha I didnt expect as much :P

  • amazing...is he using a classic guitar??

  • Yes.

  • yes

  • Not that i know cause classical guitars don't have a cut away like acoustic guitars. Might be nylon strings though

  • That's definitely a classical guitar.... look how wide the neck is

  • damn, all your guitarists are perfectionists. big ups.

  • very nice!

  • Amazing

    Totally pro

  • how does this guy know what to play after every note? like how does he know what to play next?

  • Practice?

  • cause he can read my mind ha aha

  • @emericashoes

    It's called composition.

  • Lots of practice. And this is a composition. So he already knows what he's going to play next.

When improvising though, musicians tend to just play what sounds good. They may have certain ideas in their head of what to play already, or they may not.

  • awesome, that totally took me back in time to some random European city.

  • That was breath taking. You are out of this world amazing on that guitar. I can not wait to enjoy more of your shinning talent. God bless you and your family.

  • wow

  • jesus, how emotional. I'm sold

  • love their musick

  • Oh wow, this is fantastic. EASY 5 stars. Great work!

    Much love,
